I thought that was one of his weaker books, personally. But, hey, it's still Vonnegut, so worth the read.

Has anyone read The Long Hard Road Out of Hell by Marilyn Manson? Not sure how much of it is actually true, but it makes for a good read. My one complaint is that he spends a bit too much time talking about partying and getting fucked up, but not enough about the actual music. Oh well.

It is actually throwing me off that the font is different... you can't have 7 books exactly the same then change it!

Sadly, I'm having a hard time getting through the Sookie Stackhouse books so far. I don't give a fuck what the covers of these books look like.

But my next up looks like fun...

This one is a cute, fast read. I'm starting Pride and Prejudice and Zombies next. :-)

As for Sookie's books, I flew through them. Loved them all but one.

I found that really funny - didn't realize that people ever made such a big deal about moshing and all that.
He seems to be pretty respectful during his interviews, at least the ones i've seen. That's gotta be tough considering everyone wants to bite his head off.

Fight Club's an awesome book. smoking smiley I love Palahniuk's writing style. It's so witty. ^^

Before I could pick up Jailbird, I got into another book. The Winter of Our Discontent by Steinbeck. About halfway through, and it's an amazing read so far.

Also picked up two books yesterday both by William Gibson, Neuromancer and Pattern Recognition. Anybody read anything by Gibson?

So, I mailed The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger to an over-seas friend, because I told them it was one of my favourite's (I haven't gotten onto the other parts as of yet ¬¬) and she wanted to read it. In return, she sent me this.

Anyone read it before? I haven't picked it up yet. It looks good, but I can't help feeling sceptical after the whole Twilight thing.

lol, you've pretty much picked up my two favorite William Gibson books! They're about as different from one another, as it's possible to be, but both really good stories!

I can't seem to get through the book I'm reading, From Dead to Worse. I've flown through all the other Sookie Stackhouse novels before this one, but I am having so much trouble with this one. To me it seems like the writing is written in a different way. Or maybe it is just the fact that the font is different from the other 7 is throwing me off...

Finished The Winter of Our Discontent. I thought it was a pretty good book. Not the best from Steinbeck that i've read, but pretty damn good. (tup)

The Stand was my favourite Stephen King book!

Just started Margaret Atwood's The Year of the Flood. Having trouble getting into it. So far there's not a lot of story, she's taking a lot of time to set up what the new world looks like first.
We'll see.

Last week I read Grave Sight By Charlaine Harris. It was alright for a light and predictable read. Then I read Belinda by Anna Rice writing as Anne Rampling which i quite enjoyed. I'm not sure why the novel is suddenly available at Costco (published in 1986) except that they mention R. Polanski and the protagonist falls for a 16 year old. She rationalizes some nasty situations in a way that challenges the reader to see things from a different, more open minded point of view. I didn't mind it.

I just started The Heretics Daughter by Kathleen Kent.

It took me 6 days but I finally finished From Dead to Worse!
Its probably on the lower end of my favorite Sookie Stackhouse books, but the ending was incredibly interesting so my opinion may change in the future.. I just wish I had some money so I could buy the 9th book. I really really need to know what happens next.
I'd read something else but at the moment I am out of books. I'm going home this weekend so maybe I'll grab a bunch. I can't stand not having a book...

I forgot to add "to read" whoops lol.

When I'm home I can finish books and pick another one up. But I don't have any new books with me at college, I don't wanna go bookless for the week!

Normally I am not into such literature but after I started reading, I just
couldn't stop. Harsh, realism that pushes you into her world.
I cried, laughed and thought how important it is to get out
and see the world. A reminder of how education is imperative anyway the book
is. PUSH Street slang and poetic.
It's also a movie.
