Awesome! I mean your news is awesome. smiling smiley
I had an interesting night last night , some person harassing me, but I might be part of the blame. Long story.
Today starts the busy weekend. I'm hoping to leave work early and start celebrating straight away. tongue sticking out smiley
So I just wanted to stop by and say Joyeux Noel and have an old fashioned kick ass show tonight at the 219. *Christmas hugs*
Stay safe and enjoy meatball sub sandwiches for me. smiling smiley

12/24/11 2:17 PM

Have a wonderful Christmas, Keith! smiling smiley

12/26/11 1:10 AM

Thanks, loves smiling smiley

My Christmas was great this year. I didn't get everything on my wishey list, but that hardly mattered. What I got was great, we had amazing food, and my parents and I just had a really nice time together in general. I would have been on here earlier (much earlier) to tell you all about it, but my Internet connection was so bad today that I jsut shut the computer down for the whole day.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday this year smiling smiley

There's a chance that I'm going up to Delaware this week, followed immediately by a trip to Pennsylvania, but I'm trying to see if I can get out of it tongue sticking out smiley I know it's still technically the Holidays, but I still don't really want to go

OH! And guess what, everybody?

I GOT MY COPY OF THE DRAGON TATTOO SOUNDTRACK THE OTHER DAY! smiling bouncing smiley
It's quite amazing, if I do say so myself grinning smiley

Now if you'll kindly excuse me, it's past three in the morning here, so I'm off to bed.
Merry Christmas, my friends!

12/26/11 3:50 AM

Night night, Prowler. Don't forget to say your prayers. smiling smiley

12/28/11 12:21 PM

Sup Prowlman??

Glad you had a Merry Christmas man! .. and got Soundtrack! My fav is still the Immigrant Song .. sooo bad a$$.

12/28/11 7:50 PM

Yes, Immigrant Song is far and away my favorite song. But Is Your Love Strong Enough is just so beautiful that it almost made me cry when I heard it

Well, I'm in Pennsylvania right now. It's a long story, but it involves furniture and a car and that's why we're here. We're staying the night and then leaving for Delaware tomorrow morning and then we'll be coming home on Friday afternoon. Of course after that we're going up to Alexandria for the show, then spending the night at my sister's place, and then Amanda wants to get together on Sunday. So yeah, it's going to be a full one hot smiley

I'm sorry I haven't really been on for the past few days, but our Internet connection has gone from bad to worse recently. It may get better, or it may not-we have no idea at this point. All we know is that it sucks ass right now.

So how are all you sweet-ass bitches doing these days? smiling smiley

12/29/11 10:26 AM

I listened to Is Your Love Strong Enough the night before last. It's beautiful. In the beginning just Mariqueen's delicate voice without much backround music. Then it gets heavier. It is a very naked bare song with no autotune to cover flaws. But yeah I love it when real people sing with no filters. Their voice is the instrument. Lovely. smiling smiley

Anyway, PN and DL! At least you get to go traveling and visit family this week. I get my chance this weekend. tongue sticking out smiley I'm pretty busy too until Monday. And I actually have a blind date this Friday. >< I'm not nervous at all. And I dont know how to act. I guess I'll just see how it goes. So it will be at the Tipsy Goat pub. I'm hoping there will live music but IDK. Then Saturday I'm flying nice and early to snow country. I'm going to look for naughty snowmen and underwear trees while I'm there. Maybe I'll contribute an old pair of knickers to an unsuspecting pine. grinning smiley I'm doing a lot better this week. I have a lot to be thankful for and many things to look forward to. I'm happy. Skiing will also help my brain do something active and fun for once.

So Cheeks! Let us know about all your adventures and about 219 fun. If I don't talk to you before Sunday have a happy New Year's celebration. smiling bouncing smiley

12/29/11 1:03 PM

XANTHE HAS A DATE! smiling bouncing smiley I'm so excited for you! You'll have to let me know how it goes

Christ, I feel like a giddy girlfriend over here eye rolling smiley

So last night I was finally able to the the original Dragon Tattoo, and I'm going to be watching The Girl Who Played With Fire later today. Dragon Tattoo was fantastic, so now I have high hopes for part two. Although most of my friends who have seen both the original and new Dragon Tattoo movies say that the new one is better. So now I'm looking forward to seeing it even more.

