The spam is getting ridiculous, is it not possible to add a little questionnaire to registration that only a human NIN fan could answer? such as What NIN album does the song "X" belong to? Have that as well as a captcha for added security. Surely it would help at least slow things down with the spam, or is it that old inactive accounts are getting hacked?

They are new accounts that are just registered, not inactive accounts, there is no hacking. Our registration does have a captcha plus an email confirmation, so a human is registering. The bot comes into play with sending the messages- they go to the members pages to find accounts and send the spam to whoever has recently logged in (and they can conveniently sort to target certain people). There's not much else we can do but ban them ASAP so they don't use the same account. These are pro-spammers and they know how to work the system (with new emails, IP's). What I would like is a captcha on the pm system, but we don't have that option currently.
