^ you obviously have your views, but where you pretty much discredited Holywood which is some of the strongest MM material ever - I just got to disregard your posts. That said, Jeordie is an amazing musician, and an even better song writer. I think for a guy who left MM and pretty much had the ability to go on with huge bands (APC/NIN) and then pretty much root himself right in the Desert Rock scene, there is probably a reason he considers MM his musical soul mate. Jeordie easily could stayed working on Goon Moon fulltime or hooked up with the many projects in that scene, but he chooses to work with MM for a very good reason. Same reason many other artists choose to work with him. For every person who sees merit in something, there's a thousand people who just as quickly want to tear it down. If MM isn't for you, that's good and you know where the door is.
EMDM was a Tim Skold solo album with MM doing vocals in a style/approach he wasn't familiar with. My issues with J5 and Tim is that while good musicians, the rawness of MM's music was lost with Jeordie and it always came off as almost a completely different band without him.
THEOL was just Jeordie and MM making a few songs together, with Vrenna just helping mixing/engineer the whole thing. This wasn't a huge involved project, as evident by their last tour. It was the end of the contact with interscope and they just had one last thing to put to be free. If you saw any of the shows you could tell they were just up there having fun and weren't at all being too serious about it. The creative freedom that this band has now excited me because he's not going to be tied to the same expectations of a label (who force certain tour situations, or ways albums should be promoted/marketed) and can truly just make music that works for them. If other people dig it, awesome but in the post-label era musicians are back making art for themselves.
As for Fred, he's been tweeting for a while about studio work, especially really long nights. When asked if it was MM he confirmed it was. This has been going on since April so suffice to say he's been involved in the studio for a while. The only person not really known to be involved in the album is Ginger but everyone else is completely accounted for.
