Yeah, that's right!, you know they deserve it...

I heard Robert Plant was touring with Alison Krauss...of all people.
It would be cool if Zep got back together even if it was just a few months.
I love D'yer Maker & The Immigrant Song. Stairway is good but a bit overplayed.

09/21/08 3:33 PM

I love the White Stripes Red Rain cuz it reminds me of Zeppelin.
You can hear a strongZeppelin influence in a lot of Jack's music.
I wanted the name Red Rain but it was taken by someone else.
I love that screaming-singing or whatever it's called that Plant used to do.

One of the best rock band ever.

These guys knew how to make great songs, even if they stole sometimes things from blues songs.

And yeah, Stairway to Heaven is overrated, nobody talks about The Rain Song for example, a great one. Immigrant Song is awesome in live with the guitar solo in the end.
I really love all their work until Physical Graffiti. Presence ( except the song Nobody's fault but mine ) and In Through the Out Door are shit to me.
Of course I love Coda but all the songs were previously recorded. I enjoy a lot the CD No Quarter recorded in 1994.

Always a pleasure to play Page's riffs on the guitar smiling smiley

That's funny that a guy with a QOTSA avatar created this subject and then raconteur you talk about The White Stripes since I think all these bands are linked by the way they compose and play music.

Zeppelin!!

Big fan of Jimmy Page here....thumbs up

I love "When the Levee Breaks" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"....my favourites

"Natas teews ym ot s'ereh..."

That's a good and bad news.

Good since it shows that they really want to tour, at least the musicians.
Bad since if we don't have Robert it's not Led Zepp !

Robert should do it, for the love of music ! damn !

Their music brings back so many memories! I played them almost constantly in high school. Kashmir is currently my ringtone on my cell smiling smiley

I think it would be slightly blasphemous to tour as LZ without Plant, although his voice hasn't aged well at all. I saw him and Page in '95 and I remember cringing at times...definitely can't carry those high notes anymore.

Grew up collecting all LEds vinyl records.

Althought Plants voice on Houses was terrible.

etc etc, I can find things to complain about but noone would care.....

Go on, argue.

Great band.. one of the best. they´ve never stoped trying new things. Love all of their albums.

So anyway...I found an article at google that compared Zep & WS.
I guess it's pretty well accepted that Jack was influenced by Zep.
Jimmy Page actually showed up at a WS gig. LOL
Jack was listening to Stairway & Black Dog before the other kids were drawing. smiling smiley

I know that Page and White are going to be in a documentery along with Edge (U2 guitarists). From what I have read about it, it seems pretty cool.

i agree. he sounded great on houses although i might be biased since it's my fave zep album. if there's one album where plant sounds a bit "off" its probably physical graffiti.

I'm looking forward to this documentary. Those are three guitarists I love, and even though I imagine a lot of people here hate U2, Edge has got his own sound and play. I love him.
Can't get enough of the Led Zeppelin DVD.

09/26/08 8:22 AM

IMO, greatest rock band of all time.

As Russianonice's link is dead :

Good news

Can't wait to see the tour dates and I hope they won't hit stadiums, regular rooms would be much better !

It's Led Fucking Zeppelin, dude ... Page won't get out of bed for a crowd of less than 20,000.

edit: p.s. And to think I paid $17.00 to see them in 1977. I expect GREAT inflation.
