You must try to go when they have their next tour. Pearl Jam live, while a very different animal than NIN, is also one of the most excellent live acts out there. Did you know Ed's doing some upcoming solo shows? He did some that were very good last year and he's going out again, and Liam Finn will be opening again.

the great thing aboot PJ live shows is the setlists always change, what a great live band!

The back story behind brother claims that the song almost tore pj apart. Glad that didnt happen!

I used to listen to Pearl Jam years ago then got out of them when No Code came out. lately the few songs I have heard on the radio impressed me. I bought there last album but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

Pearl Jam`s my favorite Band next to NIN!!!! This year I will see them live... both of them.

05/12/09 2:20 PM

dude, pearl jam is like the new soundtrack of my life! "once" and "even flow" and "alive" and "go back" and "jeremy" kinda are badass... my brother is obsessed with "jeremy", we can't go a day without listening to it.

Pearl Jam`s Ten was the second Tape (first was G`NR- Appetite..). I got it from my older sister when it came out in 1991. I still have the copy in my car.
It sounds ugly after the years, but I love it.

Jeff was apparently not badly hurt. He got a cut on his head: he's probably more rattled then anything else. He lost $3000 in cash and over $4000 in gear. Pearl Jam is in the studio now recording an album, and Jeff had just made a run to a Guitar/Music Store loading up on new stuff, probably to record with.

Sounds to me like someone KNEW he was making a shopping run, so they knew he'd have money on him, and they knew what they were looking for among his stuff.

Fuckers. Leave the bass player alone.

great band. may see em in august in toronto.

Pearl Jam is great and all, however some of their albums are actually kinda poorly done.

Maybe it was because I listened the their newer albums first, but when I eventually got around to listening to Ten, (was just expecting a greatest hits album of the same boring pearl jam shit) I was blown away, that album was fucking bad ass in every aspect. One of my favs.

However I'm disappointed they couldn't do better than that in any of their future albums, or even come remotely close. I don't know if they ran out of material, or just don't give a shit about out doing themselves.

Either way I think it'll be cool seeing them live.

06/06/09 5:12 PM

Vitology came close, but yeah, Ten was their greatest.

However, my favorite Pearl jam recording is their Penn State Live 2003 release. All of their live energy pours onto that record, and McCready isnt afraid to let loose.

I've been enjoying the new mix of "Ten." Don't know if I like it better than the original, but I do like the new take on this classic album. It sounds more like vs./virology.

06/09/09 2:55 PM

one of my favorite bands

Fixer is on myspace now, sounds like nothing much has changed from the "Avacado"

07/20/09 7:00 AM

I've loved these guys since I was 12.

Their material has grown with me over the years. I appreciate the later records, as much, or even more so than their early material. I guess it just seems more relevant to me.

I'm excited for the new record. "Got Some" is pretty badass.

So, O2 Shepherds Bush was sold out in under 10 minutes, and my ass was in the queue the entire time.

Does anyone have a spare ticket for either O2 arena or Shepherds Bush that they'd like to sell?

Merged the PEARL JAM TOUR with this existing PEARL JAM thread. FYI.

Jeremy is such an emotional song for me, and the music video was very well done.

07/25/09 12:45 PM

They used to be my favorite band 10 years ago. I had 3 of their albums.
I always liked Better Man, Jeremy, Off He Goes and Nothingman.

07/31/09 9:02 PM

So, "The Fixer" is a great song. Has a very retro-pop vibe going on to me, which I would not expect from Pearl Jam. Still, great song.

Target is doing a special edition release of the album. If you buy the album at target, you'll get a code to download the entire album on Rock Band on Xbox 360 or PS3.

Anyone else have any favorites off the new album?

"The Fixer"

(Alice In Chains are back in a good way too. It's a good year for 90's music fans.)
