*clears throat & shuffles feet*

Sorry if this comes off a bit awkward. There's something unnerving about putting yourself out there for other people to dissect, bit it feels some what appropriate to do it here. I might as well have fun with it.

As a long time NIN fan, I think the highest complement I've ever been paid is when a friend told me he thought I sounded like NIN (the track he was referring to is called "On Your Knees"winking smiley. smiling smiley I disagree, but the point is, NIN is an almost unavoidable influence on me. That being said, so is (in no particular order) Skinny Puppy, Coil, Pink Floyd, VAST, The Beatles, ELP, King Crimson, Rush, Kraftwerk, Throbbing Gristle, VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, And One, Wolfsheim, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Switchblade Symphony, The Smiths, Fields of the Nephilim, Joy Division, David Bowie, Wumpscut, Snog, Fiendflug, Ministry, Front 242, Lords of Acid, Peaches, Soundgarden, Tool, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, The Tea Party, U2, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, The Who, The Cars, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Gary Numan, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, New Order, Conjure One, Portishead, Garbage, Bjork, Rob Dougan, Orbital, Underworld, The Crystal Method, Daft Punk, Shiro Sagisu, Angelo Badalamenti, Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk ... to name a few winking smiley

I'm disgusted with the current music scene. I know too many hacks that do it for groupies or money.
I do it for myself because I want to hear more of the stuff I like. Pretty simple, huh?
If you don't like it, that's okay. If you do, ever better! Now, if only I could only figure out how to plug my obsessive love of music, movies, anime, books, etc into actually making music, I might get somewhere. Unfortunately, I let myself be easily distracted and rarely work on anything sad smiley

My ex-roommate Dre has been coming over every day for the last two weeks to work on music. Yesterday we threw together the track Euphrates. This track isn't technically "Skinlayers" so we're calling it "Skeleton Crew", which is what Dre wants to do his collaborations under. The other three tracks I've made through out that last 5 years or so.

NOTE: Pretty much all of my tracks are demos. Will I ever call them do? Not sure. Do I ever have to?

I don't think On Your Knees sounds like a NIN song. But I think it sounds great. Seer in Song Revisited, is also a track that sounds great. It is probably my favorite one of the few you have up. I say keep doing what you are doing.
I can't wait to hear some more stuff from you.

I really like the snare work in "on you knees"

I really like the drum intro in "on your knees", its very distorted, but in a good way with some nice tight edits. The reverb on the synth, personally i think is a little bit too much as it makes the elements in the song sound too seperate, but thats my opinion. Overall, its some really good work, i can definitely hear the early SP influence with the dialog samples etc too.

Nice one!
