The huge metalic buildings, the machine noises, the music (good God, the music!). Perfect. Some other favorites: Starcraft Descent: Freespace Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines (it actually requires THINKING) Doom 1 and 2 (haven't played 3) And the immortal Earthworm Jim (1 and 2), wich made my Sega Genesis worth every cent.

But really, it was the darkness of the story and the maturity at which it was handled that really sold it for me. It was absolutly amazing, and is still on constant rotation in my gaming times. (finished MP1 12 times, all difficulties done at least once) (finished MP2 14 times, all difficulties, like original better. Though Mona is fucking awesome)

I personally think that pretty much every game in the last 5-6 (or whatever) years have been overrated pieces of shit. God of War? I mean - what the fuck? Hack/Slash/solve easy puzzles/beat boss? Nothing I like about the game other than epic environments etc. COD4 was fun... But really not that great... I probably sound like a know-it-all snob, don't I?
