...well there's the usual, but I went to Vans Warped tour last summer and I could honestly pick out some really bad bands (not to mention the main-stage lineup was pretty gay). I like Norma Jean (for those who know them) and Underoath, but in all reality, I think screamo music is like the dumbest thing that's happened to our culture. I don't care if it's punk, rock, rap, hardcore, metal, etc, screamo is extremely dumb and totally unnessasary to ANY song. You don't have to scream to make kids like you. It's only nessasary if the song is really good, even then...

Has anyone mentioned Health? I saw them open for NIN, and they almost gave me a headache. I'm not saying they're untalented, but their song structures suck. Piss on whoever slams the Queens of the Stone Age, they totally kick ass!

hmmmm..... I LOVE how people have formed their entire opinion of HEALTH (or ANY of the new bands that NIN endorsed) on having heard them open for Nine Inch Nails!!

First of all, to completely love a band at first listen is rare. Loving a headliner is a sure thing, since you are paying money specifically to see them, and have likely listened to them at least long enough to form a favorable opinion, become familiar with some of their music.

I have listened to health's cd for months, and believe me, the songs sound different if you have actually heard them before! I found this review of their self-titled album that sums it up nicely for anyone who is interested:

Besides the fact that Trent Reznor clearly saw something promising in them, I still can't understand for the life of me how anyone could miss the connection between HEALTH'S sound and approach to music and NIN. OF COURSE an opening band is likely to be less seasoned, has cheaper equipment and has not finely tuned a multi- million dollar production to go on tour. That is why they are an OPENING BAND!! How do you think your beloved Trent Reznor began his career?? Have some foresight, people!!!

I'm going to agree with you eventhough people seem to like Health. I saw Does it offend you,yeah and totally love them and the first i ever heard of them was at a NIN show. Same thing with Biffy Cyro-i saw them at QOTSA and thought they were amazing.

I cannot get over how bad Tokio Hotel is. Besides the main singer (who is a guy) looks lke a punked up version of Bjork and his brother looks like Bjork slash Robin Finck. The sound is excruciating to say the least and the fans are annoying as hell.

That was pretty bad.

Here's another that pretty much sucks. When I heard it, it made me think, did someone actually hear this & say, "WOW!! We have to record that song, it's awesome!!"

you know. when they sing in german they are almost stomachable. notice almost.
this by no means makes them good.

and in english, they are just terrible.

it's depressing actually. because one of my best friends RUNS some stupid fanclub thing for them, so sadly, i have to hear about them CONSTANTLY.
[he only started liking them becuase he thought the lead singer was hot. ...at the time, he thought it was a FEMALE. this is his reason for concluding his newfound "bisexuality". ergh.]

and not to mention, the showed up at the VMA's, in a MONSTER TRUCK, with THEIR FACES on it, playing THEIR music.
