^ Gotta love Spacemen 3. I'm gonna see Spectrum here next week...hopefully Sonic Boom will play some old Spacemen 3 tunes. That would be great.

The Blue Angel Lounge - Into Cold Water

D'espairsRay 13

04/21/11 10:59 AM

Eh, sounds like gibberish. Not really big on the whole steam punk thing. Guitars are a little catchy though.

Can't help but love this...
White N' Nerdy

Not my favorite Weird Al song.

Negura Bunget - Inarborat

04/21/11 5:09 PM

AWESOME! Never thought I'd find another Melt-Banana fan in here.

Now if you enjoy this, you're a true friend of mine.

04/21/11 9:26 PM

Sorry, that's just not really my thing. I don't wanna say it was too heavy for me, because I've listened to heavier. I guess I just did not hear anything musically in the song that really appealed to me. I guess what I didn't like was the lead singer just didn't sound like (to me at least), he was putting too much effort/feeling behind the song. Also, the beat was a little nuts for me to be able to follow on the first couple of listens. Then again, I did hate Ruiner and most of TDS when I first started getting into NIN. Maybe if I come across that song again, I'll have a different opinion.

Exile Vilify

^ The National are a good band. Hadn't heard this song though. Thanks for the link. smiling smiley

Zaza - Sooner or Later

Acen - Trip II The Moon

04/22/11 12:18 PM

Eh, it's ok.

Serene Dream

EDIT: Samurai_Zombie, I was unaware the Locust had songs more than 2 minutes long. I'm familiar with their first two albums, I guess I missed the fact that they recently put out a couple more.

One of my favorite Kidneythieves songs (Take a Train is my fav). So simple yet beautiful.
Taking this thread an entirely different direction.

Kinda schizo song there...liked it, apart from the death-metal parts, which didn't seem to go with the rest of it.

16 Horsepower - Black Soul Choir

04/23/11 1:12 PM

16 Horsepower is one of those bands you can wake me up for in the middle of the night. Amazing stuff.

A song that you can dance to.

04/23/11 6:27 PM

That was great. Really loved the beat and I really liked the lead singer's voice. Some vocalists can't get away with screaming like that, but it really works for her. She needs to wear less makeup though. I can't see her face.

Something I dont get with lots of modern metal- why isnt it raw? Metal was so refreshing (and certainly can still be) because it was wild and intimidating. This track sounds like it was built in a studio and made for cheap car stereos. The guitars dont even sound like they're being played by anyone, until it gets to the solo which sounds like it could be written by anybody with a metal band. Thats just not metal.

Dont Push Me

04/26/11 11:06 PM

^ haha. I always find random old songs like that fun and entertaining to listen to.

The Prids - Contact

04/26/11 11:47 PM

^ That was really good...I even had to click on another song by them to check it out, so I clicked on the problem...which was also cool. Cool band. smiling smiley

whatever happened to my rock n' roll?

04/27/11 12:10 AM

That was great. I'm surprised I never heard of them before.

Lemme Smang It

That's right, smash it and bang.

04/27/11 6:49 AM

What the fuck did I just watch?

Mark E. Smith can do no wrong.

04/27/11 3:10 PM

Awww yeah. That comes from the most aptly named album I can think of. Too bad that was their only hit. Atleast we have The Petshop Boys.

Trainspotting

S'alright, nothing special, it might be a grower.

Something for you metalheads.
