What's your favorite fan remixes?

I haven't been really listening to most of them lately but I really like the old "We're in this Together/Closer/Line Begins to Blur" mash-up. I'll have to visit the site again sometime cause I forgot the title of most of them, but yeah: Discuss fan remixes here.

i know this thread's mostly for discussing your favorite remixes, but what do you guys use to remix songs?

In My Twilight by Soundtweakers is amazing, The Hand That Feeds (Stripped) and the Non-Entity (Version) ones are great too.

I use nothing but N-Track for recording and mixing my own songs and the remixes and I´m fine with it. Easy to use and not too expensive.

Hi guys,

I use Cubase 4 for all audio and midi work. I also use some of the excellent Native Instruments synths and samplers, plus my Roland V-Drums for creating the drum parts. It's a real thrill to remix nin material. Maximum respect to Trent for this amazing opportunity.

Some of the best ones for me are probably:

Head Down (Crushed) - upbeat club/industrial and euphoric.
Head Down (Critical and Losing) - nice chopping and vocals.
Beside You In Time (5ilent Narcotic) - atmospheric and peaceful, good beat.
Corona Radiata (Bone Breaker Mix) - choppy and loud, nice production.
God Given (ROCKBOX) - gives your speakers a run for their money!
In This Twilight (Pulse Wave) - upbeat techno, works well with TR's voice.
Lights In The Sky (Waving Goodbye) - could make a grown man weep!
Meet Your Master (JP Stripped) - beautiful, a totally different take on the song.
The Big Come Down (Emhead) - Could easilly have been a NIN release. Raw!
The Day The World Went Away (Distant Mix) - builds up, makes you shivver!
The Good Soldier (Believes In Peace) - calm, serene, nice organs and percussion.
The Great Destroyer (Dark Star) - if it became a EuroSuperPopMaxxxRemix-esque song.

Need to get my ass in gear and do something myself soon but I don't know if I can compete. Some real good talent on remix.nin.com!

i used to have a massive folder full of fan mixes and some of them were amazing.... i don'ts knows where the folder is now so i can't check out what me fav's were sad smiley i'll look into it, some very talented people here...

dirty scarabs - survivalism is one of my favorites but I am far to have listened all the stuff on nin.remix. I think this version is very hypnotic

I've had problems with the remix site too and have been unseccessful in trying to fix them or report it, so I kind of gave up trying. I still go there to listen once in a while but must admit to having lost some enthusiasm for it since it became frustrating to use.

when i listened to lights in the sky off the slip...i loved the intimacy of the lyrics but i didn't like the dissonance of the piano. i soon started searching for the perfect remix that complemented his vocals....and i found it with Lights in the Sky (waving goodbye)remix by christ_himself. I thought it would be a wonderful idea to have a thread where people could share their fav remixes. Finding ones you like better than the original would be the ultimate goal. Try to explain what makes the remix so special and please let me know..because i'm sorry...most remixes are horrible and i don't like to spend hours a day sifting through the garbage...
oh, and Me Im Not (Tweaker Ray Remix) listen to the chorus...

Since remix.nin was create it has become a part of my everyday lifestyle... the quality and quantity of work there is absolutely amazing. It is, by far my most loved aspect of the most recent additions to the NIN empire. In regards to my favorite remix, well, thats hard. There are so many that i find myself listening to more fan remixes than actual original NIN these days.

The short list would be;
- Absolute Zero
- Nj369
- jeff.waytowich
- christ_himself
- TweakerRay
- soundtweakers
- Banary audio
- d.o.w
- NLBshankR177
- ((o))

There are so many more who deserve recognition... more than an simple rating and/or a comment anyway.

I hope, at some point in time these artists are rewarded for their work and the countless hours they/we put in to these. Perhaps a remix.nin album Trent?... just an idea.

All time favourite fan remix, Absolute Zero's "7 Ghosts IV Steady Decline".

Oh, and before I go... dont forget to check out NINHURT's remixes, I hear there not too bad at all winking smiley

So I decide that I want to listen to these remixes. I go to the site and it tells me i need to register with nin.com. ok. so I try and the fields you put your info in are either not working right or completely nonexistent. So i try it at remix.nin.com. Same story. So i download this retarded firefox. Then I go back to the site and its telling me to download all these plug ins i already have. I finally get it all sorted out and get logged in 2 hours later. So i see all these songs and i try to listen to some of them. A few worked. most of them stay on pause no matter how many times i hit the play button. I'm very disappointed. so im guessing that if my anger goes away and i decide i want to listen to this crap again i will have to download it. Fishing for good remixes? what a crock. All the fancy moving letters doesnt make up for not being able to listen to the MUSIC! I don't have any problems listening to music on the web ANYWHERE ELSE! Its pretty simple- click the play button and it plays. Makes sense. This just says its playing while the time sits on 00:00. Go die.

I'm glad to have stumbled upon this forum, because I have been totally absorbing the incredible fan-remixes of NIN for the last few years, and especially with remix.nin.com.

While I fully intend to come back here and specifically give credit where credit is due to all of my favorite remixers, I have to throw out a general thank you to those of you creating these fantastic tracks! As a fan that just can't get enough NIN, it's exciting to have the possibility of 'new' NIN material exponentially multiplied by all of you adding your inspiration to the world daily.

At some point I am going to add my own remixes to the pile, and I look forward to sharing in this community.

What a great time to be a music fan. smiling smiley

I'll have to agree with ninhurt. By far the greatest gift TR has given out is the creation of the remix site. I'm probably not alone on this one, but many of us chose our career path due to the love of NIN, the sophistication of TR's mixes and his production skills. I for one dreamed about having NIN's original multitracks for years, and when it actually became available I was thrilled.
