Please post any bugs you encounter with the FORUMS here. Please help us by including your operating system and browser version. This is for bug reports only - keep discussion to a minimum, and if you are in need of help, go to the tech support forum. Thanks!

KNOWN BUGS:

- There are numerous issues with posts disappearing. Our devs are working on it. - FIXED

- The "last post" links in the forum view rarely work properly, if ever. - FIXED

- Sometimes the number of replies listed for a thread doesn't match up with the actual number of replies in the thread. - FIXED

- There are some font colors here and there which are difficult to read:
* Links within posts are very hard to distinguish from regular text.
* Search results come up with a white text on a light gray background that's impossible to read.
* The "pages" links in the forum view are black on black, they should be white.
* The blue color used for "rules," "search," "account," and some other links over the gray background need to be a bit brighter to stand out a bit more.

- The number of replies listed for a new topic defaults to 1 instead of 0.

- The forum is slow and crashes a lot when browsing on the iPhone.

This has probably been pointed out and if it has I apologize, but on top where it shows what forum you're in, when you click it, it brings you back to the main forum, and not the sub-forum. Like Ill click the "beta forum bugs and problems" and it brings me to the main forum page. Using IE7, think this is XP.

eww... not a bug
but nin logo on the top left leads to nin.com, not to forum.nin.com? :/

clicked 3 times in a row while trying to go 'home'... or is it only me? smiling smiley

I used the forgotton password function and it logged me in, it said "
welcome !" with check messages etc underneath it, even though I was not logged in as a member at all, as I was finding my password!

Are "disappearing messages" (there's a couple of links on the front page that return a message not found, and if you go into the thread they're not there) just simply spam posts that have been deleted? You might want to have it redirect to the thread in that situation, or something.

edit: do you HAVE to have an avatar for your custom title to appear?

Sometimes post don't show up.

08/15/08 4:58 PM

I've noticed that a topic will say it has a few replies, but it doesn't show as many as it says it has (like this one, I only see 3 posts). Using Firefox 3.0.1 on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3.

08/15/08 5:04 PM

When I'm on the main forum page want to go directly into a thread it tells me "Sorry, the message you have requested could not be found."

I'm using Safari 3.1.2.

Vanishing posts, I posted in a topic, it showed that I had posted in the main forum, but not in the topic, until I posted again, when both posts turned up.

Slightly more specific than that but along the same lines, I'm having a hard time seeing the Photoblog thread. When in forum view, I can see that it's there, and that people have posted in it, but clicking on the link from the main forum gives me an error, and then when I go into the thread by first clicking on the forum, then the thread, all I can see is Rob's post, and no one else's.

I'm using Mac OS 10.5, with the latest version of Safari.

Edit: Okay, now it's working.

I keep getting logged out. I'll click on a link to a thread, read it for a couple minutes, then when I go back to the main forum, I'm logged out. I'm using Opera 9.51 on XP Professional Service Pack 2

This message keeps appearing when I try to access a thread from the main forum screen: Sorry, the message you have requested could not be found.

I have to click on the sub-forum and then the thread I wanted to view.

Not a bug, but a problem - upcoming tour dates has a concert in Massachusetts and Maine on the same day.... Amazing...

08/15/08 6:55 PM

The with teeth link under albums brings up /with teeth/ instead of /with_teeth/

08/15/08 7:44 PM

Okay, I'm still having issues seeing posts. In the thread for the Columbia, MO tour date, I can see what I posted, but not what has been posted after me. It's like the thread has to be posted in again for me to see newer posts, and even then, I might not see everything.

08/15/08 6:57 PM

i also am having trouble seeing replies to threads, other than what i've posted.

08/15/08 7:05 PM

When doing a search, white text comes up on a light grey background, and the text is very difficult to read.

08/15/08 7:29 PM

Also, when a thread has been posted it comes up saying "1" in the replies section, counting the thread creator's post itself as the first reply. It should be "0".

I believe a wide-skin for the forum would be more appropriate, or at least centered.
I use 1280x1024 as screen resolution.

08/15/08 8:16 PM

It appears that posts keep disappearing and reappearing, in all sections.

08/15/08 8:20 PM

Yeah, something that scaled to your resolution would be great - I'm using 1280x768 and the site has a horizontal scrollbar, which is just annoying.

08/15/08 8:42 PM

Minor bug, but I can view the NSFW forum without logging in.

Windows XP 32 Bit
Firefox 3

08/15/08 9:14 PM

yeah - my first post disappeared, too sad smiley

I'll try not to take it personally

08/15/08 9:18 PM

My username is not displayed at the top, but rather the login fields. I'm obviously still logged in, as I am posting.
Using Firefox, whatever version it's upto.

08/15/08 9:30 PM

Whenever you click a recent posts link in someone's profile, it takes you back to the main page instead of the the post.

08/15/08 9:34 PM

it seems that throughout the day as i visit different threads, posts will appear, and then later disappear.

08/15/08 10:38 PM

The "remix" module in profiles remains green, while the rest of your customized profile (speaking to you, Rob) changes to whatever you specify, i.e. red. Not sure if that's intentional or not so that the module stands out...

Also, some links don't open in new windows and overrides the current one so you are taken out of the forum, to the link destination. They should all be changed to open in new windows.

08/15/08 9:50 PM

I also notice that if I close the tab out of this forum it logs me out even though my firefox is still open. So every time I go to remix.nin.com or whatever, I have to log back into here.

08/15/08 11:08 PM

Just sent a PM to someone, message came up saying that the message went through successfully, then went to my sent messages folder and nothing appears.

edit: As well, the time that a post was posted is different on the actual post and then main page of the nin forums. For example, this post was showing that it was posted at 10:08 PM, while the main page was saying that this post was posted at 10:56 PM.
