Passage

Contained within a dream
The surge being forced
upon the shell
Lean into the night
Bear the changing burden
Compelled

Crawl on your shame
Trample on the past
It's before you

The black sphere
The cave of time
The scar of solitude
The passage

03/19/09 6:36 PM

A Breath

Fall of silence
A moment's creation
A moment's death
The endless awakening

I cannot fear what is not created
I cannot miss what has not passed

I change
I relate
I breathe

Taken in -
I am alive

The universe remains
The wheel turns

Let out -
I am reborn

Love those lines.. enjoyed the read smiling smiley

Hey thanks. Reading your post I wonder what "taste the rainbow" would have added to that stanza. Hmmm...might not fit the mood though heehee.

03/20/09 10:29 AM

They are both great.

Fall of silence
A moment's creation
A moment's death
The endless awakening

I like the flow of the contradictions; silence, creation, death, awakening...nice.

Passage

Contained within a dream
The surge being forced
upon the shell
Lean into the night
Bear the changing burden
Compelled

I feel like a dream is about to burst forward and possibly come to fruition and regardless of the problems that might arise, you are compelled to see it through.

Crawl on your shame
Trample on the past
It's before you

Maybe the problems that will arise have something to do with your past, but you put them out there and deal with them.

The black sphere
The cave of time
The scar of solitude
The passage

I feel like your coming out of a dark and lonely time, and your ready because it's been too long.

I hope you don't mind me interpreting it. It's all just "ink blots", so we all get different feelings from reading them.grinning smiley

I hope you will continue to share.

jesus christ..you get me. i don't know ANYONE who's noted that, and that includes my therapist! Not kidding. Thank you so much. I'm inspired.

Heralded

Streaks of pain and terrifying hate break through
Red corsairs through the din of night
Impact, Explosion, Vapor
The expansion of electric light

If I stood at that point
If I took all of my being
Released it
Herald it
Would you notice?

Time clicks on

Those sparks fall as ash
That light fades to nothing
This moment becomes nostalgia

I walk away
There is always another day

Maybe it's beginners luck. Let me try another.

Fall of silence

After a period of time and/or some self discovery, a part of you had died and something else emerged, as you continue to discover and evolve (as new parts of you evolve).

I guess this could actually be a specific creative process as well. Maybe you had writer's block and know the block has "died" and you are constantly creating something new.

I cannot fear what is not created
I cannot miss what has not passed

You no longer fear the unknown and no longer regret what you did not do.

I change
I relate
I breathe

You are able to adapt to change and not get so anxious over it... relax

Taken in -
I am alive

The universe remains
The wheel turns

Let out -
I am reborn

Okay, I had a tough time with this. What can you take in and feel alive and let out and feel reborn.....Love?
Did you let love in and now you feel alive?
Perhaps you were scared to do so and that is why you say, "The universe remains
The wheel turns", because you took a chance (even though you were anxious about doing so) and the world didn't fall apart...lol.
Letting love in does make us feel alive, but it does not compare with giving/sharing your love to another. That does make you feel like a different person, a new person where you feel like anything is possible.

Then again, I guess this could go back to the creative process I spoke of earlier.

But, it is Spring, so I'm going with love.

03/20/09 12:30 PM

Ha I like your choice for Spring! I also like your take on it. Actually, I was doing a very basic interpretation of meditation and what it does for me. But to extend my thoughts on meditation to love is a beautiful concept. I'll keep that in my pocket if you don't mind smiling smiley

03/24/09 7:33 PM

Satisfied

The empty room
The column of air
A lack of substance
A touch of solitude

Carry me away
from your caring sense
Strip me of my controls
and send me careening to the void

Satisfied but forgotten
Dizzy in the sway of life
Stillness of the moment
Bracing for the impact
Open the gates

But the change never comes
The sweetness falls away
The city turns to rubble
A taste of copper
A numbing of flesh

You take the seat
on that dim star
I have forgotten you

09/24/09 4:24 PM

Everything In Its Place

It came a scattering of pieces
strewn among the shambles
lost among the weeds

A searing, a tearing
a presence of hurt
left behind retreating winds

It has no place to go
no other place to be

That dark place I used to put it
no longer opens for me

So here, the space of moments
I'll find a place for it

All will be back in its place
for you to return to
and I'll be there, among the pieces

09/24/09 4:28 PM

Arc Of Seasons

Gaining on truth, far away
like billowing smoke, on the pale horizon

Rising, spreading, guiding
that distant destruction

This part of the play
transition of acts
moments of feeling

In it all, the arc of seasons
always falling into
another embrace

Another infinite peace
to dim my vision
of us.

09/24/09 4:31 PM

Better To Be

Forlorn, descending
Beaten, destroyed

A flood of remorse
fog upon the cold river

Better to be one
Better to be remembered
Better to be silent
on the solitary raft

Floating away, wanderer
fader
dwindling

All in its course

Better to be.

