Not bad idea, but horrible acting % directing.

Black Swan. It was OK but I don't think I'll buy it when it's released to dvd. Of course the music was WONDERFUL!!! (who doesn't like Tchaikovsky????) And the soundtrack is by Clint Mansell (I didn't know that!!!!). I did enjoy the dancing.

04/05/11 5:57 AM

2001:A Space Odyssey. It is a favourite movie.

Great movie!

The Andromeda Strain (the original 1970 movie)

La Casa Muda. Absolutely love hispanic horror films, this story gave me serious chills.

Saw the American version of Let The Right One In yesterday. After reading the bookk and seeing the original Swedish film, I was actually kind of impressed. I felt that there was far too much missing from the film that was in the book, but they did a great job of working with the main part of the story to make it into a good film. I enjoyed both versions of the movie for different reasons, but I still love the book above both of them grinning smiley

500 Days of Summer.
Good story, but the music annoyed me.
It's wasn't an annoyingly quirky indie, yes there was hipster music in it.
That was the boner killer. It did have some fun scenes that were creative.

Coffee and Cigarettes. I HAVE TO see that movie every day. I will sometimes go through phases where I have to see certain movies over and over. Right now, I'm addicted to Jim Jarmusch films.

04/10/11 5:56 AM

Flying High (aka Airplane). Very funny movie, but I did my usual trick of dozing off in the middle of it. Must be getting old...

04/10/11 11:46 AM

Hanna. I liked it. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't play more music in the movie (the chemical brothers did the score)

04/11/11 5:39 AM

Jane Eyre. The Orson Welles/Joan Fontaine version. I was just in the mood for a Golden Years of Hollywood movie. And, I managed to stay awake through the whole movie!!!! smiling smiley

(For those who don't know, I have a habit of falling asleep in front of the television. It's extremely frustrating, especially when there's something on that I particularly want to watch.)

Today I watched A Clockwork Orange. I've never before seen it right through. I found it a most interesting movie, very dark and rather funny in parts.

I bet you'll never listen to Beethoven or Singin' in the Rain the same way again...

The other day I finally saw Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in one sitting. I'd never even seen the end of it before. Other than that one random scene with Sundance and the girl riding around the field on the bicucle, it was such a great movie smiling smiley

^^Prowler, I already knew some of the story of A Clockwork Orange, I've seen and heard bits of it before, so I knew about the music used in the movie.

Dark City. Haven't seen that for years, hasn't lost any of it's magic.

Tron Legacy. Beyond the obvious gorgeous dark looks and cool sounds
Quorra is just Excellent.

I like Dark City too. It's a very interesting little movie.

Today I watched Funny Face. I'm not really one for musicals, but this movie is a particular favourite of mine. I love all the pretty clothes and there's a certain ... what? ... bitchiness maybe? Wrong word. Wit?

Right now my son is giggling over The Boat That Rocked (aka Pirate Radio). It's on television and is another favourite of ours. I saw it on the big screen and bought a copy as soon as it was released.

The Runaways- Not one that I need to own, but I enjoyed it. It's very dark, and I was extremely surprised at how little I minded Kristen Stewart in the movie

Get Him To The Greek- I have to admit, it was a lot funnier than I was anticipating. It actually had a couple (not many, but a couple) of really clever little jokes and one-liners in there

Elevator to the Gallows...good movie. I love 1960s french movies...this one had a film noir feel to it.

You Only Live Twice

04/17/11 6:56 AM

^^And how many times have you seen it??? smiling smiley

Today we watched Garage Days. An Australian movie directed by Alex Proyas. It was pretty good, pretty funny.

I love Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire (Ginger Rogers, too, of course) and I was just thinking about Funny Face a few days ago. It's one of my favorites, especially the scene where she dances to the "beatnick" music.

I saw Scream 4 last night. Loved the opening sequence and the rest of the movie was pretty decent too!

My favorite Bond film. I'm aware that quite a few are very arguably better, but nothing tops the going-for-broke You Only Live Twice for me.

Drag Me to Hell, a great flick

Recently i gonna watch The Rebound movie. Storyline and stuffs of the movie was good and pretty enjoyable and i would like to rate it 7.

Today I watched "The Raven". It was made about 2006 and is based around Edgar Allen Poe's poem (supposedly, I didn't get the connection). This particular version is about a young woman who is raped, and she retaliates by killing her attacker who comes back as half ghost/half raven...
