I am however interested in the internet rumours about Johnny Depp and Tim Burton remaking Dark Shadows.

Goddamn will he stop working with johnny already? And stop doing remakes/adaptations? I love Depp but c'mon enough is enough already.

I am fed up with remakes.

the craziest upcoming remake i've heard of so far is of Ed Wood's cult classic Plan 9 From Outer Space. what was wrong w/ the first one (lovingly referred to as the worst movie ever made)? :-P

so many remakes, it's incredible. i think some of these remakes are happening way too soon. especially these days when movies are so easily accessible, from downloads and rentals, and i turned on the tv last week and saw Predator.

somebody's gonna have to be original soon, or what are they gonna remake 20 yrs from now?

Change title to "upcoming remake that puts me in the deepest fit of psychotic rage" and I'll have an answer.

Just read that David Croenenburg is re-doing The Fly again so I have to admit I'm fairly pysched for that. I thought his original remake was brillant and he's really made some great films in recent years so I'm curious to see what he does this time with it. Though I don't know if anyone will capture that role better than Jeff Goldblum

now here is a remake that i'm lookin forward to...

The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins, it's a remake of the 1941 classic starring Lon Chaney Jr. imo, this is a good idea for a remake. the original was over 60 years ago (not stuff we saw as kids), and has two academy award winners. looks like they used the special fx to enhance the story, not just to show off CGI. i think it looks pretty good.

i think i'll check this one out, but it's not released til feb 2010

here's an update on The Predator sequel from Fangoria. some interesting peeks at what the movie includes, and it doesn't mention Topher at all. is he really in it?

No offense, but there´s hardly a remake I like.

The american remake of Tarkovki´s Solaris was good. Also, George A. Romero reworked, with another director, Night of the Living Dead in the ninties to include strong women as characters and it was great because, as good as the original was (the first movie ever with a black male protaogonist), the women in it were all kind of lame. Those might be the exceptions.

But I pretty much despise them all remakes. Specially when they turn out like The Wicker Man with Nicholas Cage, and I shiver at the thought of seeing him in Bad Lieutenant.

Man, they really dumbed it down in the remake and removed the cool photography.

It's actually supposed to be a good performance and it is Herzog he's working with
