Since there is a Gaiman thread, and I don't see one yet, who here likes this mad genius? I loved Watchmen, and Thee League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series, nothing whatsoever like the movie. I have Saga of the Swamp Thing waiting to be read with The Killing Joke.

I wanna read The Lost Girls just to see how trippy and erotic it is. Anybody here see it yet?

I've read a bit of his stuff too, definitely like him a lot, Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (before that godawful film), V for Vendetta (before that godawful film), From Hell (before that mostly bleh film), a little Swamp Thing...

I have a huge soft spot for Top 10 though. Not sure why. smiling smiley

I love this man, his works are the stuff of legend.

Currently reading Lost Girls (I was given it as a christmas present). The packaging is absolutely brilliant and the artwork truly something else. I'd only recommend Lost Girls (as of far) if you are a big fan of Moore and want something "different" in regards to read. Plus it helps if you know what you are getting in to tongue sticking out smiley

After doing a bit of research he seems like a true artist, apparently 'from hell' was ten years in the making and although he has a tendancy to hate every movie adaptation the ones ive seen (from hell, the league, V for Vendetta) are all fucking awesome.
Watchmen looks amazing, i think i'll have to check out his stuff.

The only problem I have with Moore is his close-minded approach to adaptations.

Otherwise, he's a great dude with a rather large amazing beard.

QFT although the From Hell film sucked and V was very liberal compared to the source Alan Moore created... for example V sure as hell isn't as graceful in the graphic novel...

I think his attitude to adaptions is fully justified when you remember the legal hassles he was hit with over the League movie, and when you consider how "liberal" some of those adaptions have been with the source material - for most of it's 2 hours the only thing the film of From Hell has in common with the comic is the name!

I actually don't read comic books that much (which is strange cos I've worked as a comic book artist in the past) but I LOVE hearing/watching interviews with Alan Moore, the mans a legend.

Infact, here's a great interview for you: [www.stewartlee.co.uk]
