I loved that candy shop! And I have to confess something ~ I was clearing up my room the other day and found a couple of my Kinder Surprises I bought when I was up there. They were a little on the sunken and shriveled side *eek*

well, shame on you! it's a sin to waste Kinders like that! (btw, do you always keep sunken and shriveled things in your room? tongue sticking out smiley)

The show was fantastic. Conan was on fire all night(though Andy seemed a little out of his element), whether doing standup style comedy, skits, or singing/playing guitar on the music numbers. The comedy was very funny(including, among other things, videos of the return of Triumph and the Walker Texas Ranger lever), the music was very tight and exciting, and everyone on stage really seemed to be having a great time. Probably the best comedy show i've seen, though it wasn't strictly comedy; it was more like a variety show, but Conan and friends pulled it all off almost effortlessly.

I thought Reggie was very, very funny. In fact, i went home and bought his album off of Amazon that night. It doesn't quite capture the humor of his live act, though; some of the tracks are hit or miss, and you miss out on his very colorful, animated presence. I guess the physical CD comes with a DVD of video footage, including a Comedy Central special he did(?!), so that might make all the difference, but i bought the MP3 album(i just happened to have MP3 credit on Amazon). Actually, my friend Jordan, who saw Conan in LA at the beginning of the tour, told me that Reggie plays regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA, where Jordan dabbles in sketch comedy in his free time, and that he's never heard Reggie do the same song/skit twice. Pretty impressive, if not entirely conducive to the "comedy album" genre.

Can you blame Him? That thing had the worst hair ever!

And while the church there mourns the loss of their trademark, the flea market next door rejoices that their ginormous anatomically correct horse statue regains its #1 landmark status on I-75. I regret there are no detailed photos showing said statue in all its glory but assure you it is a most wondrous sight in person winking smiley

Haven't seen a live show since Yes in February, getting antsy, but tomorrow night it's Jeff Beck in a small theater in Kingston, NY. Last time I saw him was when he toured with Stevie Ray Vaughan in the early 90's. My wife Mary & my daughter Kate are going, we all went to see Yes, & of course NIN. grinning smiley

She was 6 & loved it, it was her first concert. grinning smiley I had already seen them & knew the live show was not as wild as other shows I have been to. Definitely not like some of the NIN shows I have read & heard about from years ago, so it was okay to bring her. It was the House of Blues in Atlantic City, so a small venue would be better. Unfortunately that night everyone decided to stand, so I had to hold her so she could see. She also fell asleep for the last 45 minutes, so it was like holding a sack of potatoes & my arms felt as though they'd fall off. LOL

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/OldMoparz/Family%20Photos/NINPic6A.jpg

The second time she saw them was in an amphitheater, the PNC Bank Center in NJ. My wife Mary also went & had planned to sit in the car & read. We had 2 tickets, that's all that you could get on the Spiral pre-sales. The cool part was that someone saw her standing at the gate & "GAVE" her a free ticket saying their friend couldn't make it & said give it to someone. She called me on the cell phone & said she was coming in. Amazingly her seat was just one row closer & just a few seats over from where we were. That one my daughter Kate stayed awake for. grinning smiley

One other thing was some woman asked Mary if she wanted back stage, after show party tickets. Said she couldn't stay, so we got those as well & went. Of course Trent wasn't there, but Aaron North was. Not a bad night except for the 3 hour ride home.
