Here are a few drawings I made before the Auburn Hills show, I was extremely psyched for the show and I was getting impatient so I drew to get my mind off the wait. Sorry if some of them are shit quality, they are currently up in my room ^_^hot smiley

You did a great job! I wish I could shade as well as you can.

My favorite of the three would have to be the last one. You got him down pretty damn well.

Thanks, dude you already put my shit on this thread, I wanted to have this one and I wanted to have my own thread, is that kool?

Hi, I did Not design the chart for this. I got it from a lady on a knitting website and Id be happy to send a link to it if you message wanting it.

I DID however pour weeks into knitting the front panel of the tote. Each stitch done, of course, one at a time with absolute love and devotion.

I consider knitting art! You take string and create masterpieces. Its how I channel my creativity most the time. Its also a plus that every where I go I have sharp pointy sticks in case of ..emergencies! >.>

I can only hope that one day the man himself will see it and at least get a smile out of it.

Damnit I fail at posting pictures.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3103/2769381866_6eb92b724e.jpg

I wish TR could see them!

Find out where one can sent Trent "fanmail" and mail him one of your portraits.

It may take awhile for him to get to it, but I think he'd appreciate it, and even eventually get back to you. Think about it... he gets TONS of letters... but how many drawings/portraits?

are you serious?? why can't you just leave him alone? do you really think he appreciates it when you send him portraits and even wants to contact you?? in "the art of darkness", an article from 1995, the author describes how every day packages with books, pictures etc arrived, because people thought tr would care...

fan-art is cool and fun and necessary, but don't get too euphoric (the "ooohh your soooo great!" "no, YOU are soo great" party).

@silent: of course it's technically ok, but he looks like he got beaten up (swollen lip)
@mayumi: first one has a cute naive style, but the person could just be anyone (maybe dave navarro)
@ChalkNurse: does he have a golf ball behind his lips? looks almost like a duck beak
@tonnel: your abstractions are really good
@kairi-66: why did you post the same content on page one and three?
the one Americunt posted has nothing to do with an abstraction of tr, but at least it's done very well.

portraits are not easy. most of us make the person we portrait prettier, with features that we like. the problem with a remarkable face is the risk of drawing one "eye-catcher" feature (a nose, par example) and neglecting the rest.

And that is the fabulous idea of art. Each artist can illustrate their own interpretation of how they see someone. Realism is a beautiful facet of the art-world, but we also have photographs and that is not what everyone sees beauty in, or wants in a portrait. I appreciate your opinions on the artwork shared here by the artists, that is what is so great because for anyone who may not love something, there is someone who does.

Geez, you guys are so incredibly good, it's nuts. Nice work everyone!

09/09/08 1:21 PM

Thanks guys for the tips and the guy uploaded my drawings on here once but I wanted my own thread so I made another thread with my stuff only with my name on it. Then he took it again, so ask the creator of this thread

eek, dave navarro you say?? well that's not what i was going for but yeah, i honestly wasn't totally pleased with how he turned out, but i'm still experimenting with portraits and have only been doing it for about two years now, i'm also self taught mind you. but thanks anyway for the critisism, the only way i can improve my art is if people point out the faults and i can learn from my mistakes. smiling smiley