So I'm in Delaware now, but thankfully I'll be coming home tomorrow afternoon smiling smiley And Amanda says that she might be able to come to the New Year's gig, but we'll have to see about that.

I have nothing else interesting to write, so I'll just end this post now...

Okay, now it's over.

12/30/11 2:01 PM

Woot!

Yeah I'll let ya know how it went. Ugh! I have to work all day and then get gorgeous for a date. Tomorrow I have to be at Lax at like 7. I hope I can wake up. I'm gonna be exhausted but I can sleep on Monday I guess. tongue sticking out smiley are Sharona and BloodType excited? I wonder if they've made nin love yet. Haha!

12/30/11 10:04 PM

I is home now. Well. I've been home for a few hours, but I've been busy cleaning and putting Christmas shit away since we walked in the door.
Sin says she and Colin are excited for the show, and I can't wait to finally meet them smiling smiley Xanthe, you can ask them about the NIN love yourself tongue sticking out smiley
OH! And I have some awesome news!

Amanda gets to come to the show tomorrow smiling bouncing smiley And not only that, she's also staying the night with us at my sister's place. I have no idea where we're going to sleep (Bree and Kenny are having a party of their own and they won't let anyone drive home if they're drunk), but we'll figure that out later.

And now, I need to go move some laundry around and tidy up my room a bit. I just wanted to jump in here and say Hi and tell everyone the good news smiling smiley

Have a good night, loves!

12/31/11 6:49 PM

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey drummer dude!

Just want to wish you a very Happy New Year. (i am on my friends computer)
Have a great night full of fun and debauchery.
Talk to ya next year! smiling bouncing smiley

*sprinkles around a bit of appreciation confetti*

01/02/12 10:35 AM

Aww, thanks, Tiana! *Super giant squishy smushy hugs*

How was everyones New Year? Mine was pretty awesome smiling smiley The show was awesome, the place was packed all night and we had a great time. Not only that, but BloodType and Sharona came out! They didn't get to stay the whole night, but they were there for the first set. Those two are definitely pretty awesome smiling smiley Then after the show was over we all went back to my sister's place and spent the night.

And yesterday I finally got to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night, and it was amazing. It wasn't even close to being as brutal as everyone made it out to be. The Swedish one was much more intense in certain places (at least the extended one is. I don't know how much was in the original release), and in some ways it was even better than the original. Except for the fact that the woman next to me kept hacking her goddamn lungs out for most of the movie hot smiley Other than that I loved every second of it.

01/03/12 2:13 PM

Whoa Tiana sighting!! eye popping smiley
She's rare in the wild like an albino alligator. grinning smiley but way cuter and not pale.

It's back to work today. I think I need chocolate to get me through.
Have fun tonight at your open mic.*hugs*
give us the quick and dirty review later. winking smiley

01/04/12 11:44 AM

You're right, she's way cuter than an albino alligator grinning smiley

Quick and dirty, huh? Okay, let's see...

It went eally well last night. Some of our regulars couldn't make it out, but some old friends showed up to rock the place. And one of our fans was there whom we haven't seen in a while. She's a very nice lady, but she's a little... Odd. She wraps her arms around you and doesn't let go, and doesn't actually stop dancing while she's doing it, even if you're sitting down and she's not. She did it to me, and she kept rubbing her ass on my leg the whole time sad smiley I'm going to have to wash those pants twice now eye rolling smiley

And I have some pretty awesome news that I don't believe I've shared with you all... The band is going to be performing a few shows down in South Carolina next month! There's a big festival going on that a few big name acts are going to be playing for, and there's going to be music all over the town. The two shows that I know of are going to be at some fairly small club type places, but Doc alluded to some "other stuff" that we might be doing. And now here's Part II of the equation...

