Two contenders... only one honor. Don't get me wrong; there's no denying their talent, but which one do you prefer?

Skinny Puppy by far. Some of Ministry's early synthpop stuff was quite good, but overall I'm not a fan.

I vote Skinny Puppy.

Ministry. No competition.

Which one do 'I prefer'? Nice suggestion there buddy! Lemme see if I 'flashback' to their albums, I can think of a few that gems that would 'grace' us with their presence without any 'bad blood' being brought up. We wouldn't want any 'thieves' to run off with this contest. Nah I'm just messing around, I'd pick Skinny Puppy.

Skinny Puppy

I don't know... I got into Ministry first just because I heard about them a lot earlier, but once I heard Skinny Puppy, they sounded so much more unique and better. They really emphasize the industrial element much more than Ministry, who lately doesn't even seem to show it whatsoever. On the other hand, Ministry made Land of Rape And Honey. Tough call...

It's all about Uncle Al.

As much as I love the fuck out of Ministry, it goes to Skinny Puppy.

I'm a lot more of a sucker for unique sounds and atmosphere than I am to angry guitar and the like. Hell, it's why I love NIN so much too~

I know I picked SP above but I have give credit where credit is due. The first time I heard industrial music was Stigmata. I must have replayed it 10 times! It was liberating. Ministry is no slouch in the "time to rock out angrily" dept. ICYDFLSU(Live), N.W.O., the land of R+H, The mind is a terrible thing to taste are all amazing. I love their sound, and would pick them to stack wood or race cars or fight corporations from screwing everyone over in a heartbeat.

I just seem to relate more often to SP in general, that's why they won this "choose the form of the destructor" contest in my vote.

Hrm musically, it's just a matter of preference in style... if you're asking who's held up to time better, the answer is certainly Skinny Puppy... I'm still not convinced Al Jourgensen isn't some hellish muppet they wheel on stage every once in a while to keep us buying "best of" albums.

I see that I am still a minority on this site. I'm still going with Ministry, because I am more of a metalhead than an industrial fan, and also because I was attracted to Ministry by Al's straight-forward anti-Bush lyrics and the riffs that went with them on more recent material (Gateway song: "No W" off of the Rock Against Bush compilation). Also really enjoyed the late 80s/early 90s stuff.

This may sound embarrassing as part of the NIN community, but although I heard a few Skinny Puppy songs and liked them (specifically the song "Pro-Test" ), I never really got around to checking out more of their stuff and listening to full albums. I heard a couple other songs I don't remember, but didn't really do anywhere near as much for me as Ministry.

Skinny Puppy, hands down

Tough one. Skinny Puppy is a good, consistent band overall, but Ministry has some truly great tracks on mostly mediocre albums.

Skinny Puppy....

10/18/11 9:11 AM

I'm going Ministry .. too many great songs and special show memories. I like Skinny Puppy too.

Ding!!!.....we have a wiener: Uncle Al, Buck Satan, Hypo Luxa. See you in 2012.

SKINNY PUPPY
but I appreciate both.

10/28/11 7:12 PM

can't believe it, but if you go by most-played on my ipod i prefer Ministry by far!

It's hard to decide knowing how important both acts are, but as of now I find myself leaning more towards Uncle Al. No offense to any Skinny Puppy fans out there.

hmmmm,id say Skinny Puppy, even tho im obviously a Huge Al Jourgensen fan. lets be honest Skinny Puppy are the band every indsutrial artist want to be, even Uncle Al gets a boner over them.

in all honesty im not to big on With Sympathy, Last Sucker (which i felt like after buying that poor excuse for a record) or a few songs on Grande Blood, and im sure Relapse will be more of the same.

Skinny Puppy on the other hand, have always made grade A albums, and have done great tours, my two favorites of having the pleasure of attending being the Last Rights tour and the 04-05 tour for Greater Wrong of The Right

the last rights tour must have been amazing, just before their demise. the stunts ogre pulled off at the pentacle of his insanity look unreal in the few vids that were recorded

dude idk what it was real or fake, but i kept the blood of that show on my jacket as a badge for about a month lol.

yeah even tho the 04 show was excellent, i was a little creeped out in my teen years when i saw Ogre during Last Rights, the live experimentation with songs and theatrics were awesome, ive seen guys like Manson, Cooper, Pink Flyod, hell even NIN, and Skinny Puppys shows, at least imo, beat all of them out, Pink Floyd was really close tho...

I like ministry through "filth pig" but after that I don't know. I think I'd still pick ministry because they seem to have more heavy/metal stuff. I really like twitch, though, and I can't find it in stores--only iTunes...

Yeah, that's exactly what I did and they at least had almost all other ministry albums; I'll keep checking and someone will have it eventually
