The Departed vs Infernal Affairs

I watched The Departed and Infernal Affairs in a session just yesterday but still cannot decide whether one is better than the other. What I love more about Scorsese´s vision is that the movie is set in a kind of undetermined period of time, it has classic all written over it, while I feel that Infernal Affairs won´t age as well. On the other hand IA had the thriller scenes better solved (how could they let go the morse code stuff on the american version). Both are very local: Boston and Hong Kong, which is something I loved about both.

What´s your view? Any help?

I still need to see Infernal Affairs.
I love The Departed so I'm looking forward to seeing where it came from.

Youre gonna get shocked by how similar some parts of the plot are. IA is pretty easy to be found as bitorrent on the pirate bay (I use it as the last resource for movies but this film in particular was simply impossible to be found here where I live) and still have it on my Transmission menu. Highly recommended.

Normally I would have done that already, but since moving into residence, I'm not able to download torrents anymore.
Something about sharing a network...

It's balls.

I'll be keeping an eye open for it though.

Infernal Affairs is better in my opinion and Infernal Affairs II is pretty amazing as well they did the trigoly well.

That's not taking anything away from The Departed though Marky Mark and Jack N are awesomeeee in it.

I like infernal affairs better but The departed is a good film.

I preferred the ending to IA. I think it made more sense to keep "The Mob Mole" alive to be forced to make his own decisions, instead of being bound to the gangster character or getting killed off. He's free, but he's responsible, finally. He also must live with the ghost of the slain undercover cop.

Infernal Affairs, I have the trilogy in a nice little box set of its own... Departed is nice and all. But I prefer Infernal Affairs.

I loved the Departed, I'll have to look around and see if I can find Internal Affairs