I might be getting a new drum kit soon. I'm playing the "want vs. need" game with it, but it's in reverse:
Do I need it for certain shows? Yes
Do I actually really want this kit? Not necessarily.
It's a really small kit in terms of drum sizes, and I'm just not comfortable on drums that small. It's not the brand I would prefer, it's not the sizes that I want and I don't like the color, but it would be beneficial to have a kit like this for gigs where room is an issue. Plus, the plan for the trip is that all of us band boys load up in the same car and drive down together, and my drums just won't fit in Doc's van with his, Pat's and possibly Scotty's equipment and bodies. But the upside is that it's much less expensive than the kit I actually wanted to get. That, and the kit I wanted has been discontinued hot smiley But this is a very nice little kit and I think that it will come in very useful if I actually get it. We'll just have to see what happens

01/04/12 6:50 PM

Discontinued is just a synonym for "origionality and flair X2".

01/04/12 11:23 PM

OOOOOWE! South Carolina!!! smiling bouncing smiley
My friend Sarah is from there. I love the south so much. <3 I swear my soul was born in the south and longs to return and live there forever.
That festival sounds like a blast. You need to take pictures and document everything that happens.
Now this trip won't be the first festival and tour the Buckets have done is it?
You'll have to tell me more the next time we talk. Sounds very exciting. smiling smiley
And a new mini kit! Sound cute! smiling smiley

01/04/12 11:25 PM

Hey man,

New Van Halen next month, new single next Tuesday.

We've played a couple of festivals around here, and we played at the Magnolia Festival down in North Carolina a couple years ago. This will be our first trip to Charleston as a band (and my first time ever), so we're really looking forward to it.
And as for the kit, I'm going to do a little more research on it and see if I can get it in a color that better suits me. The one at the store is a Champagne Sparkle, and I hate the way it looks. It reminds me of vomit, actually. Kinda gross...

I can't wait to hear it! I was wondering when that would be coming out. But I'm still upset that Michael still isn't with them

How are all my amazing Prowlings and Prowlettes doing this week? Does anyone have any plans coming up?

01/05/12 10:19 PM

Charleston! Blues Fest or something like that? Dang, probably can't make that weekend. 2nd weekend in February, right? But ya never know .. I'll put it on the radar.

OH .. if you do downtown Charleston .. there are babes-a-plenty. Due to a couple of colleges in town including a Nursing School. It's pretty impressive with the girl:guy ratio. Jus sayin' ..

01/06/12 10:19 AM

I hope you can make it, man. I'd love to meet you sometime!

And damn, of course I'm going to a babetacular town after I find a girlfriend eye rolling smiley Oh well.
Oh, and I talked to Pat a little while ago about the drums. I told him about the kit I'm looking at, and he sounded thrilled with it, so I think I'm making a good choice with it. I just hope I can get it in a color that I actually like. And he and Doc are even going to get a custom drum head for the kick drum. I love mine with the retro shield logo with my initials in it, but they want something with the band's name on it. So I guess this is another good compromise... I'm getting a kit for special shows at stupidly small venues, and they're getting a drum head for it.
It may not sound like much, but custom drum heads are not cheap. This will probably be one of the more expensive purchases they make outside of big musical equipment (which they don't do unless they absolutely have to) and plane tickets to England. I hope it looks good...

I'm sorry to say, but I'm not actually doing so good today so far. It's nothing physical-I'm not sick or anything. I just had a dream last night that was so bad I'm actually depressed today. Maybe I should listen to some NIN (but not the song that makes me sad) today to help cheer me up. I should be fine by the end of the day... Or maybe in a few days... I don't know. It was really bad...

How are you all doing?

01/06/12 11:26 PM

I had one of those dreams two days ago where you still dream a little after you wake up. There were ghosts and the consciousness made it unbearably terrifying, so I curled in a ball for a while. It almost ruined New-Years.

01/08/12 4:43 AM

Hi Prowler!! I know I don't post here often, but I lurk a lot of the time. smiling smiley

Your new drumkit sounds good!!! I hope you can get exactly what you want and that it doesn't cost the earth.

Keep on rocking!!!! Or is that "bluesing" lol

01/08/12 11:52 PM

Hey, all! I'm sorry I wasn't on at all in the last two days, but my Internet wasn't working at all on Saturday and yesterday I was out most of the day. And oh, what a day it was. Allow me to elaborate...

