I don't remember where I found this theory, but it was describing how the numbers must be changed in order to reset everything or save humanity. Apparently, in the alternate timeline, jack is sitting in seat 24 as opposed to seat 23 in the original timeline, and Hurley has gotten "lucky" with what we assume is a new set of numbers. I've seen great evidence that points in the direction of switched numbers. 4 8 15 16 23 32 I'll attempt to find this theory online...

Its just wayyyy too fantastical for my liking....and too many deus ex machinas! I don't know, just not really feeling this season so far....:/ Hope it gets better!

And then that will either help everything fall into place, or have some sort of disasterous, fate-driven, "we were supposed to do this and not that" effect on everyone. Probably the latter. Personally i really think the writing for this show is genius people can say what they will but to have so much basis on a bunch of numbers and it's only just a fraction of everything going on in the show it's just crazy. The more that timeline goes the more I think that alternate Jack is going to figure things out in some way, like remember stuff that happened to him in the island timeline. I have no idea how they would do that, but it seems like they're hinting at it with him thinking he knew Desmond on the plane and not really remembering when he had his appendix out. And from what we've seen none of the other characters are having any weird deja vu in the alternate timeline. And the way Jacob was talking in last night's episode he either knows that Jack is going to replace him or has a lot of faith in him that he can save the island. Edited 1 time(s).
