It seems that there is isn't much love for Dave Gilmour here - am I the only one who prefers the Gilmour stuff to Waters?
The only songs I really like on the Wall are those co-written by Gilmour (Young Lust, Comfortably Numb). All the Floyd songs I seem to love most are by Gilmour (e.g., Learning to Fly, What Do You Want From Me) and I really dislike The Final Cut. This album represents for me what I dislike about Waters. Whenever Gilmour is involved the feel is smooth, and his voice and guitar are like butter...and that I what I always loved about Pink Floyd, the flowing quality of the music. Gilmour's solo stuff is also good, although I must say I wasn't a fan of About Face (1984), but the self titled 1978 album and On An Island are both great.
Don't get me wrong...there are some great Waters songs (e.g., Have a Cigar

, Hey You). I just wanted to share my views because they seem so sharply in contrast to everyone else's, which I found interesting.
