What did you think of it? I thought it was a fantastic film, and I wish there were more movies like it.

Overall, I enjoyed it a great deal. I'm not sure it's the modern classic so many of the critics and cinephiles are proclaiming it to be- sympathizing with the main character's plight is tough when the movie gives you almost nothing about him to go on, for one.

Still, so much of it was great; the soundtrack (the song playing in the opening scene is as equally awesome as the onscreen action.) Gosling,as the mysterious Driver, delivers an effectively understated performance in what could have a nearly borderline boring character.

It's a very methodical and tense movie as well, which serves to punctuate the moments of speed and action all the more. And man, are those moments of action punctuated. In the end, I found the climax to somewhat... Unsatisfying. But all in all, an enjoyablly minimalisitc flick. Keeping expectations down would likely increase your appreciation of Drive.

I disagree. IMO, it only added to the mystery of the character and by the time we get to see the "other side" of "Driver", it's all that more shocking. I really liked how they had him without any back story whatsoever.

I had heard jokes about this, but now its become reality. Some people really were expecting Fast and Furious out of this film, and are really upset that it wasn't.

Lawsuit claims she was promised Fast & Furious but got art

"According to The Hollywood Reporter (via WDIV-TV), Sarah Deming's suit claims FilmDistrict "promoted the film Drive as very similar to the Fast and Furious, or similar, series of movies." Instead, she got an artsy drama with some action in it."

this actually makes me want to see this movie more. for me, the less it is like Fast and Furious, the better.

^ I agree, romeo_void. I was worried that this movie would be like Fast and Furious. I'm very glad it's not.

Not only is this woman stupid but I'm assuming her whole fucking family is stupid as well. Why didn't anyone try to talk her out of this? Must be white trash.

i finally got a chance to see this movie, and after watching it i am even more dumbfounded as how anyone would try to sue the movie. even if you were actually expecting Fast and Furious, i don't see how you could be anything but pleasantly surprised that you got something much better. great story, some really tense suspense, great use of the soundtrack, and great acting. i particularly liked the supporting performances from Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman, and Bryan Cranston. how anyone could be upset that there was not enough things blowing up is beyond me. i definitely recommend it.

I really like the night time cinematography in this, it is very similar to what i loved about Collateral.

Definitely quite the character that Gosling has played here, he seemed to have a very delayed or hesitant nature before he would release his inner demons, like somebody would ask him something and i swear it took him like 10 minutes to respond at some point in the film.. very interesting.

Great flick though, ooooo the elevator scene! that was definitely a highlight.

just a random thing. about 4 days each week i sleep to the song 'I Drive' on repeat from the soundtrack. perfect sleeping music.

well it was a pretty nice song, and artistically a perfect fit for the direction of the movie

I just want the track "Tick of the Clock" by the Chromatics, song used in the opening scene. It's one of the damn "album only" tracks on itunes, though. Fucking love that song.

I can't believe I haven't been on these forums enough to have found this yet.

I declare Drive the greatest movie of 2011 to all my friends and family. I tell it to everyone, and nobody I know really enjoys it. The movie is amazing, the soundtrack is absolutely breathtaking in so many ways.

50/10 rating from me for this movie: Buy or rent it!

Love this film, I've watched it a couple of times now
and really enjoyed Cliff Martinez's score, but there is
more in the way of beautiful music related to it.

The album is called Themes For An Imaginary Film by
Symmetry, apparently resulting from the dropped score
to Drive.

A distilled version of it would have been perfect for the film
but as it worked out it's now almost two hours of perfect
electronic score (minus a film) to get lost in.

Well worth seeking out.
