FUTURAMA (probably spoilers in here)

Yes, that's right. Futurama. This thread was bound to happen.

The next Futurama movie, Bender's Game, is set to release on DVD on November 4, 2008. Which is great. They show episodes from seasons 1-5 on Comedy Central everyday here in America.

This is probably my favorite cartoon. I love the dialogue and the humor, and of course the science fiction references.

I have yet to see The Beast with a Billion Backs, because I can't find the DVD anywhere. But they'll likely show it in Comedy Central soon, which is great.

So...discuss!

they better show the movies on Comedy Central, can't afford to buy the dvds right now. But yeah, it's a great show. I love when they make references about little future things( The 83rd Amendment, or whatever...), that and the episode where Fry became his on grandfather, hahaha

09/02/08 10:46 AM

I haven't seen either film, but I have both of them at blockbuster. I really like the episode 'THE DEVILS HANDS ARE IDLE PLAYTHINGS' where Fry makes a deal with the robot devil to use a donor's hands to play that instrument holophonor and win leela's heart at an opera.

09/02/08 4:00 PM

Yeah, comedy central during night time is when I get a chance to watch some of these episodes. I love this show and could just watch all of them forever.

09/04/08 6:16 PM

I have 1-4 on DVD, and I rewatch them from time to time.
It's a sign of it's greatness that it still continues to make me laugh.
Bender is just hilarious, I want him to be real.
xD

09/04/08 10:34 PM

Is it true that if the series movies are a hit their gonna bring it back?

I heard that somewhere...

09/05/08 12:07 AM

I get the feeling they're unsure themselves what to do with the Futurama IP.

Sometimes there's talk about a cinema-wide release, some talk about more dvd's after this
batch.
At every semi-clear hint towards the future of the show, there's a dismissive [laughs]-passage in the interviews.

Ah well, at least it's already legendary.

Futurama is, by far, one of my favorite shows. ALL of the main characters are equally entertaining - which is something that's hard to find in any series. Also, I love deciphering all of the Alienese writing. I know, I know. I could've just looked it (both the alphabet & the writings) up somewhere on line, but where's the fun in that?

"LOUDER and SADDER!!!"

*sigh*

Another AMAZING, HILARIOUS show taken before its time.

Bastards keep moving my Futurama around I can't keep up! Where is it? When is it? Change makes me grumbly. Grrrrrr.

Well, if you live in the United States, it airs on Comedy Central at 9:00PM EST. I don't know about the rest of the world.

The Beast with a Billion Backs was pretty funny, not quite as much as the first DVD film, but still totally fun. Benders Game looks like an expanded "Anthology of Interest" episode... but those were pretty damned funny... I'm just excited to see the return of Mom...!!!

i love futurama

are they showing new episodes? man they must be on past my bed time

oh well

i thought benders big score was hilarious, and cute, i loved the extras and the science talk

i havent caught anything else.

Okay, I'm old and sentimental, but seriously: did Futurama ever make anyone tear up/cry/get misty?

The Luck of the Fryish
Jurassic Bark
Leela's Homeworld (okay, just the end, where they show that her parents had always been
watching out for her...I totally got misty)

I guess I'm just an old softy. smiling smiley

Bender is my hero!!

I can't watch Jurassic Bark at all these days, I end up in floods of tears.. I was so glad that a happier spin was put onto it in the first film

This, without a doubt, is Bender's biggest score. Comedy Central has ordered 26 new episodes of Futurama, the animated comedy that ran from 1999 to 2003 on Fox. posted:

The episode, Godfellas is one of my favorite episodes of any show. Its the one where Bender is floating in space with some sort of god entity.

Horrendously bad news.

"Salary Dispute Means New Voices for Zoidberg, Fry, Leela and Bender on FUTURAMA!!"

Ugh...the new ones they hire better be REPLICAS.

Aw man.. Bender's Big Score made me cry. Did not see that one coming.. Well I have felt sad after like maybe 3 of the episodes, but I didn't think I'd feel that way after this futurama movie.
I'm such a baby.

Anybody catch the return of FUTURAMA last night on Comedy Central? I was greatly relieved to see that both of the new episodes shown were funny and, for this big fan, still entertaining and clever. WHEW! I was concerned that maybe after the 4 feature films they might be tapped out creatively, and of course the bruhaha over the possibility of not having the original actors voices. I freakin' loved 'em last night. Very happy it's back. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I've always thought the 30 min episodes were far better than the straight-to-dvd films.

The new episodes were great, especially the "Garden of Eden" one, but I didn't think they would actually have Fry and Lela dating and then have Lela do ...that...with... at the end.

02/06/12 1:22 PM

i like to snu snu Turanga Leela...eye popping smiley

Never saw any of the movies but I've enjoyed this show. Didn't like the episode with the dog...

Never liked the show growing up. Gave it a shot on Netflix. Loving it.

The return of Futurama and all the new episodes are great and so funny. I love them all. It feels like nothing is lacking and the humor is as sharp as ever. More soon!!!
