Just saw Cowboys and Aliens, really fun popcorn flick.

08/01/11 1:56 AM

Last night I watched Couples Retreat, and was really surprised at how funny it actually was. Not one I need to add to my collection, but I might watch it again if it's on

Friday night I saw Earth Girls are Easy... My God, that movie was terrible

08/02/11 5:46 AM

La Bamba. I usually watch this one on the anniversary, but I just wanted to watch it yesterday. It's such a sad movie, I got a little teary at the end.

The Doors. Been a long time since I saw this one. I've been a Doors fan for about 43 years... and this one has Michael Wincott in it!!! WOO HOO!!! He's not playing his usual "villain" role... he's a good guy.

Zookeeper! I love this movie. It's so much fun & not just for families with kids.
The guy dumps a blonde & ends up with an olive-skinned brunette. Gotta like that. LOL winking smiley

Memories

A japanese animation that is made up of 3 different shorts. Whether you watch animation or not, watch this, it is simpley breathtaking, beautiful and is full of depth and artistry.

Altogether created by Katsuhiro Otomo (created of Akira manga and anime) with some other fantastic directors, writers and composers it is one of the best anime films ever made in my opinion.

Funny Face. What can I say? Audrey Hepburn RIP is one of my favourite female actors, and this movie brings out the "little girl" in me, all the pretty clothes and bright colours.

08/06/11 3:06 PM

Star Trek-First Contact--great film. Last time I was it, it was in the theater.

08/07/11 1:25 AM

Joan, Funny Face is one of my favorites. Who can top Audrey Hepburn?

Rhett, I love First Contact! One of the best Star Trek films.

I just saw Rise of the Apes. What fun! When is the Academy going to create a new "Best Motion Capture Performance" award so Andy Serkis can get the Oscar he STILL deserves for playing Gollum?

Just finished watching Rosemary's Baby. I forgot how good of a movie that is. I also watched Blue Valentine earlier...pretty good movie as well.

08/08/11 5:57 AM

PeedroPaula, you said it!!! Audrey Hepburn was a truly decent human being, and one of my favourite actresses.

Rhett, it's been a long time since I saw "Star Trek: First Contact" as well. I remember bits and pieces of it, and I know I enjoyed it.

This morning I saw "Captain America: The First Of The Avengers". Thoroughly enjoyed it!! I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, only to say this: Go see it!!! It's fun!!!!

Yes! Pretty funny the whole time, love the ice-sculpture smash scene, perfect.

And yes, I love that they make this perfect blonde character that he chooses the lab assistant over (although Rosario Dawson's no second place!). Gotta say I would have made the same decision, and a lot sooner!

I saw that movie, then I saw Bridesmaids which was certainly funny, but a bit crude at times. Not a parents movie. So funny though! Maya Rudolph and Kristin Wig were fantastic!

Holy Crap-- Doesn't this pic look like the Starf*ckers video a bit?!?!

...Man I gotta watch some tough guy explosion movies to compensate.

Watched the STARZ version of Moby Dick over the weekend. It was very well done, and I greatly enjoyed it. It's probably one of the better versions I've seen, actually.

It surprised me too. It actually is quite a decent story, not just a comic book hero thing. Hard to explain...

08/10/11 5:45 PM

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, which was pretty good. Great motion capture work on the apes and a beautiful Freida Pinto.

08/11/11 5:03 PM

Wow, am I the only one who watches movies here?

I just got back from Melancholia. Beautiful movie (which left me quite depressed as well).

08/12/11 5:35 AM

No, Samurai_Zombie, you are not the only one who watches movies here. smiling smiley Today I watched "Predator". My son bought it for me for Mother's Day and today is the first time that I have watched that copy. I recorded it off the television years ago, but of course the official copy has more in it than the television version.

Today we watched The Cannonball Run. We haven't seen that movie for quite some time and it's a good giggle!!!

08/14/11 9:01 AM

last night we watched Winnebago Man. I don't watch viral videos, so I had never heard of the angriest man in the world, but that shit is pretty fucking funnysmiling smiley

08/16/11 5:04 AM

Yesterday my daughter and I saw Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Loved it!!!! I loved all the references to the original movie. I strongly recommend it.

Today I watched an old Abbott and Costello movie called "Hold That Ghost". I love this movie, it's one I've been watching since I was very young.

08/16/11 12:53 PM

Varmints. Really moving short animated film by Marc Craste with a very poignant
and of the moment subject matter and with the most beautiful musical score by
Jóhann Jóhannsson. Can't recommend this film & It's music nearly enough.

Love the fact that the character vocals in this film come from a little group of animals
an ocelot, a siberian lynx, a margay and a red panda. Genius touch.