09/24/09 4:38 PM

Music Of Souls

My frame extends
from one universe to the next

I tread upon lands
given and taken
I breathe the whispers
of nature time

A harmony of life
This wonderful music of souls

I recognize the chorus
the rising and falling
of feelings and thoughts
of moments in scale

Enveloping love
blanket of senses
Sing to me that familiar
that light of calm

What do you really know?
What is all you see?

Never permanent
a vibration of waves
play the invisible game

Music over the surface of time
fades to a distance without measure
Like some vague compass
swinging to and fro

Leading me on and through
this dance of relating with you

It's really lovely to see you around here again smiling smiley

Finally coming to terms with something that has been becoming evident? If so, it seems you have made your peace with it. Or have you? I get the feelings there are many ups and downs and ultimately, you are ambivalent.

09/24/09 7:54 PM

Good to see you and most others still here doing great work. Something change and yet stay the same. My pen is active since I'm dealing with the slow failure of my marriage. I guess I can't say for sure that I'm "happy" to be back, but I do appreciate the warm welcome. Thanks.

09/24/09 9:05 PM

I love your style. It gives me the same kind of feeling as a lot of stuff by the Swans [a band I love]. That feeling of almost being happy, but there's something lurking around underneath.

"Better to be one
Better to be remembered
Better to be silent
on the solitary raft"

That's beautiful. =]

Thank you. I'm flattered. When I think of Swans I think of "Where does a body end": has some lovely lyrics to a haunting melody. Good choice of band love.

A Scenic View

If I were to gaze
and take in
all of that before me

If I were to afford
a moment
to simply view

A golden vista, a receding sun
A frosted peak, touched by clouds
A wandering river, slicing through the green

All of those
become a heaven within me
the experience of now

These are but the simplest
The closest approach
The images I can give words

To tell what it is
Why it is
How it is
That I pause

I am swept in a sense of forever
I have left me behind
To become a part
Of experiencing and surrendering to

The Living Light of you.

Like these lines. A lot. They remind me of those seldom times you meet someone new and are swept of your feet by their inner beauty. Your style of writing feels familiar, like meeting a friend. Thank you.

this poem really struck me
i don't know why but i get the feeling that this is looking at some trauma
maybe only discovering it as well
pulling it from the recesses of the mind
working through it
then making it a benign history

A sort of poem in gratitude of yours;

Solitude a Reign of time.

When did serendipity Take time and friendship.

Rest in peace
Live alive a human days wing...

Language differentiation beset... To upscale
for greater peaceablity...

Friendship should not only return to oneself....

Solitude a Reign... Era... of unrelatedness that should end...

Whem..... self realization would not seem foreign...

Clouds aren't lonely...

I could make myself remember.

That was really nice thank you! Here's a fairly new one:

Chamber

A wilting flower of triumph
Sick air choked in sulfur
A barren rampart of silence

All I see is the vast tomb of chaos
A blackened char of landscape
Artifacts of victories so swiftly celebrated

This smudge of time marked by moments of horror
Locking the fates of men to this small chamber
A mechanical prelude to an unstoppable action

I blow away the dust from this device
Clear the housing of hell-making
Wipe the tear which divides the filth of my face

I go forward to reap
to regain
and wish to forget this day of hate.

A Little Help (?)

I coax you and coach you
"go long"
You separate and distance is born

I'm picking a moment
A time to transfer
I throw

You are closer than I imagined
It overshoots, it overtakes
Lands beyond your reach and finds ground

We are spent of power
We are broken by this miss
A little help?

All that passes by
Deaf to our plight
A little help?

I turn away retreating
The silence of our defeat

You call to me
I turn, see you follow me
A little help

A Grateful Plenty

Toward all awakening
The discarded pages of toil and restraint
Become a somber silence across the still waters

Listen to a happy hum of life
A parade of light before your vision
A glossy reminder of all remaining

All surrounding
All creating
All loving

It begs to be near to you
A warm piece within you
You can feel welcome

This selfless plenty
Your eyes open to the shower spectrum
Alight on the spark of nature's touch

Accepting all that is
Basking in a moment of yourself
Without a self

Be at peace
And grateful for being

Be Brave

It's just one step forward
Through and beyond
Be the vanguard

No hands to lead you
No leaning to push you
Be in front

The angelic chorus of hope
Sirens of victory approaching
Be bright

Shed the molt
Slip the chains of ignorance
Be free

This moment to grasp
This time to break free
Be brave

Stones Remember

The winds and the rains
The snow and the dust
The sun and the darkness
Pass over this place through ages

The generations of feet
The noises of intersecting voices
The coarse indifference of man
Scrape over the surface of your stones

Moss, mold
Small creatures, floral cycles
The plans of nature's whims
Caress the cold granite, the gentle carvings

This stone, this marker
The record of living, the datum of the dead
You named, born, died...remembered
You remain
And we all carry on.
