Tiny faux turkey. I am glad you had something anyway. smiling smiley

It actually turned out to be put together at the very last minute, with separate turkey breasts and microwaved veggies.

Hey Patrick. What's up?

Not much. Nothing really has happened since I last updated this thing.

EDIT: Yeah, something did happen. I finally gave my computer up to be fixed. I am temporarily using my mother's computer.

That sucks. My computer is broken down too. I'm on a library computer right now.

The good and the bad.

The bad:

Nearly TWO MONTHS after I leave the states, Negura Bunget FINALLY announces a US tour. And it is, of course, during the year I am set to distance myself from the states. angry smiley

The good:

I am FINALLY getting my computer back tomorrow. smiling bouncing smiley

12/10/11 4:32 AM

Patrick, ain't it always the way??? Something you really want to see, and you can't be there!!!! But it is good that you're finally getting your computer back.

Thanks for posting the link for Negura Bunget. I've never heard of them or heard them before, had a little listen, really really liked what I heard. Where are they from? And, this gives me one more thing to appreciate about Mr. patrick_nicholas. smiling smiley

12/10/11 12:57 PM

The computer thing has been rescheduled for Monday. The guy wasn't there.

As for Negura Bunget, they are a progressive black/folk/dark-ambient metal band from Romania. Pretty much all their songs are in their native language. The correct spelling has a little mark over the "a" that I can't use because the server won't recognize it and will make it appear to be a question mark. They appear to be the only Romanian band I know of with more than five (mostly hipster) fans outside their country.

12/12/11 4:12 AM

^^Thanks so much for the information on Negura Bunget. I have a Romanian neighbour, maybe she's heard of them, must ask her if I remember to.

I hope you get your computer back soon.

Hi. *waves*
Get your computer back? Had any chance to explore the city? Is it foggy there? Or do you have snow now? *curious*

Not yet; possibly this week, though. I can't really be sure anymore, because the last couple of times I was, I didn't.

Yes, but only small portions. I can't really get around as much as I did in New York.

Still no snow. At least not here. Snow should probably be seen further to the center, but I can't go very far from the center anyway. At least not yet.

EDIT: The Opeth forum has been down for nearly two weeks (I think), and I have no idea why. It mysteriously vanished and I can't find any explanations. I created an ETS account less than a week ago, but got bored with it quickly. There's no party room, no game threads at all, not even a Pictures Of Yourself thread. So this is now officially my only forum, unless opethforum.com miraculously goes back up.

Perhaps Opeth is changing things up. Tool did the same thing at one time when they switched from an open forum to a membership only one.
I hope you get a little more freedom and cash flow soon to be able to get around easier soon.

Merry Christmas, Patrick! smiling smiley

That would make sense, if it were an official forum. OF.C was completely fan-operated and was created in response to the official one (now archived on Ultimate Metal) getting shut down.

Patrick, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! smiling smiley

Good to see another Slayer fan on the boards. You obviously weren't around for this guy (neither was I, but I have read many of his posts) but the original resident metalhead, known here as Shedding_Skin, was a troll from AllMetalForums.com that trolled too hard and got himself banned (though he's quite normal compared to some other AMF users). You should also stop by the Metalheads Unite thread. Don't let my first list get you, I have gotten bored with some of those bands. I was still in a transitioning phase into full-time metalhead from alternative rock kid that just got out of high school.

01/26/12 4:55 PM

Ahhh, the black ship S.S. Funnily enough I've seen that in port recently..

01/28/12 4:25 AM

I appreciate Patrick very much, because he looks out for me. Thank you, sir!!! smiling smiley

Just coming to appreciate me some Patrick.

02/11/12 2:03 PM

Okay, here's what's been going on...

Absolutely nothing. I have not been able to do much lately. I haven't even seen the Dragon Tattoo movie yet. Been a month-and-a-half since it opened, so it's probably not showing anymore. I barely have enough money to buy one CD with some left over for fast food, and I haven't been able to go out much.

02/12/12 4:23 AM

I know what it's like to have little or no money. I stay home most of the time, doesn't bother me that much, but I do miss out on a few shows I would like to go to.

Here's something I thought might be interesting to you, Patrick. To me, there is quite a resemblance between these two gentlemen. smiling smiley

Oh yes! I wonder if Opeth bringing the growls back on their last couple of shows has brought back the fans they lost with Heritage. Don't get me wrong: I have loved the shit out of the album from the start, and the reviews were okay; but the e-lit-is-t extreme metal people quickly rejected the shit out of it for its 70s progressive rock and jazz-fusion influences as well as the absence of growls on it. And it caused a bunch of trolls to hijack their Last.FM page, which remains hijacked to this very day.

02/14/12 4:41 AM

I don't think we have Heritage. I think I shall have to add that to my list of albums to buy. It sounds like my kind of music, jazz/prog rock influences.

I'm not overly fond of the metal growl. As a matter of fact, I find it a bit annoying. I like to be able to hear the lyrics.

Have you heard of a band called Rebellion? I think they're Swedish and my daughter bought their "Miklagaard" album last year sometime. It's really nice stuff.

BTW I think you and that nice man from Opeth are alike enough to almost be brothers. smiling smiley

02/15/12 6:50 PM

Ahh, din't worry about the movie. It will be on DVD soon enough. So, how long will you be in England? Dude, when spring gets here you have got to find a way to get out and wander around. Even if you do get lost a few times. Just get out and see stuff. It doesn't cost to look. You can't always live your life for others, Patrick. You have to live at least a little for yourself.

Be well, metalhead. smiling smiley

02/15/12 6:52 PM

I still appreciate you, and your tweets smiling smiley
