madonna gets on my nerves at this point
i don't need some 50 year old woman waving her crotch in my face
it is fucking disgusting

don't get me wrong
i adore vintage madonna and grew up listening to her
and i have great respect for her place in musical history and her older work
however, there comes a time when every artist needs evaluate what they are really bringing to the table
and i right now i feel it is nothing

music should mean something and bring some sort of feeling
the only feeling she brings about in me right about now is disgust.

she and her crotch need to fucking retire
they are both irrelevant.

At this moment in time Madonna is my least favourite human being on the planet.

I mean, her and Guy Richie are splitting up, the news said it's because he didn't want to adopt ANOTHER publicity stunt/child, which is absolutely fair. Sometimes a guy wants his OWN legacy.

I say the children are just publicity stunts since this is obviously not a genuine woman were dealing with her. She coats herself in makeup, probably fills her face with botox and covers her tracks with airbrushing all to look a little younger. Well in my eyes any person willing to be so false surely isn't adaopting third world children for any other reason than to look good in the eyes of the press.

Ah I'm struggling to put my thoughts into words here.

plox to be die, madonna

10/16/08 6:39 PM

Madonna is a publicity WHORE and her music sucks harder than a vacuum cleaner...

I'll probably get flamed for admitting this, and perhaps it's the 80s in me. But I'm a fan. Not so much the last few albums, but I thought her output from 90-00 was some damn fine electronic music production.

10/17/08 10:20 AM

i will always love the ray of light album. it's so good.

Same here! Ray of Light and Music were both EXCELLENT electronic albums. I grew up with Madonna and Like A Prayer was one of the first albums I ever owned (and still remains one my favorites) Unlike many pop stars today, Madonna falls into that rare category where she writes her own material and remains in control of her empire like career. She built her career from scratch, unlike others that start out "hey, you look sexy! let's teach you how to sing and sell records!" Why do you think she has lasted almost 30 years?
But yes, her past few albums have not been up to par. There are some good tracks however. Hard Candy was a let down for me. But, she will always be cool in my book.

10/17/08 12:37 PM

i love me some old school madonna. and i love the video for 'frozen' (chris cunningham directed it, what's not to love?) but the song not so much. she has major identity problems. i just heard she was getting a divorce. hope she signed a pre-nup cause she is worth alot more money than her husband and his shitty movies. and i do agree she is a publicity whore, but that doesnt make me distaste her older music.

10/17/08 12:28 PM

Publicity and Identity Whore. I don't think there's much left to say, that's what I'd generalize her as these days. She's come a long way since the 80's. But I do like a few of her songs like "Hollywood" and "Like A Prayer" - she has done some very cool records. But those "Hard Candy" and "Confessions On A Dancefloor" albums I really don't care for. It's all fabricated and plastic.

fuck, yes!

'erotica' is and has been my favorite record of hers for almost 20 years (geez, i feel old). 'confessions' was ace and 'hard candy' is double plus fun.

yay, madonna!

Agreed 100%. Those albums are great. I love COADF too... Addictive, easy on the ears, fun, pure feel-good-music. Hard Candy didn't impress me either, but it does have a few nice songs.

I respect Madonna because she's working her ass off, LITERALLY, to stay on top. She will probably keep recording in her 60s. I wonder if any of today's pop princesses will last another decade, being the cheap interchangeable bitches they are...

I hope the divorce won't get ugly. For the children's sake.

10/18/08 10:37 AM

No...I've never been a fan of hers. I don't care for dance music.

10/18/08 3:22 PM

She's basically a female version of Bono...that's a bad thing btw

10/18/08 4:05 PM

"I Love New York" is a great song...

Bono is a thousand times more talented and intelligent than Madonna even when he's drunk. Madonna is a like a middle-aged stripper with a voice.

I loved Madonna in the 80's...but also a lot of other manufactured type artist back then...more show, less substance. She had great videos and catchy pop songs.

I admire her as a business woman...the art of re-inventing is hers.

But she is now at an age where her gimmicks put me off. Trying to rap and shit makes me cringe. I am ready for her to act and dress her age...she doesn't have to look dowdy...just real.

10/29/08 7:35 PM

Yes, I'm a fan. I saw her for the first time in concert this month and loved every minute of it.

I was bored last night and started clicking around. I came across this: [gallery.candy-store.org] a Madonna fansite. What makes it different from the others is that it has a bunch of pics of the material girl before they were photoshopped.

and I guess they couldn't save this one:

That thing you said about the last pic made me laugh.

03/30/09 10:24 PM

she still looks great for her age and here is the madonna thread.

03/31/09 1:38 AM

i'd still hit it, and hard!

03/31/09 3:30 AM

She may enjoy stealing children and it's quite possible that bees fly out of her mouth whenever she speaks, but hey. Tap.

05/04/09 11:06 AM

As pop goes - she is a pioneer and pushed many boundaries. Her attitude sucks but it got her to where she is today. She copped a lot of flack for being controversial but told the industry where to shove it - so for that I love her. Shame everyone has to get old, yet I believe she accomplished a lot in her years and will be remembered for a long long time. At the end of the day, the woman has talent.

05/04/09 11:25 AM

i like madonna minus hard candy.
ray of light is great music though.

05/04/09 11:37 AM

I saw her live in Miami FL, I am not a huge "fan" of Madonna's but I most certainly have a great respect for her. She is 50 years of age and still putting on an amazing show, doing dance moves most 20 year olds can't do.

thumbs up

she's past it now. she's making the same lame bullshit pop songs britney and gaga are making. someone with so much talent for all her aged years should be creating something a little more creative and unique i'd think, but no, she's just out for money like every other pop whore out there.

fuck her shit. it's old like her now. maybe she had some talent in the 80's... now she just gets producers and guest performers to fill her albums like every other loser on the billboard charts. yeah she's making money, but she's lost all her 'musician' cred. she's just another boring performer selling forgettable shitty pop songs.
