Armageddon,

Not sure if it was a comedy, drama, sci-fy, chick flick or an Aerosmith rock documentary.

05/11/11 8:43 PM

Troll 2

05/13/11 8:12 AM

Thor.

It was massive. I was amazed. I want to see it again. Who's with me?

05/13/11 6:16 PM

The Way Back. Epic tale of some serious endurance through a really cruel part
of human history. Always good to see Ed Harris, Mark Strong and Colin Farrell.

yeah, just watched this actually.

decent movie.
fav scene was when the guy with bad vision died just a few feet from the campfire.
they did a great job of making that scene subjective.

ME!!!!!!! smiling smiley

Watched "Poltergeist" yesterday. My son bought me a copy for Mother's Day and yesterday I had free time, so was able to watch it. It's one of my favourite movies. OK, who cares if it's a bit silly, it's FUN!!! smiling smiley

Today we watched episodes 1, 2 and 3 of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", another Mother's Day present from my son. OK, so it's not a movie, but it's still a lot of fun.

Indeed, and a nice chilling reveal too as he appeared from the fog like a
frozen Buddha.

May. Dark little film about a dark little character. Been a while since
I first saw this film, I'd forgotten just how messed up she was.

Buried.

Pretty good, Ryan Reyndolds is not just a pretty face, at least not in this movie.

The BBC one? Nice. Classic, even. And "Poltergeist"? Freaky.

Question: Are you into comic books?

05/15/11 5:20 AM

^^Not really into comic books. My daughter buys a few every now and then. And yes, it was the original BBC TV series of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, we watched episodes 4, 5 and 6 today.

05/15/11 7:03 AM

^^How many episodes were there?

And, about comic books, I'd say they're one of the greatest art forms in existence.

05/15/11 8:32 AM

Daydream Nation

came off as a dark juno/youth and revolt/superbad

very decent film. surreal and engaging
don't watch unless you suspend belief though

05/16/11 2:50 AM

vanishing on 7th street

i give it a 4.

so many mistakes in the character's actions.
just sloppily made.

Only 6 episodes altogether. But it's a two disc dvd with outtakes and other stuff that I can't remember.

Comic books are certainly big business. I used to know a fellow who collected them. And, a very long time ago when I was a "wee lass" I remember holding in my hands a Fantastic Four comic that told the story of how they got their special powers, so I guess that must have been the first edition. I have no idea what happened to that comic book, because if I had it today I think it might be worth a few dollars. Anyway, this is the "latest movie" thread, so we'd better get back on topic.

Started to watch Victor/Victoria today, but unfortunately I got interrupted so will have to watch it right through another day.

Is it out in theatres? I saw on my ONDEMAND with comcast that you can rent it. I don't want to fork up the seven dollars to comcast because they dick me enough. I'd rather spend twenty bucks at the theatre.

05/17/11 11:54 PM

no, i don't think it's coming to theaters in america anyway...it's out in canada i think. but, it'll probably come straight to dvd here.

The Day After Tomorrow. What a nice little movie that is...

05/19/11 1:19 AM

Saw the new Pirates movie last night. Pretty good I thought, probably the best since the first.

It is a cool flick, I love the whole father and son relationship
his dad promises he'll come and get him, and does so in the
nick of time.

Dennis Quaid's big mad smile is kin'a scary though.grinning smiley

The Night Listener. Strange little tale of the encounter between a
troubled radio host and one of his listeners. Robin Williams was quietly
excellent in his role.