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/IvanBathory/photobucket-2978-1326090041373.jpg

That would be my brand new drum kit that I got yesterday afternoon smiling smiley I got it from this store called Greenbriar, and the story (if you've never heard of them), is that they've been an online business for twelve years, but just opened up their first actual store a few weeks ago right here in town, and they're planning to open more around Virginia and maybe a few in California. It's a great place, so I'll be going back whenever I can.
The color, obviously, isn't what I walked in looking for. It's a classic blue marine pearl wrap, better illustrated here:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/IvanBathory/photobucket-2953-1326089997831.jpg

I was planning on getting it in a black sparkle, but they didn't have it in the store, but the one above was there. My parents loved it (especially my Pops), and after thinking about it for a while, I decided that I liked it, too. What makes it even cooler is that only forty of those kits exist in that color, and they all belong to Greenbrier. They've done a lot of business with Gretsch over the years, so the company decided to make a limited run of that color just for them, and I got the only one that was in the store. Another awesome selling point was the fact that they knocked $50 off the price tag since it was the display model.
I got to play on them before deciding to get it, and I was shocked by how good they sounded. The kick drum is surprisingly punchy, and the toms sound amazing, so I feel like a jackass now for all the bitching I've done over the years hot smiley
I also found out that I ended up getting something out of this set that I wanted from the beginning, which was maple shells. I thought they were made out of mahogany, which is a very soft wood that doesn't make for a very resonant drum. But man, these bitches sound great. I still have to play around with different heads on them to find what sounds best, but other than that I'm already happy with it, and I'm sure the boys will love it, too. But if Doc finds anything wrong with it, I swear I'm going to shove his bass up his ass backwards grinning smiley
Then after that, we went to Guitar Center so I could get a new carrying case for my snare which I've needed for a long time, and then we went to the movies. So all in all I'd say it was a pretty awesome day smiling smiley

Sow what about you all? How were your weekends?

01/09/12 1:41 PM

Hi there! Sorry I have been anti-social lately. Busy and stuff. Just wanted to say "Hi." (see how I typed that again to reiterate my point? grinning smiley )

I might have to see if I can do that... Uploading videos on my computer has always been a problem, so I'll have to see if it's any easier to do it with my phone.
And I'm really hoping that the boys like it, too. I've decided that I'm taking it out to the Open Mic this week to give it a good and proper test run in a live setting.
I'm taking a sheet with me to cover the kit until the guys get there so I can give it a proper unveiling for them grinning smiley I think Pat's going to drop a brick in his pants when he sees it. They don't even know that I got anything yet. Doc was expecting me to buy just any old 18" kick I could find regardless of company or color and just use it with whatever smaller toms I already had-he had no idea that I was getting a whole kit unless Pat told him already.
I think it will work nicely for the trip as long as I don't take too many cymbals with me tongue sticking out smiley

Prowler, the new drumkit looks really pretty!!!! (I have absolutely no technical knowledge of drums or drumkits lol) I'm glad you like it, and that it suits you, and that you're happy with it, and that it sounds great.... grinning smiley And it's one of only 40 kits in that colour. Well done you!!!

01/11/12 1:37 PM

Hey! smiling smiley
Did you show off the Gretsch kit for the guys? Did it pass the test at open mic?
Did you hang out with your girlfriend? smiling smiley

A lot of questions I know. ><

HAY THARE!
Yep, I showed it off tongue sticking out smiley Once I set it up, I pulled a sheet over it to hide it, and when the guys got there I had this whole "dramaticly pull the sheet off for the big reveal" moment. Pat immediately loved it, but Doc was too preoccupied with getting all their stuff inside and setting up, so he was kind of a nudge at first eye rolling smiley But after a few songs he walked up to me while we were still on stage and told me how much he loves it, and was still telling me how great he thinks it is even after we were done for the night! So yeah, I think I finally did something right grinning smiley My boys are beyond thrilled with my purchase. Now I just need some cases for it...
And sadly, no, I didn't get to see Amanda last night. Tuesday nights aren't really good for her to go out, but I'll be seeing her tomorrow smiling smiley

Yeah, we've done the two-shows-in-one-day thing before a few times, but thankfully the first one is only an hour, so we have from four thirty to six/six thirty to get there and set up. And from what I understand, Brickhouse has its own PA system, so that's one less thing for us to worry about which would dramatically lessen out setup time.
I really hope you can make it to at least on of the shows!
