Over the course of 19 years…? that seems about right to me. Session musicians get a lot of work when they are really good at what they do. Because it is about the work, not the image. (Can't say that about a lot of people in the industry.)

i guess you're right. he's done a hell of a lot. i can't really see him being hired to work with the veronicas and katy perry etc., but who knows?

Damn. This is really awesome! As with a lot of y'all, I wish I had $75,000 lying around!

I want him to join my band! haha

the $50 seems cool but I'll probably end up going with the $15. Saving up for NIN/JA tour and all...

03/03/09 2:38 PM

Since 1972

I have the first single which anybody can get for free from Josh's website, and it is amazing!
I love it!

03/04/09 2:05 AM

-Beep beep- ;l Lol.

03/24/09 8:05 AM

shouldent this disc be out by now? im waiting to pay my $75,000

03/24/09 1:32 PM

so it's the 24th... why can't we buy the album yet???

03/24/09 9:14 PM

ALBUM IS FINALLY AVAILABLE! GOGOGO DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

It's fucking good! I bought the $15 package. grinning smiley

03/24/09 10:40 PM

I'm a bit disappointed by it - I think that "I don't think that's OK" is the best song. It sounds like The Offspring rubbed off on him a bit (I love them, don't take that in a bad way, but their more recent stuff is a bit poppy). Either way, it's not bad by any means and the man deserves our support.

03/24/09 11:44 PM

DLing it now. (It would help if I ever remembered my Topspin password. eye rolling smiley)

03/25/09 1:32 AM

Got it, now listing to it slowly, be nice if it was on vinyl.. (have thing for vinyls)

03/25/09 2:11 AM

i liked the new record. But let´s be honest: it´s not very original.

03/25/09 2:50 PM

Awesome, I'll buy this tomorrow. smiling smiley I'm tempted to buy the $50 package so that I can talk to Josh on the phone. tongue sticking out smiley

03/25/09 4:03 PM

I did the $50 option but just to support him--I don't really want to talk to him I have nothing to say!

03/25/09 3:29 PM

So, you're just gonna send him to voicemail when he calls?

Nah, I would be polite but just probably say hi and thanks and that's it--not take up his time. IMO he doesn't need those gimmicks, he's an amazing musician and I would have bought it anyways.

Besides, would you want to talk on the phone with a weirdo fan?

i don´t think you have to be a weirdo to buy that package... maybe you just want the oportunity to say something to him, something important. Not just "oh my god you are like my favourite drummer ever, like i can´t believe i´m talking to you" tongue sticking out smiley

03/25/09 4:15 PM

You should talk to him for the 5 minutes! He's really funny. If he truly didn't want to talk to anyone or thought it would be a chore he wouldn't have put it in there.

It's only 5 minutes, you're not going to be bothering him. Get your money's worth! :-P

03/25/09 4:17 PM

Also, Josh is weirder than any of us. Combined.

03/25/09 7:29 PM

um can anyone confirm if he actually calls you? How much of those packages are real ? I'm guessing none, but if he calls I'm totally going for it and having him do my answering machine greeting.

According to his site and several interviews, yes, he's totally serious about following through with all of these (if they actually sell). Go for it!

Well, if you're scared about getting the $50 package because you think it's not real then you're missing out on a great opportunity to talk to the man.

Enough people out there are believing his packages are real since he sold out all of his $250 one...and the $20,000 one!

Someone is going to play miniature golf with Maynard! grinning smiley

I just spoke to him.... *dies*

And that's what went on [forum.nin.com]

Man, I can't get enough of this album, it's on repeat all day. Favourite songs are 2002, It's Fucked Up and All Goddam Day.

03/30/09 5:24 AM

I need a new haircut. Wondering if I should take the 1000$ edition...

03/31/09 4:40 PM

Just got off the phone with Josh and I gotta say -- I enjoyed the call. He's a genuinely funny and nice guy. Well, at least on the phone to someone who purchased the album. smiling smiley Said his girlfriend told him he should have charged more after seeing all the phone calls and lunches he had to do.

Finally finding out who was arguing and what the argument was about at the end of "Sugar Pitch Cortini" was worth the call. smiling smiley

Totally!

04/01/09 9:58 AM

Well, Shit. He didn't tell me not to tell anyone so here it goes...

(Sorry if I'm spoiling it, Josh...if you even read this stuff sometimes)

I hope I have all the details correct:

It was staged.

The two people "arguing" are Trent's and Josh's assistants. During the tour they started doing that to mess with people and goof around. First time Josh heard it he was walking past a closed door hearing the two of them screaming at each other. He went in to see what was up and they filled him in on what they were doing: Arguing for shits and grins just to see where it goes.

Josh wanted to get that on film and told them about it. So he set up his laptop in a "Blair Witch" shot facing the corner so it looks like the camera was left running and picked up the audio from a conversation you weren't supposed to hear. He started the recording and sat there waiting for them to start arguing -- and that's what the fake argument is about: Not knowing when Josh turned on the recorder and telling them to start arguing. smiling smiley

If you listen to the argument at the end of the video again, it starts "It's been going" and "How would I know it's going and he hasn't said a word about it". The rest just falls into place.

Aaron North is the guy at the end "breaking up" the argument/fight.

Josh mentioned he loved reading the comments on YouTube where people guess who was arguing and how most people thought it was Trent coming in to break it up.

So there it is...one huge joke. smiling smiley

Oh, boo. I guess sometimes it's better not asking.
