Lost Highway

"Imma look at this wall slowly and stare at it, and then slowly turn around, sloooowly"

"Imma take out my cigarette, and slowly put in my mouth, and slowly take out a lighter, and slowly light my cigarette, and slowly smoke, slooooowly"

"Hello there. Let's have sex!"

"I'm going to pick up the phone...slowly...then I'm going to wait appoximately 30 long seconds to say 'Hello?' as slow as I possibly can"

Seriously though, I love Lynch.

Brokeback Mountain...nothing like dudes mumbling at each other for 2 hours.

Last Days...lets watch some burn out people fuck around in a house, while the Kurt Cobain guy goes and pisses in the woods and fucks around some more...painfully boring.

Boogeyman...now I know a lot of the horror stuff that's been released recently sucks, but this one takes the cake as the absolute WORST! Nothing happens the whole fucking time, some dude's scared of the stupid thing in his closet...and then "something" happens and it's the end. The ending was the stupidist ending I have ever fucking seen in my life. When it was over it was one of those "Seriously...THAT was the fucking END?". I can not believe I wasted a good 90 minutes of my life on that garbage. I want an extra 90 minutes tagged onto the end of my life courtesy of the people who made this ass movie.

Great film. The pacing is a bit slow but that just adds to the suspense. This film has a real Hitchcock feel and look and I think it's one of the "great" Bond movies, along with Casino Royale and On Her Majesties Secret Service.

The first hour of Wolf Creek, right up until the second that any of the violence happens.

Seriousley, the first hour of it runs like an Austrailia travel commercial/nature documentary

09/17/09 12:04 PM

God you people have no taste! Lost in Translation? Woody Allen? Burn After Reading? Shit guys.

I'll add Little Nicky, THE Final Destination and Lord of the Rings.

09/17/09 3:57 PM

Matrix Revolutions. First time I actually fell asleep in the theater.

09/17/09 5:12 PM

Know matter how much I watch it, Magnolia makes want to fall asleep, the pacing is slow that I lose track of what is happening.

Dumb and Dumberer, I had to suffer this as my younger bro wanted to watch it on DVD, just watching it made me realise how superior Dumb and Dumber actually is.

The Final Destination not even 3D can make up for this drivel.

Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Rings just 3 hrs of mountains, mountains, mountains, ooh weird creature, mountains, mountains, mountains... I could go on I mean it was 3hrs.

Pirates of The Caribbean 3 I adore the 1st film, I thought the 2nd was good, but the 3rd one what the fuck was that about!

Matrix 2 and 3 they've should of just finished with the 1st, they didn't actually need to make a sequel, we probably could of worked it out for ourselves.

jesus ice skating christ, yes it was 3 hours and it had weird things in the mountains
you must be the gazillionth person to post his brilliant unique review on the internet about how Lord of the rings was fucking long, yes that was what the movie was all about or was meant to be and it was based on an even longer book about tracking and hiking in bloody mountains, i mean fuck me senseless it's like bitching about a porn having too much sex

Are you being serious? just for the fact I say mountains 6 times all of sudden, you have to go on a profane rant about the only reason why I find it boring was because it was too long, it's an opinion and I'm sorry it's not long winded with detail analysis and broken down facts about why I don't like the film, all it was to me it was the same thing over and over, 2nd film was actually one my favourites, I just didn't like the first, saying that I haven't watched it since it was actually released so all I can remember was mountains, mountains, mountains..oops sorry, am I bursting your bubble again, I spent 3hrs watching that drivel and I am not going to go through it again, it's must be your favourite film right, I mean it must be the only reason why you've singled me out of other people just for the fact I say mountains 6 times.

Oh by the way Gone With The Wind is under 4 hours long and is one of my fave films, so I doubt the fact that LOTR was boring just for the fact it was long.

Oh and I'm a girl by the way.

Every David Lynch movie is unsatisfying, to some extent. There’s a lot of suspense and buildup, and then you don’t “get" the ending. I think it’s more about going along for the ride than having a coherent narrative one can understand. I actually like Lost Highway, great atmosphere, kind of like a modern film noir.

I've only seen Lost Highway. After the movie i looked at some "explanations" and it made the movie a bit more interesting, the movie had a bit more value, and it was good to think about it and go "Oh yeah, i get it". however the movie is just too long, too empty, too slow, nothing really happens, and it's more than 2 hours. I don't get why slow movies are supposed to be "artistic", how emptiness is art. Lynch should have cut some scenes, made some shorter, give more meaning to the story, and Lost Highway would have been awesome.

yeah, i see what you're saying..i think what it is...independent films..are usually a sign of one of 2 things...1. the directors/producers have no money and are trying to make the best of a bad situation...you can't make a lot happen with a low budget..so the movies are going to be more character driven and slow-moving..etc.
2. it's a passion project..that some director has...and studios want no part of it..because they know it can't make any money...usually because of the reasons above.

i love indie films though..i like the power of subtleties in movies. but, it can easily go the other way though.

Fantastic 4.

Limited dialogue. Boring. Mostly just special effects. Jessica Alba is the only thing worth watching it for.

Another great movie.

Wonder what's the standard for a good movie these days.

Saw (any one.)

09/23/09 4:08 PM

I´m trying to watch more "classic" movies nowadays, I saw Bullit and Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and they both were, to me, spectacularly borring and overrated.

09/24/09 9:23 AM

I love a lot of Miyazaki films, but I had much difficulty sitting through Princess Mononoke. I wouldn't mind giving the film a second chance though, since I was only 15 at the time I first saw it.

09/24/09 1:51 PM

Angels & Demons....Goddamnit, Ron Howard! Don't fucking try it again! The first one wasn't exciting at all, neither was the second one and it'll be the same with the third if it will ever be made!

09/25/09 12:50 AM

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Fuckin beautiful cinematography, awesome acting(brad pitt ftw), horrible fucking pacing. God awful pull your eyes out to stop the pain pacing. Still can't believe I watched the whole thing.

harry potter series
indiana jones series
jurassic park series
the godfather series
the terminator series
batman series(PARTICULARLY dark knight)
texas chainsaw massacre
halloween

forrest gump
goodfellas
psycho
american graffiti
breakfast club
arachnophobia
valkyrie

ANY film that has ANYTHING to do with the following people: tim burton, johnny depp, clint eastwood, spielberg, vince god-forsaken vaughn, michael bay, robert deniro, or jim carrey

i also hate any movie based off of any stephen king book. 'cause they're so shitty that they make the books look good, which i used to think was impossible.

09/26/09 5:29 PM

What exactly interests you then?

09/26/09 6:53 PM

Pirates of The Carribean (all): Fucking boring as hell. The 3rd one never ended. I thought it would end like six times before it actually ended.

Lord Of The Rings (all): I agree with whoever said it was basically all walking and fighting
