Why does the Year Zero 9" box say "NIN9X04" does this mean there was supposed to be 4 9" records?

That was the school of thought, the WT box had the same written on although if you got hold of the promo vinyl for the 2 singles you could fill the box with 4 records dont know if there were any 9" promos releases for 'survivalism' and 'capital G'

There was a 9" promo for Survivalism, but I've only seen a 12" promo for Capital G.

Do the NIN 2009 Echoplez hoodies run big as the track jackets do? I found a good deal on a Medium one but don't want to get it and have it end up fitting more like a large... need response ASAP

Is $35 too much to pay for a HIS 12" Advance Copy Vinyl

01/11/10 2:13 AM

^That sounds about right. I wouldn't pay any more than that.

Sooo . . . confused. I purchased WITT Pt. 1 and 3 and received them in the mail today. Now, ninwiki.com agrees that what i purchased was Part 1 and 3

part 1:

http://www.ninwiki.com/images/5/56/WITTN_1cover.jpg

part 3:

http://www.ninwiki.com/images/e/e8/WITT_3cover.jpg

But, nincollector and other sites say that my "part 1" is actually part 2, and this is the real part one:

http://www.ninwiki.com/images/1/1c/WITT_2cover.jpg

My CDS are green and yellow respectively. Any help? The CDS don't say which disc or anything they are... so idk. Itunes automatically came up that i had part 1, so is ninwiki right or is nincollector?

01/14/10 8:17 PM

Ninwiki is right.

http://www.ninwiki.com/images/1/1c/WITT_2cover.jpg
This is part 2.

I'm looking at nincollector right now and I don't see where it says that it is part 1. Can you link to where it says that?

01/14/10 8:24 PM

I meant nincatalog, not collector, my apologies.

thanks!

01/15/10 7:45 AM

Ahh, well, nincatalog has is wrong. What you have is really part 1.

01/15/10 6:02 PM

ninwiki and nincollector are right.
But Japanese edition:

part 1:
http://www.ninwiki.com/images/1/1c/WITT_2cover.jpg

part 2:
http://www.ninwiki.com/images/5/56/WITTN_1cover.jpg

It's confusing.

so, i've got two questions for you.

the first is just about the we're in this together single. i recieved a made in germany part 1 copy [green disc], with standard 497 141-2 code. the thing is, it had an orange Motor postcard in it, something like a survey, along with a logo of some "m.i.d.", or "music info disc" [you can see this logo here - [bit.ly] ]. is this any relevant? i will post pics if needed.

the second question [which i kinda posted on general questions] is: do the dvd-a versions of with_teeth actually have image slideshow during dvd-a playback? i tried everything but i can't get a standard dvd-a playback, i can only play dvd-v layer or rip the audio from the dvd-a layer. have you ever tried playback on an actual dvd-a player? too bad i only got my computer which can handle dvd-a format.

^ The European pressings of We're In This Together are all the same, regardless of what the sticker says. None of these pressings were sealed, so anyone could have slipped any info/ad cards into the packaging. I say no relevance at all to the MID survey.

I've listened to the DVD audio for With Teeth on a few different players and didn't ever remember seeing a slideshow, or any info stating there was one. It is just an artwork image with the tracklisting.

Hope this helps.

well, the postcard wasn't put there by "anyone" since many releases present items with the logo and sometimes it's just printed on the artwork/disc. also, the item presents a siae [italian society for authors and editors] logo [stickered on every item legally sold in italy] and grants that the postcard was put there in the origin country - germany - as it's written in german and the siae sticker says "import disc" - which is only applied to direct-from-fabric items [privates are not going to pay siae rights and put the sticker on the disc, and then put a german survey postcards]. it's just not random, at all.

about with_teeth, im talking about the dvd-a layer, which can be read in dvd-a players. in dvd-v you see the menus, like you said, but in the dvd-a format you are not going to see them [ie. just check for a confirmation if your audio is actually high resolution 24/96 if you're reading the correct dvd-a layer. if you aren't, its going to be on standard 192kbps for stereo sound and 448 for surround sound. which is less than cd quality]. the thing is, i'd just like to know what happens if you read the dvd-a layer [not the dvd-v layer, or the standard dvd format].

oh and about where the info came from
[bit.ly]
and some other post on the official site. you can see it says "on dvd-a players", but i just managed to rip high resolution .mlp's from the audio_ts [or dvd-a layer] of the disc, as i don't have an actual player.

i hope it's clearer now.

damn why does everyone just hate with_teeth?

