Androgyny is Teh Sex.
I think most people just aren't sure what to do with someone who isn't easily definable and therefore can't immediately be lumped into the category of either 'man' or 'woman', in their minds. Which would make sense, as so many assumptions about the person and how to react and relate to them are based off of this initial impression - social expectations differ very greatly between those perceived as men vs those as women, and if someone gets it wrong, people get offended.
And perhaps the whole bit about one's own sexuality that comes into question, along with it. "Ooh, that person's kind of attractive! What if he/she isn't the sex I think he/she is? Ohnoes! Does that mean I'm not really gay/straight??"
People seem to react badly to things that make them question themselves, or threaten the way they think the world works.
I like really masculine men, masculine women, some very feminine women (as long as they don't go for that whole stereotyped 'pretend stupidity' that seems to be common), some feminine men, and many androgynous people....I guess I'm just attracted to
people.
Anyway, Buck Angel -
And Loren Cameron.
A couple of other 'oddballs' out here to keep me company.

Heh - I briefly dated a 40-some year old guy when I was 21...I've always liked guys that were older than me. They generally seemed to be more mature than the ones my own age, not so prone to run around and act like a bunch of assholes.
