Town with my friend was wonderful today I was able to get some Birthday presents for Ma and Pat today before we met up, so I was glad about that. I also invited a bunch of random people to the show on Saturday while I was walking around. I invited a barista at the coffee shop, some customers there, and the girl who stands outside the tea shop handing out chicken salad samples every day. Some of them probably thought I was trying to ask them on dates Then my friend and I met for lunch, spent an hour and a half there, then I had to leave, so I walked her to her car. And holy smokes, she looked beautiful. No, we weren't on a date, but my God she looked good today Hopefully she'll be coming to the show this weekend.

And I'm going to get a haircut next week. I can't stand having long hair in this humidity any longer.

Prowler, I know what you mean when you say you can't stand having long hair in summer. We need photos of the "new you" of course.

Yes, my friend and I had a lovely time. She was recently dumped by her douche boyfriend, so I wanted to treat her to lunch. She's told me about some of her history with guys, and most of it wasn't good, so I wanted to show her that she could go out with a guy, even if it's not with a boyfriend, and be treated like a real lady. She actually told me that I was literally the first guy other than her dad who's ever paid for her meal. That actually made me upset. I mean, c'mon, what kind of guy never pays for his girlfriends meal? That's just unchivalrous and kind of dickish!
What did I get for Ma? Well, there's an oil and vinegar store in town, so I stopped in there and got her a bottle of very nice Balsamic vinegar. It doesn't sound like much, but I think she'll like it
And I got Pat some guitar picks (the guy loses more than he actually owns... I don't know how he does it), and I found the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live 1975-1985 vinyl set for a really good price, so I got him that. I think he's gonna love it
I'd be happy to help you pick something for Bree and Kenny from the registry, but I'd actually have to see the registry first. Yes, I have no idea what's on it
And yes, we got a show tomorrow. It's at a place we swore we'd never play at again, but we just can't be picky about gigs at this point. We've also all been inviting people like crazy, so hopefully we'll have a decent crowd there. But aside from the prospect of a bad/empty show, the forecast for tomorrow trumps everything in terms of "Jesus Christ, I don't wanna do it". It's going to be a hundred and eight with near 100% humidity... Yeah, I'm pretty glad that we're not playing outside. But my ass is still going to melt right off tomorrow, anyway

I'm very glad to hear that you didn't have and personal or property damage from the storm. And I actually got off easy with the power. Sure, some people didn't lose it at all, but there are some who only got it back yesterday night. So when you think about that, seventy-two hours isn't really all that bad. Some of those poor people don't even have generators, so they probably had to go to hotels or to stay with family/friends for the week.
And I shall do my best not to melt down south. The heat wave is supposed to break up here next week, but I have no idea what it's going to be like down there. I hope the weather decides to take it easy on us... I can't deal with any more days where it's over a hundred degrees. I just can't do it
Oh yeah, and I'll be express shipping my hair straight to you after it comes off

It's damaged and sometimes even ruined friendships of mine in the past because they'll misread my actions and think the wrong thing. Some girls just don't realize that just because I buy her lunch, call her "hun" or "sweetie" and tell her that she's attractive, it doesn't always mean I'm trying to weedle my way into a relationship. Things like that are just very natural to me, but not everyone understands that.
So if I ever say something along those lines that makes you uncomfortable or that you think is disrespectful to you and your boyfriend, please just let me know Same goes for all the ladies here, too. I care too much about my friendships with you all to let something stupid like that get in the way.

And I hope the show goes well tonight. It's a weird place when it comes to crowds there. Sometimes we have a packed house, other times we'll be playing for my parents and the wait staff. You just never know what's going to happen... Especially when it's a hundred and ten outside and a hundred and five in the shade

So the show last night wasn't great. Not only was the band not at 100%, but there wasn't a good crowd for most of the night. We all invited collectively over 400 people, and we didn't have more than 20 or thirty when it was most full,m but then the dinner crowd left and the numbers dropped even more. But Mike and his new girlfriend were able to come for a little bit, so that made me very happy He wasn't able to stay, but I was glad he was there anyway.
Then A-Dog got completely shitfaced again and was being a total pain in the ass when I was trying to pack up.

But on the upside, Pat absolutely LOVED his presents. He completely lost his mind over the records I got him.

Also, it's far too hot again today, but the temperature is supposed to break this upcoming week, so I'm happy for that.

But enough of my bullshit, how is everyone else's weekend going? Is everyone doing good?

So the show was meh? Better luck next time. Glad to hear Pat enjoyed his gifts. A-Dog being an a-hole isn't surprising. I remember him playing your drums once post show like an idiot. I felt like telling to fuck off your drums. But I was too much of a lady to stir shit at closing time. I just thought he was some drunk asshole, which he is.

I was reading your above posts and thinking about our conversation the other night. Maybe if you're having trouble with giving the wrong message to girls in casual friendship you might want to consider changing your actions. If they are put out by words and compliments maybe just don't call them sweetie and Hun. Don't touch them or hug them without permission. We all know you love all women but just be cool and casual with people. If girls see you as just a friend then they mat just want to talk and not flirt. Easier said than done right? I think flirting is mostly unconscious, we don't even know we are doing it. Just learn to read people. If they are not into it then back it off and stay neutral. Most women are bombarded with men all day every day. It's hard to explain what it is like to be defensive with your guard up protecting yourself. So these girls, all they know is men wanting sex. But most women want assholes. Which I don't understand and never will. but if you can master the asshole boyfriend, women will be lined up down your block. Not to be totally cynical but you know how it is.

I'm sorry things aren't going so well right now. I can tell you need a boost and some loves. Dont get down on yourself and despair. Things will turn up and you'll find a new girlfriend soon. you always have myself and Tiana as your besties. We have your back no matter what. We love the hell out of you Cheeky Monkey.
