You're very welcome, Patrick. Don't worry that the courses your mum offers on her website might seem a bit expensive to some people. Like you say, you have to live. Some people just do not realise the amount of work that goes into offering these courses and setting them up and so on.

05/16/12 6:59 AM

Holy shit! Only 8 days! This is the shortest time this thread went from one page to the next in well over a year!

EDIT: I am still waiting to be told when and how to advertize the website.

Today is the day I almost got to go out and about for the first time in several weeks. Was set to take pictures and buy a CD. Mother was supposed to kill off the bugs with an insecticide that would leave us unable to be inside for four to six hours without getting poisoned. Surprise surprise, it wasn't done. Instead mother went off to teach WAY off in the middle of nowhere without mention of what was said yesterday to go down today. Now I'm once again stuck inside with just the internet. Though, at least it's better than stuck inside without being able to use internet like I occasionally was in New York.

Life without internet... too awful to even think about it.

EDIT: Cleared up more pointless ranting.

One year ago today, I left New York City to spend nearly five solid months in Hell before arriving in London. I have already described it numerous times in and out of my thread. Pretty much the only advantage I had was it being the only time I had a gym membership. Small town life is absolute torment for me. I strongly prefer major cities like London or NYC. It seems unlikely that I will get to travel across Europe anytime soon. I want to believe things will eventually work out the way I want them to and I will eventually somehow find my way back into New York, where I feel like I belong, but it seems extremely unlikely at the moment.

In case you didn't see my post in the What Happened Today thread, the other day my upstairs neighbors' radiator had a leak and a water pipe broke causing water to come out of the light fixture in the front room, making all the lights go out. We had to get the Fire Brigade to fix the problem because it would have caused a fire that would have killed us. Now we have no lights, though the electrical outlets still work. We also have no shower. Also, the converter that connects the American extension cord I need to plug my laptop to the British extension cord has almost died. I need to constantly grab the plug to keep the battery from dying, which is a fucking pain in the ass. Basically, things are pretty much falling apart in here.

sad smiley Sorry to hear it. Wish I had some great advice or pithy words of wisdom for you, Patrick. I don't. I can only hope that things do get better for both you and your mother.

*hugs*

What's happening??? How's your mum's online business going?

05/28/12 6:41 AM

It still needs some work before we can really get it out there. Mother is trying to get us a new flat because this one is falling apart.

I hope you can get a new home soon and that the website is fully functional soon. Good luck. smiling smiley

Okay, story time!

For those who haven't seen my twitter, I went to today's main Diamond Jubilee event[celebrating the 60 years of Elizabeth II being Queen], the boat pageant on the Thames, in which the queen rides one of the front boats. I have pictures, but I will get them on the computer later; I just got back about half an hour ago.

I almost got pissed when my mother made me wear my raincoat over my Opeth shirt, but she said I could leave it open. Got off at the London Bridge station, where I noticed that all of the entrances to the Thames were fenced off with cops everywhere, so I followed a crowd of people around a church (where bells were clashing chaotically) down a long and twisting path to the nearest available entrance to see the boats. So I eventually made it to a small park on the south bank on the Thames, and it was fucking crowded. I found a place to stand and waited for about two hours for the boats to come with a screen not too far behind me partially obscured by trees. Finally the boats started to come, and I had an impossible time to get pictures and had to jump up and down to see the fucking boats. Then I noticed there was a closer spot, so I got there. Though I still had to jump up and down a bit and stretch my arms out to get even half-decent pics.

Eventually I got bored and wanted to get something to eat. But it was £5.75 for a fucking cheeseburger. Most ridiculous price I have seen in a while. I also noticed that there were long lines for the portable toilets and long lines for Starbucks as well. So I just left and started walking towards Waterloo in the fucking rain, because the buses seem to be down in the area, but after struggling through crowds that were hardly moving, I noticed the damn station was closed and had to continue walking in the rain to Westminster. Fortunately the cameras still work (I use two). So I decided to take the Jubilee Line (tube/metro/subway) to the mall to pee and get something at the food court, but it was still raining like fuck, so I transferred for the Central Line instead. I finally make it home, and surprise surprise, the rain has pretty much died down.

So, it was overall a half-decent time. I will post pictures later, sometime after I get them on the computer.

Good to hear you had a half-decent time grinning smiley (except all the rain and stuff)

Patrick, we saw the boats on the news. If I had known you were going to be there, I might have watched a little more carefully. smiling smiley Pity about the rain. It's quite an historic occasion. Her Majesty has been on the throne for 60 years (very bad case of constipation if you ask me... but that's a very bad joke and I won't say it). Seriously though, she's a great lady and I have a lot of respect for her. I look forward to seeing your photos, should be good. smiling smiley

BTW My middle name is Elizabeth, after Her Majesty. Her coronation was the year before I was born.

06/04/12 8:03 AM

Glad to hear that you were out and not in home stuck with the computer... Pics, please? smiling smiley

06/04/12 8:05 AM

Got them all on photobucket just moments ago, I need to resize them before I post them.
