I just read Stephen King's book Cujo and I think it's definitely worth reading. I haven't read any other books written by him though, so I can't compare, but to my mind it was a very good book from him ^^. Kinda sad, but exciting. I didn't wanna stop reading it o.O.
I also saw about an hour of the film Cujo, and I think it could have been a lot better. Meh. Not nearly as good as the book.

I've been on a Camus binge. Currently reading The Plague. Also, just today, bought a copy of L'Étranger, all in French, a language I don't speak, but it's so pretty.

The Shining will scare the living SHIT out of you. The movies don't do it justice at all!

If I remember rightly, when Cujo was made into a film they had to change the ending so Tad didn't die. There was uproar at the time!

Yeah, I could definitely read that too. I've seen the movie and hmm... It's ok, but I'm sure the book is awesome.

And whaaat! Tad didn't die? o.O I didn't quite finish the film so I didn't know u.u... Hah, I wonder why they did that. In the book it was all about "the monster" in his closet getting him eventually. Blah.

"The Shining" the book is actually better than the movie and "The Stand" is one of Stephen Kings best books. Currently reading Dave Mustaine"s Autobiography

I dunno if you're much of a sci-fi fan but "The Running Man" is also a great book. Way better than that movie with Ahhnold Shwartzneregsghsulgnsser. It's by Richard Bachman (who is actually Stephen King). I dunno if you've seen the movie but the book actually takes place throughout the country as opposed to a big arena. Really good and not a long read.

Also, if you're into historical fiction, consider The Alienist by Caleb Carr.

"A serial killer is butchering boy prostitutes in New York City. Police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt enlists a reporter and groundbreaking psychologist (known as an "alienist" in 1896) to track the killer by compiling his psychological profile."

I finished Drood and Haunted recently, and I loved them. Currently I'm reading Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King, and I'm also thoroughly enjoying it. Then again, I love everything that man writes smiling bouncing smiley

Started to reread The Midwich Cuckoos by john Wyndham. After that I've The Day Of The Triffids and The Chrysalids, also by Wyndham. Haven't read him in a while, so it's interesting to see if he's as good as I remember. So far he is.

12/30/10 8:39 PM

Just Kids, the prized Patti Smith memoir. Don´t miss it.

01/03/11 11:49 AM

I'm reading This World We Live In. It's the third book in a series about different families coping when a meteor hits the moon, knocks it out of orbit and moves it closer to the earth. It's a fascinating story, aimed at young adult readers but it's very interesting. I can see myself breezing through this book in no time.

01/04/11 5:21 PM

I'm still reading Full Dark, No Stars, but I'm also currently reading Making The Wall by Gerald Scarfe. It's a fascinating collection of anecdotes and interviews and rare photos/paintings/drawings

Just finished Full Dark, No Stars....jury's still out on it at the moment.

Having a quick read of some Miss Marple short stories before starting on House of leaves.

01/06/11 4:56 PM

I'm now reading Brian Keene's Darkness On The Edge Of Town. I guess I have a doomsday fetish. That's the second book this week that I'm reading about the supposed end of the world.

01/12/11 1:07 PM

Now I'm reading the newest VC Andrews book, Daughter of Darkness. Andrews is sort of my guilty pleasure, but all the books are predictable and the same. I guess I'm waiting for the ghostwriter to change shit up... That has yet to happen though

01/13/11 12:55 PM

I'm not much of a reader.

Right now I am reading Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang by Chelsea Handler. I love her and her books are hilarious. This one so far hasn't been as funny as the other ones but I'm only in the 2nd chapter.

Wicked Appetite- Janet Evanovich

Not as good as the Stephanie Plum sagas, but still a hoot grinning smiley

Finished, all three were excellent on re-reading, though I was surprised by how much darker the books were than I remembered them being.

I'm currently reading:

I finished reading the Daughters of Darkness by VC Andrews and though it was a different theme and a bit haunting, it was still the same character and even some of the same scenarios. Kind of boring and slightly entertaining in the same breathe.

And now I'm reading Breathers by S.G. Browne. So far, I love the shit out of this book. It's very entertaining, and you end up having a little sympathy for the zombies' situation. I'm only a few chapters in but I recommend it to everyone lol

I just bought:

Should keep me busy.

I just finished heavier Than Heaven, the Kurt Cobain biography, it was really very interesting but ultimately became nearly to sad to even read.

Now I am on to Goldfinger, and and finishing Benjamin Franklins autobiography

Heavier Than Heaven was, in my opinion, the best book on Kurt Cobain. I thought it did a good job of presenting him the way he truly was, as opposed portraying him as some kind of martyr-saint.

Hope you enjoy Goldfinger. One of the most unintentionally hilarious books I have ever read. The sexism/racism/homophobia is so over-the-top, it's amazing what the mind-set was like for some people back then. Still, a very entertaining read.

Reading The Last Night Of The Earth Poems by Charles Bukowski. Enjoying it very much.

Haha, I look forward to it, I read Live and Let Die, and didn't find it necessarily racist, but he did have a way of talking that we just don't use anymore when it came to other race's.
