Maynard's ego would never let that happen.

I lol'd hard. Seeing APC open for NIN in 2000 was awesome. You missed out.

Someday I hope to encounter Paz so that I can propose to her.

I wish I had seen APC and NIN together, but I'm very much doubting that'll ever happen again.
It'd be nice if APC would rejoin, because I can't say I'm really enthusiastic about either of Billy or Maynard's side projects.

Wow, I didn't really know about APC until a couple of years after I'd seen them open for nin. Crazy, huh? Me going to the nin show was freakish luck that happened the day before the show; apparently a couple backed out of going with this group and I got to go for FREE! First nin show. But that's my story before I go way off topic. It's just been my luck with a lot of bands I see.

I've only heard Thirteenth Step.

i don't listen to it constantly because I want it to remain fresh whenever I hear it.

I kinda burned out YZ & Ghosts that way...

i actually love the puscifer and ashes divide projects.

a lot of people claim ashes is billy 'trying to sound like maynard', but billy is one of APC's driving forces, he does a lot of the vocals in APC alongside maynard, and the guitar work is pure billy as well.

puscifer on the other hand is great, a group with a revovling door of collabborators, and always something strange and interesting coming out of it. the viagra remixes are very cool too. can't wait to hear the new album.

still, i hold out hope for a fourth APC album in between the next releases from their new bands. stranger things have happened.

In my opinion A Perfect Circle is one of the best bands nowadays. It sorts of saddens me that they didn't do anything in a long time, but I'm sure they'll come back... sooner or later.

I saw APC during their tour for 13th Step. They played a looong time, but their set was cut short because of some sounds rules. Idk it was like 12 or something, which was lame. But it was in the center of this shopping outdoor mall type thing for old people haha. Maynard was more talkative then what I was expecting.

Love APC..got to see them open for NIN in '00. My only complaint is that they never made enough music sad smiley

10/01/08 2:32 AM

APC was great. Too bad they pretty much went their separate ways. I liked the majority of their songs. Even a bit of the eMOTIVE ones.

APC may come back....I hope so smiling smiley

Absolutely!

I saw APC when they opened for NIN - before their first album was released. The crowd sucked though - everyone was just yelling at maynard and yelling "tool". They were amazing though, I got a chance to see them 5 more times after that - they were an awesome band and I will always love their music.

I was completely taken over by MDN when it came out, and those songs meant more to me than I could ever describe..... I felt at the time that I was living those lyrics. ANyway life happened and I brought 13 step and EMotive but never sat down and listened to them. I did however sit down to watch the DVD when I brought it and all I remember was how weird it was and far from the life changing experience that MDN was.

I was cleaning out my closet last week and found a bunch of video tapes that I had saved but they weren't labeled so I had no clue what was on them (but I knew one of them was would be of the APC show in nyc in 2001.) I was right and I would love to share it w/ everyone but I am so technologically retarded, where would I even begin?

Anyway, the show brought back so many memories, my life back then was so lost and hurt *deep exhale* sooooo many regrets but the APC music is/was so healing. I haven't listened to MDN in YEARS but there was this one one piont in my life where I would live and breath it, I would have the cd player on repeat and listen over and over.... I NEVER did that with any other artist.

Watching the show reminded me that there is a lot of sensitively in their music and even though I love TOOL I never really connected to it on the same deep level, both bands have very little in common as far as I'm concerned. Also, this show was very no frills, it really made the music come alive even more b/c the music was the main focus and PAZ's violin solo's ~intense, calming, and simply beautiful.

I could go on and on about APC but basically I logged on here to see what's new with the band....

I Love APC, Live DVD Coming soon? i hope so

10/08/08 2:22 PM

APC!! This band is so relaxing to listen to when it's raining outside. I don't understand how people say they can't tell the difference between this and Tool. Maynard's vocals are absolutely breathtaking with APC

maybe the reason why Josh is leaving now is because APC is reuniting?!! Perhaps a Fall 2009 release. Hey, a guy can dream right smiling smiley.

10/09/08 9:10 PM

A perfect circle is great stuff!
They make me think of a more rock oriented NIN.

Yeah, we can all dream lol

I would love for a reunion, but they need to get Paz back, she's amazing. Sorry but fuck Jeordie, couldn't stand him in APC or NIN. Just my opinion though.

I believe Thirteenth Step to be one of the greatest albums in my life time, and I wish some material would be produced by them, however Maynard is currently doing other (good admittedly, but not the level of APC or Tool) projects with Puscifer and so on.

My favourite song would have to be Pet, but by no means do I mean to diminish the appeal of any other great material they have released.

10/10/08 9:23 AM

Love APC and I do wish they'd make more music. sad smiley
3 Libras especially is a beautiful song.

10/10/08 9:26 AM

APC is a great band. One of my friends sent me their albums and they're just amazing.

The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes they combine song lyrics and put them in the same song...for the entire album. I never understood why. It's like listening to the same song but with a different beat behind it. But I can't understand WHY they'd combine the lyrics. Does anyone know?

Do you mean Pet and Counting Bodies...?

Wikipedia says:
"War Drums" is often regarded as a remix of "Pet", from the previous album, Thirteenth Step. However, on the aMOTION DVD commentary, Maynard James Keenan states that it is a second part of "Pet", a continuation. While the former is the subject of addiction, "War Drums" focuses on a political agenda.

I got to see APC open for NIN in NOLA in 2000. you can hate me now smiling smiley

Mer De Noms favorite track: Magdalena
Thirteenth Step favorite track: The Noose
eMOTIVE favorite track: Passive

I have Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step, I used to listen to them quite a bit but they kind of faded away for me. Never saw them live and don't really mind. I still love 3 Libras, an amazing song.

10/10/08 6:51 PM

One of my favourite bands, it's a shame I didn't get to see them before they went on hiatus. They're just amazing, there really is nothing else like them out there. Favourite tracks are Gravity, Passive, Vanishing and BreƱa. Even though I really love Billy's album, I really hope we haven't seen the last of them, I think they have a lot more to offer.

I recently got into this band. Mer De Noms is definitely their best, with eMotive close 2nd, but Thirteenth Step failed to impress me as much.

10/10/08 7:52 PM

I'm with you Anna but I think we are the minority winking smiley

Random request: Does ANYONE know where I can get an instrumental version of Mer De Noms? Or does somebody wanna make me fall in love with them by stripping the vocals out of all the tracks? <3

There is a huge difference if you understand the complexity of tool. Also Tool's tracks being 10 minutes fucking long and only comes out once every five years could give it away.

Sorry I have a love/hate relationship with Tool, I disagree with some of the ways they do things.

A Perfect Circle is cool thought, I enjoyed Mer de Norms a lot.

Would even be more awesome if Jeordie got his brain back and quit Manson and rejoined APC.

I discovered APC when Thirteenth Step was released and I was lucky enough to snag a ticket when APC performed at Roseland (NYC) in 2003. Just brilliant seeing the band in a small venue. Would be fantastic if APC reformed.

I have to agree with some that APC is better than Tool. As much as I love Maynard, Tool sometimes comes off pretentious.

APC is definitely one of the best bands to form and release music during this decade.
