i dont know if anyone posted this problem yet but
no matter which computer i use i log in fine and then i get kicked off after a while and have to login again
maybe there should be a "keep me logged onto this site" option
that might work

09/08/08 2:21 AM

I get the same thing, even with Firefox saying it will remember my password.

i agree, with IE & FF it kicks me off everytime i leave the site

im not logged in for 5 mins. Look over a thread and Boom. Cant post a reply i have to re-log back in

I told Firefox to remember my passsword for the site, but it doesn't seem to work -- something which hardly ever happens on other sites. I suspect there is a script on this site which won't allow me to do this, but I'm not sure.

If it's something the webmaster can do anything about, please let browsers remember passwords.

I use Firefox 3, and I'm talking about the log-in form on the nin.com front page.

09/06/08 2:37 AM

Yes, i noticed that too and it's annoying. Hope this gets fixed soon... sad smiley

09/06/08 3:44 AM

I thought I was the only one.

Hope it gets fixed soon.

09/06/08 4:30 AM

I'm still using Firefox 2, and it has the same issue. Really would like that fixed, its a major pain to not only have to click log in every time, but also have to type out my info. shiesh. Heh, im so spoiled by cookies.

09/06/08 5:08 AM

Same here - it also logouts me randomly.

09/09/08 3:53 PM

I too must re-login every time I visit nin.com (as well as remix.nin.com). I have cookies from login.nin.com & login2.nin.com (as well as all the other sub-domains I visit) that expire in 2009 or 2010, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I first created my account here on nin.com in Feb '08. Currently using FF3 with NoScripts (all scripts allowed from nin.com) on XP home & XP pro.

09/09/08 5:33 PM

Hey, I'm trying to sign up a friend and every time I type in the security code it says it's incorrect. Any Help?

09/09/08 9:33 PM

When I get to nin.com I ALWAYS have to re-enter my user name and password. Can't there be a 'remember me' box or something? My FireFox didn't even ask me if I want it remembered.

Am I the only one, or am I don't something wrong myself?

09/10/08 9:34 PM

every time i log in i have to request a new password, and when i try to make a new password it won't work when i try to log in again. but its worth the trouble cause this site fucking rocks

oh and btw im using fire fox 3, i dnt know if it matters

When I log in and go onto another site for just a minute I have to sign in again when I come back, so a Keep Me signed in for today checkbox would be a useful addition to the site.

Same here - every other forum I visit remembers the pw, This one [like remix.nin.com] doesn't wah!

09/13/08 8:57 AM

Hmmm...I couldn't log in via nin.com at all (I tried it via iPhone aswell - no luck). There was the security code and nowhere to type it in. Now when i refreshed the page, it appeared normally for a short sec but then again it was all black. So after 2 minutes of wtf I had to go and make a remix.com account where I was informed that I should dump my old friend, Explorer the 6th. cool smiley That melted my cold cold heart.

Need an option to resend registration authentication emails.

When I first signed up for the remix site, I had to sign up three or four times because I never received authentication emails. This was many, many months back.. still haven't ever received authentication emails for those usernames. They're all 'registered' under my email address, but I can't use them. Resetting the password doesn't help either.

Needless to say, this name was my fifth or so choice.. recently registered. It'd be nice if I could use the initial screen name I registered several months ago.

I have your same issue.. I was hoping to go back to my original username, which somehow got lost in shuffle from the spiral, to presale tickets, to the remix site, to this forum.

When I registered I could not get the security code to work with Firefox no matter how many times I tried. I ended up having to use Internet Explorer. So far I haven't encountered any other problems with Firefox.

Windows XP Pro
Firefox 3

I attempted to login for the Hamilton Presale, I wanted to double check the login before the presale started, it wouldn't work, and then I contacted the support email address listed on the presale ticket purchase page... I wasn't attempted to buy tickets... I selected "My Account" and attempted to login, and it failed each time. I cleared the cache, quit and restarted Safari 3.1 and made a second attempt to login, and again wouldn't work. Lather, rinse and repeat, but this time when the presale was up. RIGHT ON TIME!!! And the site didn't allow me to login. I even tried having a friend try it on their system. Again, wouldn't work.

I got one email reply for the support staff, but nothing after that. I even tried making a new account to login, and that wouldn't work. I spoke to a few friends that were trying to buy tickets and the same problem occurred on their end.

So, now out of the five people in total I have spoken with, only two were able to login. My account wouldn't login all day though. I've been a remix.nin.com user since it's launch, and nin.com member since it went live as well. So, it's not like I signed up today and am whining about this, but I was really looking forward to getting some tickets.

And, I don't mean to be a dink about this... But, can you guys fix the bugs so more long time fans can't be disappointed by this process?

I love this page, but I have this problem....I have to logg in everytime I use some link, this takes away my time (and patience)thumbs down

Sometimes I have to reset my password....

Can somebody help me?

....I know...my english sucks!!

Oh!!:......the worse is that I also have problems with the Mix links confused smiley

10/09/08 9:30 PM

There is a known issue concerning not being able to be logged into the remix site and the forums at the same time, as well as an issue with general links not opening into separate windows or tabs, which will direct you away from the site and may be logging you out also. Not sure about the resetting password issue, but I will eventually merge this thread into the login bugs thread where the programmers will see it, and I'm also going to delete the duplicate thread that was created in the tech forum.

I have a problem every time I come on to this site with signing in. This site doesn't seem to remember my password when I change it. I have to keep on resetting the password. Then that is the only way I can sign in. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried signing up earlier today, but it would never get the "captcha" correct. Tried at least twenty times, was correct each time, but said it was wrong and had me try again. Tried it a few minutes ago and it finally worked.

I use the latest Firefox.

Was playing around with this today and noticed the same thing. It seemed to me it would keep telling you the CAPTCHA was wrong if it had done it the first time, but seemed to have a better success rate if I re-clicked on the "Not registered? Join our cult!" (or whatever) link.

Same problem. Finally worked.

everytime i try to log on NIN website members area. my password wont work, so everytime i have to reset it. after i do log in i change my password to what i want it to be. but then if i log out i cant get in and have to reset all over again. anyone else havin this problem?

Still having to re-login after 10 minutes or so, or having multiple tabs open on nin.com. Seems like the session cookie is the only thing keeping me logged in.

Using FF3 on XP. I allow cookies on all sites and have no problems staying logged in at other sites (flickr, google, etc.)

In regards to setting firefox to remember the login username/password:

Although it may seem that it isn't working, it actually is. The login is remembered for the appropriate URL which is the header index.html.
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u35/bwary/temp/header1.jpg
The way the site loads the header index.html on the fly within all the other pages prevents FF from recognizing it was loaded.
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u35/bwary/temp/header2.jpg
(images are from while I make this post)

I'm sure it's the same situation with staying logged in. In many instances, it may appear that you aren't logged in. (Note images above for this one, too.). However, it's only the header that isn't showing the logged in status, while most functionality of being logged in is still there (i.e. making forum posts & reading PMs - using the direct URL; I didn't test other functions)

12/22/08 12:33 PM

It's taken me numerous tries to register due to the final entry line on the registration form, the line where the security code is entered. For me, that entry line has not appeared (for months), though the security code was visible. I'm in, thanks!.
