With Teeth (dualdisk edition) without plastic sleeve - normal?

04/23/10 5:28 AM

I got my WT Dualdisc on pre-order from sony.com when it came out, got the THTF pic disc for free, but the dualdisc did not come w a sleeve. was at local best buy the other day, seems to be normal w no sleeve

Can't find one anywhere.
Help on this?

- Black Box - Wax Trax! Records: The First 13 Years (3xCD, 1994)
- 1000 Homo DJs - Supernaut (single, 1990) (also part of Ministry - Side Trax, beware of 1st mono pressing)
- Obscured By Fuckheads compilation and other bootlegs

04/22/10 11:37 PM

All versions of the track have Trent on vocals. The Black Box and several NIN bootlegs (the most common is Demos and Remixes)contain the "unaltered" version. The altered version uses a distortion effect on the vocals to to make it less apparent that Trent is singing. This can be found on 1,000 Homo DJ's "Supernaut", Ministry "Greatest Fits", Ministry "Side Trax" and Ministry "Cover Up".

But i have Greatest Fits and liner notes say that vox on Supernaut is by AJ, not TR...

The version on Greatest Fits and Cover Up is a re-recorded version, it's quite different to the 1000 Homo DJs version, it's over 30 seconds longer for a start.

I have 2 versions of the US 5-track The Perfect Drug on CD(INTDM-95007), one of the discs is light purple w black, or really dark purple text, that matches the pic from NINcatalog.com, and the other is dark purple disc w light purple text, that looks like the UK version, but is in fact another US copy. Is the dark purple version more rare or something? I bought both of these used and the music is the same on each disc.

i have some questions

1. On nincollector it says that with teeth with the black cd is 9/10 how much is it worth?

2. I've seen peaple talking about WITT being worth 300-350$ is it the promos or the original? Is it one cd or all three?

3. I'm gonna by something new in some weeks or so anyone has a idea for what i should get?
i can only afford one album it sucks only being 14 sad smiley

What i have so far:

the slip

ghosts i-iv

year zero remixed

year zero

every day is exactly the same

with teeth

the fragile

05/03/10 2:21 AM

nincollector ratings are not 100% correct.
1. With Teeth black CD is not rare, it's EU regular german pressing, costs less than $10 in general.
2. 300-350 for WITT is definitely for a set, not for a piece. For that price they must be brand new (still sealed) and/or "sample" promos.
3. What to get next? I would get a DVD "beside you in time" or Fragile remix CD "things falling apart" then move on to older albums smiling smiley

Wish VHS UK Promo

Picked this up recently, mainly just to see exactly what was on a VHS promo (haven't had a chance to set up the old player yet) and was wondering whether many people collect VHS? I have to say that something about them appeals to me, and I am getting a taste for cassettes as well...

qwerty458 - would def recommend Broken especially if $ an issue - easy to pick up cheap. Also I would say that The Downward Spiral is an essential, ASAP.
Not that I would argue with Things Falling Apart either...

I got an update from Amazon today offering a pre-order of this:

apparently TDS and WT are going to be released on 5/18/2010 on 1 disc? Is this a licensed item, it's listed as an import. Anyone else heard of this? There's no picture yet. It seems strange that those 2 albums would be packaged together, rather than one of them packaged with one of their corresponding remix CDs.

Is this thing for real or some bootleg?

05/05/10 1:32 PM

sure it's strange, but you will eventually find out in 2 weeks. i personally think they are bundling 2 dualdisks in this "edition", but don't count on my crazy words smiling smiley

There is one on Ebay now and I would like to get it if it is offical. Do we know yet if this is an offical release or some sort of overseas bootleg copy? Whats everyone thought? And are any collectors of offical releases planning on buying this?

What exactly are you talking about? TDS+WT bundle? Personally i'm not planning to get it, but if i'll see it on sale for, say, $5 - why not?

05/23/10 7:43 PM

Yes sorry thats what I was talking about. Yeah probably going to wait on that one too. They will probably make 100,000 anyways.

There's a poster/print up at a local club that I was informed was some kind of promo piece for NIN. I don't have a pic of it (dark in there, heh) but it says "Tree of Life" across the middle. Any clue what this is or where I might find a copy?

I've asked the people at the club and they will be asking the person that donated it but I figured I'd try here too. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I just picked up a second Japanese copy of WT and was going to sell it (on here actually), but when I compared it to the copy that I bought in Japan there is clearly a color difference between the two (on the inside-where Trent and the song list is). They were both printed in Japan but one is blue-ish and the other is green-ish. The discs appear the same, though. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this or if one is worth anything.

The one on top is the 'green' and 'blue' is on bottom

Thanks!!

is the exterior the same hue on both? i'd say the normal image would be something average, less blue and less green at the same time. why did you mirror photos?

could you please post a close-up photo of tracklisting in japanese on the obi-strip? asking because someone asked for a "beside you in time" tattoo in japanese.

They are pretty much the same hue outside, one is just a very slight darker blue (the blue-ish inside one).

I'll see what I can do for the obi pic, my computer's camera is not great at close ups.

Today when I was going through the liner notes of my Deluxe Edition Downward Spiral set (SACD version) I noticed an error in the lyrics of Piggy, where it reads "you don?t [sic] need me anymore". Is this error documented?

07/21/10 9:58 PM

I have that version as well. Actually never noticed it before. Anyone else? I'm curious if all of them are like that.

I have an import pressing of Pretty Hate Machine, released by Universal Music Argentina and Island Records that was released 2005. Is this a rare edition? Is it rarer than the re-release by Rykodisc? I payed $14.99 for it new on Trent's Birthday this year.

08/06/10 2:27 PM

no. its probably just as common as the US re-release. you can find the Argentina pressing in Best Buy. dont open new topics. its been covered ad nauseum

08/06/10 2:31 PM

I'm not too sure about Pretty Hate Machine, but I know a few of the Argentinian discs are "more rare" than other copies from other countries. However, there is a guy based in Argentina on E-Bay who is selling different Argentinian copies of NIN albums. Rarer? yes. Hard to get? No. 2 weeks ago I just bought "Beside you in Time" for $7.50 and it was from Argentina. A few months back, I bought "The Fragile" for $12 from Argentina. I didn't buy them cause they were hard to get, I got them only because they were cheaper.

I'm sorry about that.
