Faith No More

I don't think there's a thread on these guys yet..anyway I loved this band ever since Mike Patton took over as lead vocalist. Mike has such a unique/versatile voice, when you listen to "The Perfect Crime" and then listen to "Ashes to Ashes", it doesn't even sound like the same dude. I think this band was severely UNDERATED for being such a great fucking band..

Angel Dust is one of the best albums of the 90's. Not sure I would say they were ever underrated, they were massive! They had a lot of influence as well. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that without them, bands like Korn and Slipknot might sound completely different.

Awesome fukkin band!!!
I hope to God they get back together and make a new album and tour!!!!!!

i disagree. i hope they are true to their word and never reform. it could never be like it was back then. few bands have a run of albums as superb as fnm did from the real thing. superb live too!

I don't know much about Faith No More except for Rammstein made a remix for them which I would very much love to listen to. smiling smiley I don't want to waiste my money on buying the wrong one. Rammstein's made some very great remixes, KoRn, Good God (Heartfloor Remix), Marilyn Manson, mOBSCENE (Saurkraut Remix)& Rob Zombie's, Spookshow Baby (Black leather Cat Suit Mix) all are very good so I know Faith No More's is good. R+

These guys fucking rocked! They were ahead of their time. I have to disagree with some of you guys about this band getting back together. Some bands can make a come back but those that don't...Metallica...IMO....total ruin all their past accomplishments. Yeah, yeah, for some people it won't diminish the group, but for ppl like me, I end up hating most of music in general. Yes I'm shallow.

I love 'The Real Thing'.... Billy Gould had some good bass lines.

10/11/08 3:35 PM

The Real Thing was awesome... but Angel Dust was the best.

And did anyone ever see the video to Falling to Pieces? Weird shit.

10/11/08 10:05 PM

I love "Midlife Crisis".....such a great song!

10/12/08 12:31 AM

FNM is super.. i would say of all the post FNM projects that have captured my heart and mind, Peeping Tom would be the one.. seeing them live in a small venue was fucking great.

When Newstead left and the band went on a hiatus (97-03). They came back with St. Anger, which again 'in my opinion' was total and absolute shit. They left their roots, which isn't a bad thing, to try new things. They failed. Their not that diverse of musician's so they have a hard time going out of their 'range' of music.

I think both albums were mega uber!

Oh man, it's weird - I;m listening to Angel Dust right now... Kindergarten... They were insanely good. I've heard new Crudo piece with Mike Patton. Quite alright, but I would love to hear at least one more FNM album sad smiley(( Yeah, I'm one of those suckers...

Possible FNM reunion??

That would be dope

If they got back together I'd be so happy. In my opinion if I had to pay all the money in the world to go to that show it'd be well spent grinning smiley

12/30/08 7:54 PM

I looked for a thread about Faith No More but there wasn't one sad smiley so I decided to start one. I don't know about anyone else, but I really love this band. I love how they take all different styles of music and mash them together to make beautiful songs. Also I'm a huge fan of Mike Patton's voice and his lyrics.

Actually, Faith No More, except fort the "Real Thing" era, was really underated... Think that the "funk-metal" teen audience of Faith No More at that time was not really ready to follow and understand the deep sense and work on a piece of art like "Angel Dust"... The dumb guys on MTV might have said "Shit ! where's the Epic easy metal sound ?... What's that screaming, growling and violence mixed with that fine parts of piano and synthetizers ! It's too profound for our shitty audience " The band failed to make a hit (well Easy was a hit but it was too late, the band lost their Red Hot Chili Peppers fanbase)but "Angel Dust" had a deep impact on how a tagged "metal" music can differently sound and be... Yes one of the greatest albums of the 90's...

I just got Angel Dust for christmas and it's amazing. Caffeine is my very song off of it. I find the lyrics to be really meaningful and the music is pretty epic. Oh and of course Midlife Crisis! How could I forget that song. It's one of my favorite FNM songs, if not my favorite.

Angel Dust is amazing. Midlife Crisis and Falling to Pieces are my favorite songs of theirs.
I am sickened that they appeared on VH1's "100 Greatest One Hit Wonders" list. Boo!

Oh boy, they are certainly on my top 5 list of fav. bands. I LOVE The Real Thing and Album of the Year. Those two albums were constantly in my rotation for about 6 years straight!

01/03/09 8:49 PM

yes! the real thing is also an amazing album and the song the real thing is absolutely beautiful. i think that it is about writing songs, at least that's what I relate it to. Anyone else have a theory?

Faith No More are a favorite of mine. King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime is my favorite, but seriously all their Patton albums are amazing. This past summer I found the Aussie tour edition of Album of the Year at a flea market for $2. Really amazing find.

In my opinion faith no more is one of the most important rock bands, with sonic youth, in the las tweny years. For their influence, and the enormeous size of his work, always laboring in the edges of new rithms.
