Civ, Tetris, Tank Wars, Wolfinstein, Mortal Kombat for the PC, Simcity for Windows 3.11 and Doom. I loved that chainsaw in multiplayer.

If anyone wants to play Command & Conquer Generals (or Zero Hour) feel free to PM me.

Paperboy, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Desert Strike, Mirco Machines, and the classic Duck Hunt! Some great games back then.

For me it though, it was all about Robocop vs. Terminator, I took me an age to finally beat Skynet. He was stupidly hard to beat!

When I saw the title "old games" I had assumed that people were going to mention Colleco and Atari games, the ones that got video games where they are today.confused smiley

Some of my favorite oldies are:

Alley Cat
Archon
Ultima IV Quest of the Avatar
Conan
Drol
Murder on the Zinderneuf
Frogger 1 & 2
New York City
Space Dungeon
Hero
Boulderdash
Super Pac Man

I could go on but the list might get a bit long so I'll leave it at that.

Spear of destiny/Wolfenstein is what started my true 3d shoot em' up love.

Jill Of The Jungle? Rise Of The Triad? Blake Stone?

And of course Quake, doom, duke nukem 1&2, Lemmings ...

I always bought those $5 shareware disks at book stores and shopping outlets

Loved playing these:
Heretic
Doom
Quake
Commander Keen
Wolfenstein

Even further back, I loved going to computer lab in elementary school; we got to play Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego, among other games. Man, that was the shit.

I'm not even going to try to list all of the badass old consoles and games I've loved through the years.

Commander Keen!
Actually I liked Keen 4 the best - although at a much older age for some reason I stumbled across keen dreams... I think it was some unreleased game. Worlds collide though - as commander keen is available on steam!

I remember having to configure himem just to get that damn game to run smiling smiley.

NES:
Bump and Jump
Excite Bike
Super Mario 3
Bionic Commando
And my favorite sleeper pick: Codename Viper!

09/05/08 6:25 PM

Super Mario Brothers 3 was sweet.

Oh heck yeah. And im still playing it today, only it got prettier graphics, and a version that fits in my pocket. Win!

All the games mentioned are pretty much awesome. I have lots of memories of making maps for Doom and Duke 3d, and playing through dial up connections and IPX.

Im surprised nobody has mentioned any of the X-Com games though. I've got Apocalypse installed on my computer now and still play it quite a bit. Amazing game.

And you know, compared to most of the games here its not quite that old, it hasnt even been out a whole decade yet, but jesus - Deus Ex has got to be the best game i have ever played.

09/06/08 5:02 AM

Probarly not so old for you :]

Crash Bandicoot
Tomb Raider
Spyro
Tekken 3
Syphon Filter
Resident Evil 1&2
Medievil

These are I played most back then.

Feh, it's nap time...

Arcade games I was addicted to:
Berzerk
Pac Man
Donkey Kong
Asteroids
Star Wars X-Wing Fighter

Computer games I was addicted to:
The original DOS version of Leisure Suit Larry
Tetris (I used to dream about falling Tetris pieces)

Edit: Oh, wait, I forgot! I was also TOTALLY addicted to Say What in Smart Games Challenge 2.

Goldeneye!!!!!

Me and my friends would play that game for days on fucking end.

Wow that was such a good game.

Then Perfect Dark came out and it was even better! Probably in my top 5 games of all time list.

Then Microsoft rushed them on Perfect Dark Zero for the launch of the 360 and I was really fucking disappointed.

There's just a shitload, I'm sure I'm not remembering even half of my favourites

X-Wing
TIE Fighter
X-COM 1 & 2
Sam & Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle etc Lucasarts stuff
Beneath a Steel Sky
Mega Man 1-3
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy games
Terranigma
Sim City series
The Incredible Machine
All the FPS stuff. Except the ones that sucked.
Battle Isle 2 (used to love to play hotseat games with 2 or 3 friends)
CivNet (again, hotseat games)
... and so on, and on, and on...

oh, and these are maybe a bit newer, but both Aliens vs Predator games on the PC - kickass! personally used to kick some ass in the AvP2 multiplayer every now and then (if there's anyone from the later-defunct [HEL] clan, hey there!) - it was just a sad example of bad netcode and lack of support (as in: some friggin' patches, please!) from Sierra.

I just recently downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog and Ecco the Dolphin on my 360.. It's good to play them, reminds me of when I was a kid.. I remember thinking that Sonic was really hard to beat when I was younger. FYI: Ecco the Dolphin is still a bitch to beat. That game has like 400 levels moody smiley It's just cool to play a little Sonic and then go into playing Splinter Cell, Halo 3, etc.. It's truly unreal how much gaming has changed in the past 10 or 15 years..

Wow...that is pixelated!!!

And when I was like 6 or 7 there was this game I use to play on Windows 3.1 called Bugs... and every time I try to tell someone about it they have NO idea what I'm talking about. I mean its a very simple game... Obviously I was like 6... but if ANYONE knows what I'm talking about... please let me know... so I don't feel crazy!