^I'm not sure then. Unless the liner notes or the disc carry such a logo or variation, it really doesn't add any value to the worth of the item.

As for the DVD, I see what you are saying, but have never attempted to play it that way. Hopefully someone else could help clear this up.

Most people I know like With Teeth! I personally love it. NIN is multi generational, so for a lot of fans, it was an introductory album, those fans seems to have a lesser liking for Pretty Hate Machine, due to it sounding "dated". PHM has always been a favorite mine ever since I got into NIN in 94. It doesn't sound dated at all to me. I think the 80s had a very futuristic sound that for whatever reason disolved and went into 70s garage band in the 90s. But long story short, Im an old timer, and I love With Teeth! You always have the old farts that hate anything that is released after their teenage years smiling smiley

^^^

well it wasn't for the value, it was just to know if it was something unusual, as i did not see any other disc with that inside... and of course im not even thinking of selling it because it's the only halo_fifteen i have!

about with teeth, yes i am part of the newer generation [i wasn't even born when phm was released] but i still like all the old stuff. but you are right, pretty hate machine isn't exactly one of my favourites. mostly because of the artwork/package. because, well, it looks old, as you said - not that songs like something i can never have, terrible lie and head like a hole will ever sound that old [expecially live] but i consider artwork very important and part of the overall experience. with teeth, for me, has one of the best artworks. this is why i was trying to see that slideshow - if it ever existed [like the second wallpaper pack from with teeth which never came out]. anyways, playing around with the dvd something like a year ago i discovered a nice easter egg - if you wait for about a minute white lines will come down from the top of the screen [or from another part - depending which was the background video loaded] and crawl accross it, like in the the line begins to blur live visuals, then the background will turn black. it also works on beside you in time and collected. pretty cool considering i love those lines - really!
the reason i am saying most everyone hates with_teeth is because noone was really interested in this slideshow [i searched informations of it everywhere], i guess there's someone out there with a dvd-a reader and a copy of the with_teeth dvd. but none of them seems interested in seeing this stuff, or just confirm if it exists.

i hope im not going off topic too much.

about with teeth dvd - couldn't find the slideshow in dvd-audio stream (nero showtime and cyberlink powerdvd6 fail - switch to dvd-video every time), using creative dvd-audio player to listen (freeware, but only works with creative soundcards = audigy2/4/xfi) but it doesn't show visuals at all.

n0!s3 have you also got downward spiral dvd? i guess your question could be applied to that too (and probably more people own it) so it could help bring the answer.

thank you for your help in testing... so it looks like there isn't any slideshow, if you tried with an actual dvd-a player [all other players i tried don't work, like you said, and if you manage to switch to dvd-a mode instead of dvd-v they will just display a black 13-minutes movie with no sound]. there's just one thing i don't understand - how could you switch through different audio modes [5.1 and 2.0] without the use of a menu, will you just go through one audio mode to get to the other or is there a title selection system, like in standard dvd-v? because i was wondering if this could require something like a visual menu. but i am most probably wrong, if you didn't see anything like that.

about the downward spiral dvd, according to ninwiki it should only contain a gallery, something like a bonus [beside you in time had something similar to this] so i guess it's not the same as with the ghosts i-iv blu ray or with the with_teeth dvd. or at least what it should have been with the with_teeth dvd.

Well that Creative player i mentioned isn't the definitive answer, because it's limited to audio output only (enough for me) and the program's help file specifically says that any visuals should be viewed through other 24-bit Audio/Video player.
And for choosing between stereo and surround that program uses windows interface (screenshot)

oh, i missed the part of the audio only. even if with that audio quality it's still great to hear, i guess!

so everything's not lost, we still need someone to test it out on a audio/video dvd-a reader. ohwell.

The With Teeth DVD-A displays a slide show of artwork while playing the surround tracks or the standard tracks. I have a DVD-A player (JVC XV-SA70) and am watching it right now. Hope that helps.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to find Ghosts songs 37 and 38. Does anyone have any ideas where these can be found?

Thanks!

Sorry if this is a common question. I tried searching but no luck.

Is the red vinyl version of The Fragile harder to find? What's different about it?

I decided to collect only sealed nin items. Makes sense, since condition is very important. Does anyone else here collect only sealed items?

Somebody in this forum posted a picture of Beside you in time CD bootleg.
Would like to know the tracklist (because at least 2 songs had to be cut from winter tour video to fit on 1 CD) and whether the sound differs from DVD source (edited or just the direct transfer).

Which Sin version is rarer? The US version that has the "made in canada" logo or the one without?
