Any fans of Puscifer?

The first time I heard "Queen B" I thought it was one of the weirdest songs i've ever heard. But damn, I love it now! I think it's a sexy song tongue sticking out smiley

I really like "Trekka" and "DoZo" too...

Has anyone heard the whole album? If so, what are your thoughts?
V is for Vagina.....gotta love the title, haha

V for Vagina was incredibly disappointing. I think the only track I liked at all was Queen B. The two songs from the Underworld soundtracks (Rev 22:20 in particular) blew me away - if the album had been anything like those songs it would be one of the coolest things I've ever heard.

But instead it sounded like Maynard fapping in a studio for 50 minutes.

Definitely a let-down, for sure.

That's too bad... I actually haven't heard the entire album. Just a few songs, and I really liked the few songs I heard!

You're right about "Rev 22:20" that's such a great song!

09/05/08 11:21 PM

50/50 for me some great songs mixed in with some fairly ordinary ones. Like Captain Molotov said if it were more like the 2 songs from the Underworld soundtracks then it would of been kick ass.

I guess I'm one of the few who enjoyed the Puscifer album. I wouldn't mind another one after the next Tool release(since APC is finished). Standouts for me were Trekka and Drunk with Power. Sour Grapes definitely is a grower too.

I love Puscifer. I found it to be a great album!

I'm totally obsessed with Puscifer. Unfortunately, its not very loved due to it being such a drastic change from APC/Tool. Most Tool fans have this retarded god-figure idol thing imagined for Maynard and are confused/sad/angry when they see him produce Puscifer stuff. They don't get it, when there's nothing to get.

I enjoy the album as well as the remix album. Great stuff.

09/06/08 3:43 AM

I havent picked up the remix album yet...i may have to do that this weekend.

I only like Momma Sed tongue sticking out smiley rest of the album kinda bores me

09/06/08 4:25 AM

I was a bit disappointed on the first listen, but later on realised that it's a grower. I love when albums turn out that way smiling smiley now I really enjoy it.

keep meaning to get the remix album, have heard good things.

I didn't like the Underworld tracks, actually.

I think my favourite tracks on the album are Indigo Children and DoZo.

09/06/08 11:08 AM

I like the Cuntry Boner song.

(It's on the youtube video list for Puscifer.)

09/06/08 7:43 PM

Indigo children.. enough said.. Maynard rocks!!

I'm in love with the Momma Sed remix on V is for Viagra

I hear ya. I think that's what it is. People are so used to Maynard doing Tool/APC, that something like Puscifer is such a drastic change and it might be hard for some fans to get used to.

I definitely wanna listen to the whole album, cause I do like the songs i've heard so far. I didn't really at first, but they've really grown on me!

I love V Is For Vagina, but V Is For Viagra has to be my favorite, I have been known to love remix albums. I've been trying to go to Puscifer's webstore but it seems to be down at the moment? Anyone else have this problem?

09/10/08 3:16 AM

I really like V is for Vagina, its a nice chilled out lets hit the booze record.

09/10/08 6:14 AM

I thought it would be better than it is. The only song that I can listen to is "Indigo Children". And I wish there was Renholder's mix of "The Undertaker" instead of this original one, there would be two good songs on this not very good album. tongue sticking out smiley

puscifer is wierd, not wierd like tool, but definitively wierd, is a hard to listen album, but not bad, still maynard is a genius,

09/10/08 12:09 PM

Love Puscifer, I bought the limited edition wallet the other day actually.

Show you the difference 'tween my gun 'n my pistol.

09/11/08 3:23 PM

i'll support anything Maynard puts out.

09/12/08 11:57 AM

I agree Fathom I likes the maynard...Of the two, I have to say...I prefer Viagra over Vagina. Although I KNOW that Vagina would not have been possible without Viagra (christ LOL...this is sounding so damned gutterish) AHEM...I like the REMIXES better. I think they are what the originals were meant to be...TREKkA is positively wicked and almost Year Zero/Terminator on the Remix album ... you can see these android/half man half human things just moving on through...over the landscape with their rifles or whatever...

I hated the V for Vagina album at first and i only liked Cunty Boner after expecting an album style like TOOL or the Underworld songs and APC remixes done by Renholder. But it's grown on me personally over time.

Does anyone know if Maynards touring as Puscifer any time soon?

09/12/08 1:48 PM

I think its alright. Gotta pick up the remix album soon.

I love the merch on puscifer.com.

I get tired of people comparing V is for Vagina to a Tool album. It's not f-ing Tool! (I know that's not what you are doing). I love the album, haven't picked up the remixes though. Vagina Mine is awesome, love the bass in that.

09/12/08 7:09 PM

My favorite has to be 'Drunk With Power'.
It is the most serious/funniest song ever.
lmao.
I love black pimps.

09/12/08 7:22 PM

The 2 underworld songs are pretty awesome, Rev 22:20 and Undertaker remix. As far as the rest of the album goes though, if you're looking forward to hearing another Perfect Circle or Tool, do yourself a favor and don't get your hopes up. If you're looking for something groovy, new and outrageous, by all means, dig in! The over all sound of the album has goofy deep vocals and thumping beats. It's entertaining to say the least. I'd give it 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

does anybody here own V is for Viagra: the remixes? I have yet to pick it up, but it looks pretty promising! lol.

Yeah I agree with you...

I think that's the whole point why Maynard would want to do something like Puscifer, to get away from comparisons to Tool and APC. And why would an artist like Maynard want to do so many different projects that are exactly the same? He wouldn't, of course. He wants to have different avenues of expressing himself, that have nothing to do with each other.

I respect and support what Maynard does, cause he's fuckin' awesome, in my humble opinion winking smiley

09/12/08 11:08 PM

I think it's the first track on V, but i was listening to it at like, 2AM(stoned) on headphones, and somewhere in the song is the sound of someone banging on a door. I was freaking out. I had to stop the song and rewind it a few times until I realized. I wish more music would be an experience like that.

09/13/08 7:48 PM

^ there's a Tool song that used to do something like that to me... wasn't Sober (wasn't the talking thing) - can't think of which song now, having a senior moment. But it always sounded like my mum's noisy car coming up the drive and I'd glance at the window every damn time even though I knew it was just the song.
