If you're looking for entertaining death scenes I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the Final Destination movies. They're full of loads of red herrings and prolonged 'how are they going to die' sequences. Take Evan's death in FD2. And I was actually really shocked by this. Urgh...

My most favorite death scene..... is from The Chronicles of Riddick. The self titled movie, NOT Pitch Black. At the end of the movie, Vin Diesel outsmarts the main villain [The Lord Marshall] by sticking a knife in his head when he's actually running away from his physical body (probably doesn't make sense. You just need to see it to understand, if you already haven't), and it's just the fucking coolest death scene.

I remember seeing that thing and thinking, "this single scene just made up for the entire movie."

oh, and the whole freeway carnage at the beginning of the movie. brilliant!

bill murray in zombieland. hilarious.

Paul Allen getting killed to Its Hip To Be Square, and the chainsaw scene later in American Psycho.

The end of Reservoir Dogs wherenthey all shoot each other and Mr Orange and Mr White survive, and right before the credits roll you hear one shot and then several.

Idk if this counts, but the book ending in Fight Club. Essentially Tyler dies so maybe it counts, but the book ending is more darker than the film.

John Abruzzi in Prison Break

"I kneel only to god, i don't see him here"

*BOOM* and he's riddled with bullets, such an epic scene i just love the way it was done i don't care about how much gore it lacks or how it's not as gruesome as others. It just stands out for me as a favorite among the rest.

I haven't actually thought about this before so until I come up with some proper answers here is perhaps the funniest death ever filmed.

It is of course from Star Trek 3. Try and watch it without laughing!

the problem with being a forensic pathologist is that all tv shows, movies, and books involving deaths are ruined for life. i cannot turn off the pathology part of my brain and enjoy, i instead go ballistic pointing out what isn't right.

that being said the best and funniest kill lately in a movie was Bill Murray in Zombieland.

i'm not a forensic person but seeing enough horrible videos sent to me over the web is enough to know most movie deaths are just wrong, and cleaned up beyond belief.

seeing that annoying woman in knowing get taken out by the truck was a welcome relief. her character arc was clearly over before that point smiling smiley

Battle royale 2 when the teacher rugby dives and his collar explodes.
Frickin. hilarious.

I think that the only movie kills that my brain will let me enjoy are the ones you just aren't expecting at THAT moment. The kill isn't that spectacular but the timing is jarring. Bill Murray in Zombieland (can't wait to see him get killed in the new Ghostbusters), Julianne Moore in Children of Men, and whoever John Travolta shot in the back of the car in Pulp Fiction.

Casino (Most Brutal) - Joe Pesci's death at the end was pretty brutal, even though they buried him while he was still breathing
- Since Irreversible has already been mentioned, this one would have to take second to that for me

The Thin Red Line (Best War Film Death) - Woody Harrelson's character when he blows his ass off
- I'll also add Giovanni Ribisi's death scene from Saving Private Ryan

Life Is Beautiful (Most Emotional) - Roberto Benigni's death is probably the most emotional one for myself, even though you don't see it.

The Passion Of The Christ (Most Ridiculous) - Why not add this one, the most dragged out torture and death sequence in cinema history

A Clockwork Orange (Most Surreal) - When Alex uses the giant penis to kill the old lady

Sweeney Todd (Most Fun) - Every murder committed

Pulp Fiction (Most Comical) - Merv being shot accidentally in the backseat by Vincent Vega (Travolta)

Death Proof (Most Bad Ass) - Rose McGowen in Stuntman Mike's car is another good Tarantino death scene

Dagon (Best Horror) - Skinning scene

True Romance (The Greatest) - Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken's scene is by far not only the greatest death scene, but one of the greatest scene's of all time

Golly...there's sooooo many! Here's a different one...in Alien 3 when the prisoners Golic, Boggs, and Raines are lighting candles and the dog alien snatches its second kill from above and rips the guy's head clean off, showering Golic (who somehow escapes) with blood.
Another I find satisfying is when The Crow defeats Top Dollar in the movie. RIP Brandon Lee, and thank you James O'Barr for The Crow.

Although it's not my favourite, it did amuse me. It was very unexpected.

In The Business, towards the end, these characters meet up to do 'one last job' before they go their own ways. They're dodgy people -- drug dealer, gangster types. But this is set in Spain, so it gives it a sunny glow to it.

Anyway, they meet up and pick one of the guys to go on look out. They're planning to kill this guy they don't like for whatever reason. The guy they've chosen goes off mumbling, and the others get their guns ready and whatnot. A minute or so later, they sneak into this olive tree plantation or whatever it is, where their look out had gone. They keep walking, when all of a sudden they're like 'EW D:'. And the audience just gets one shot of the looks outs head on a spike.

Okay, it doesn't sound that funny, but it is. It just seems like such a mood killer. XD
