I love that cd there isn't a bad song on it, but saying you like OK Computer is like saying you like The Downward Spiral its basically the the Radiohead equivalent of NIN.

I love all the Radiohead releases and my favorites change from time to time, I think I've listened to "Lucky" & "Electioneering" a million times.

Actually it is my favorite...

In Rainbows fucking rules

I love OK Computer obviously. I like In Rainbows but don't love it. house Of Cards & Reckoner are AMAZING though

I saw the show at Lolla last year too-- I was with a tiny little Asian friend of mine who's very adept at getting through crowds, so we ended up with a pretty amazing spot considering we hadn't camped at the stage all day. I was in the exact wrong place to see the fireworks, so I didn't even realize it until people were talking about it afterward. Gorgeous show, and I was really glad to hear There there.

I like some of the tracks on In Rainbows (Bodysnatchers, Faust Arp, and Reckoner especially), but it's not something that really worked as an album to me. The Bends and Kid A are really great, but Hail to the Thief was my gateway album and I'm still in love with it. I used to put it on almost every night when I was 14 and just couldn't get to sleep.

Jesus, I'm trying to learn how to play Paranoid Android, and even Thom's part is a bitch! How does he manage to sing and play that at the same time? I'm starting to think that Radiohead is climbing higher into my top 10 every day...

Also I bought the re-issue of OK Computer on vinyl and I haven't gotten the chance to listen to it... but the artwork is amazing. Anyone else have it/ have opinions on it?

my favorite ok computer songs would be subterranean homesick alien and exit music for a film..

07/13/09 10:11 PM

Since liking ok computer is kind of like, a given. I'd have to say my favorite is Amnesiac. Recorded at the same time as Kid A, the song arrangement is just one part of it that gives it a completely original vibe. (& the artwork is just amazing!)

stop by my myspace and listen to the song..entitlement
very radioheadish
yeah, i'm whoring myself

In Rainbows is fucking genius!

Bangers + Mash
House Of Cards
Bodysnatchers
Videotape
15 Step

Amazing songs!

they just released a new song on their website. It's 1.70$, and proceeds go to the British equivalent of the Legions, I believe.

Its a moving song- moving in the way that Saving Private Ryan is moving, not in the way a Radiohead album is moving.

08/13/09 7:24 AM

check it, new song

I dont think its confirmed yet, but theres no way its not Radiohead. Either way, its a great song- if I had to compare it to previous Radiohead, I'd say like an ultra updated Bends style track.

08/13/09 11:58 AM

Can't fucking wait for the new album and tour!

Lolla last year was amazing!

Interview where Thom Yorke says the near future of Radiohead is in singles and EPs, not full length albums. I know you have to pay for the interview, but trust me, its in there.

It might be a Thom Yorke solo track, because apparently the band hasn't been doing a lot of stuff together.

Apparently in the tags for the mp3, the release date is listed as 8/17/2009.

Are they gonna release it like NIN did The Slip?

08/13/09 12:38 PM

In Rainbows released digitally was whatever you wanted to pay for it

I dont know, Thom Yorke's solo work relies more on a vaguely danceable electronic edge. The three guitars and live drumming point squarely at a full band Radiohead release.

I dont know how it was going to be released, but it seems like it was meant to be on an EP. Just a hunch. Either way, Radiohead doesnt seem like the kind of band that would crack down on a leak.

They might have even been the ones to release it, who knows?

And yeah, I agree that the song doesn't have enough electronic aspects to be a Yorke song, but maybe he's taking his sound in a new direction? Personally I hope it's a Radiohead album, but I've been hearing a lot of conflicting ideas. Some sources claim that Radiohead is recording another album but Yorke and Greenwood seem to be off doing their own things.

Yeah the song 'Harry Patch' was made after Thom heard about the death of the UK's oldest WW1 survivor, Harry Patch, at the age of 111. Thom was fascinated by the guys life story after watching an interview Harry did close to his death and hence Radiohead made the song in his memory.

As for what the band do next they are strongly suggesting they won't release a proper album anytime soon, as making the last few has taken a lot out of them. EP's and single songs will be fine with me, as long as they keep touring, as they are incredible live.

Sounds like they're working ala Slip with this new leak (which they probably administratered).

08/13/09 7:04 PM

The original mp3 had that date, and there was a huge file of ascii art with it, referring to Wall of Ice multiple times. Apparently, if it is a new EP, that's going to be the title of the album.

I'm freakin excited.

By the way, has anyone posted this yet?

if by that you mean they just don't think it's a viable way to release music anymore, then yeah, you're accurate winking smiley
