Fuckin' awesome news. Ten has been a constant companion since i first heard it back in the mid 90's i'll have to find out whats on it!
Thanks

i think Ten has become very underrated among the PJ fans as most feel No Code and Yield are their best work.

it's hard to believe that album is almost 20yrs old!!!fuck some bands don't last 5yrs,their the next rolling stone's.

Pearl Jam is one of those bands that really really matter to me...started listening to them when I was 14,so yep they helped me get through the teenager shit hehe and now 10 years later I still fuckin love them.
Best birthday pressie ever (so far): PJ tickets for their Berlin Show 06, first PJ concert I´ve been to since they didnt play here for a freakin long time .
Boyfriend asked me to marry him on that concert <3 You can tell I´ll never forget that.

Pearl Jam is awesome. I believe "Vs." is their most underrated album and I love it. They just recently performed on VH-1 honoring the Who and they performed "Love Reign O'er Me" and "The Real Me" absolutely fantastically. Great band.

You know, I actually think they did better than the Who did that night.

Ten. That does it for me.

Edit...
yeah, can`t wait for the reissue

their finally releasing the unplugged dvd with the super deluxe edition in march,it's about time!!!

02/20/09 5:11 PM

is anyone thinking of splurging the $140 and getting the box set from them? I can't make up my mind. It's a nice bonus that they may sign it. hmmm...

There are .mp3s of Eddie Vedder performing Hurt out there in cyberspace. The version I heard is from his solo acoustic tour, and it's fantastic. He says some nice things about Trent before he starts the song, too. I think he performs it in a slightly lower key, as he sings it in his baritone range.

PJ is pretty awesome. Highly influential in my life. I'd say Ten and Yield are my favorites.

"Like a cloud dropping rain I'm discarding all thought. I'll dry up, leaving puddles on the ground"

There was a period of my life in which Ten was played in pretty heavy rotation, but I never really got into them beyond that. I think Eddie Vedder has made some questionable artistic choices, but the dude's got soul.

Another Pearl Jam fanatic here! grinning smiley

I'd heard their earlier singles on the radio from Ten & Vs. (who hasn't), but didn't really become a fan until Yield. One listen to "Given To Fly" and I was sold! grinning smiley I even got a tattoo of a yield sign on my wrist. :x Sadly, I've only seen them once, back in June of last year in Columbia, SC.

Anyway, I saw some people wondering about Eddie's version of "Hurt," so here it is [www.sendspace.com] .....and yeah, he does say Trent is from Chicago..I chuckled when I heard that.."silly Eddie!" smiling smiley

Ah yes, majorly popular when I was in h.s. (91-95) One of the top 2 bands there (with U2). Got into them when they started, in 91. Liked the first 2 albums big time. The rest I can do without.

It's sunny here in Pittsburgh and Pearl Jam is definitely my 'summer band', therefore, I am listening to them. 3 weeks left in the semester then I'm home free and ready to experience all of the amazing summer concerts. If only Pearl Jam would tour this summer...

within the past couple of days - now that the Ten re-release has gotten me obsessed again - i just "woke up" to how awesome Binaural and Riot Act are. "You Are" and "Sleight of Hand" are two of my all-time favorite PJ songs now.

04/03/09 1:39 AM

it may be my cloth ears but i can't hear that much difference between original ten and redux ten confused smiley

me too, not much difference, maybe needs a few more listens.

04/03/09 12:50 PM

its less reverb drenched. riot act is actually my favorite pearl jam record and 'you are' is a phenomenal song

04/03/09 4:32 PM

I love PJ and got fixated on Jeremy after seeing the uncut video. So chilling. I have Ten and Vs. on CD, so I probably won't buy reissues.

04/03/09 9:30 PM

the differences in the Ten re-mix absolutely astound me. some obvious differences:
- vocal mix in the latter half of Jeremy
- acoustic guitar sound in Alive
- guitar mix in Once
- chorus of Why Go - especially the first one

also, make sure you're listening to the second disc - the first one is the old mix winking smiley

pearl jam !! iv seen them 3 times.. everytime with my dad
he's a groovy old dude (my dad not eddie, but eddie's pretty groovy too)

hard to mix up as one is stored at the start of the cd booklet and the other is stored at the back end. and the redux one has the extra tracks. i could probably still mix them up though confused smiley

04/04/09 5:52 PM

I got the Deluxe CD/DVD set thumbs up

04/05/09 8:11 PM

love the boxset, think it's really well done.
and for some reason the Mookie Blaylock trading card gave me a tickle.

04/06/09 12:26 AM

Ten was a remarkably sharp debut and more than enough to hold my attention through the years. Oh, and the album's fantastic on Rock Band!
