I'm getting logged out as well when I go to the remix site & still haven't been able to upload. :/

Hey,

Have you tried updating your Flash? Check the version or upgrade for the heck of it. Sometimes bugs can be fixed with an update or even try using a different explorer. (Firefox/IE)

Let me know if this helps.

09/21/08 6:18 AM

Didn't work for me.

Blah.

What about when you upload a song, adjust all the sliders, and add information, and then when the song is uploaded, the information is all gone?

my thoughts precisely..
I'm hoping its just the "approval" process taking its sweet time...

meanwhile this re-logging on everytime I want to comment is giving me the shits...

I just cleared the queue and I don't see your remix, so try again. sad smiley

Concerning the login problem, I use two different browsers and log into the remix on one (and nothing else) and have the other open for everything else. It's a pain to switch back and forth between browsers, but I think it's easier than logging in constantly.

Another trick we've learned that may help in some cases, is for when you are uploading or downloading mixes, it's best to start the upload or download and then walk away from your computer; don't open other windows or tabs in your browser and just don't do anything else else with your computer until it's finished.

I'm really sorry there are so many bugs with the remix site. sad smiley They will get to us eventually, but for now all we can do is help each other the best we can.

09/22/08 11:09 AM

I'm using Firefox, on a Mac Powerbook running OSX version 10.3.9. My upload problem is as per the one already described: submit > long wait > "upload failure" repeatedly.

09/22/08 11:43 AM

Further to previous mail: I've found that my remix does go through if I leave the computer completely alone after hitting 'submit'.

09/22/08 2:03 PM

I tried something different. I compressed the file & it worked. Even if your file is way under 20mb (mine was 4.7mb) compress the fucker & see if it works.

09/23/08 6:49 PM

Having same problem. Just downloaded Apples Safari and the new updates. Same problem. Have always used Firefox. Did try Internet explorer. I also had to hit tab to see "continue to next step". Whatever the problem is it didn't happen after the launch when I was able to upload a few basic mixes.

09/24/08 12:14 AM

I'm guessing the site just works when it feels like it.

Compression didn't work 3rd time.

Just upload at your own risk.

This is a known issue; you cannot be logged into both the remix site and the rest of nin.com at the same time. It has been reported to the programmers.

2. how do I establish a list of "favorites"? (or, what obvious place or search term am I missing in order to figure this out?)

You can create playlists of your favorite mixes and save them to your remix profile. Check the FAQ on the remix site for the question "How do I create a playlist?" for instructions.

I follow the instructions, but the screen always goes black...I've given up trying for the time being!

That's a bug with firefox: press tab after checking the box and you should see the 'continue to next step' button.

I don't know much about garageband (maybe you can convert it there) but I do know you can convert from AAC to MP3 in iTunes.

I just checked and the comment/rate section worked fine for me. What specific area are you having a problem with?

Yeah I uploaded a Capital G remix on there and it never got put up. Or it never uploaded.

Theres no "upload" place to click after you've filled everything out. I just tabbed down to the bottom and pressed enter and it looked like it had uploaded. It transfered data for a while. But alas "No remixes have been uploaded or remixes that have been uploaded have not yet been processed."

I am trying to search for your account on the remix site but that function is not really up to par yet. Is your username there the same as it is here? Given the problems with uploading lately it is highly possible that it never finished loading. But I have been told that they are working on it and I will forward yet another request for info but with Rob and TR now back out touring it might be a while before I get a reply. Sorry for all the confusion and fuckups but I am sure that it will eventually get worked out. We (the mods) have been looking for some changes that would make our job easier but they seem very slow in coming. Feel free to PM with some extra info and I will try to get some info to post here.

Can you download songs? If not, I have a problem similar to this. Try refreshing the page or (if you're using a tab-based browser) open remix.nin.com in a new tab. That might work, otherwise try updating flash.

After doing some searching on this topic, it appears i may be the only one with this issue.

I cannot use remix.nin.com for the most part. I can listen to the music, and click on which track i want to listen to, but i cannot download, login, manage, or anything at all. Actually, most everything is "grayed" out and only the tracks are visible. I don't no understand why it is only that site, since i have no other issue with any site on the interwebs that use flash. Visually, it looks like a flash issue, but why only the remix site boggles the mind.
I am using Mozilla 3.0.3 and have also tried Opera 9.52. I am also using Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (please no flaming) hence no I.E. and never ever have an issue with flash anywhere at all 'cept with the remix site.
I thought maybe i could get confirmation from a Mod or someone who may be aware of the site being anti-Linux, which would surprise me, seeing as that is what is used for the Lights In The Sky tour, and everything else NIN.COM works flawlessly. grinning smiley

I just checked the site and it works fine for me (Mozilla user) but from the looks of your pic your problems are probably Linux based since it is just covering portions of the site & I can still see the users online area behind the grayed out area. I will contact one of the developers and see if they can give me any info that might help.

Thanks jodi! Sincerely appreciate the help.

I am having this exact problem, and I too am running Ubuntu, so it seems like it is an Ubuntu/Linux related issue. If you can figure out a solution, please let me know.

10/07/08 9:25 PM

I posted on the Ubuntu forums and yes...every Linux user (Ubuntu and even Mandriva) cannot use that site. After speaking with forum members at Ubuntu, it seems we are at the mercy of the developers of remix.nin.com. But it appears they don't care as questions have gone unanswered. Shame...since Linux runs the tour...but not the remix website.

I try to download the multitrack files, but when I try to expand them it doesn't work. Can somebody give clear instructions on how to download one on a mac? Thanks. smiling smiley

10/06/08 9:23 PM

(I moved this thread to the tech support forum.)

I've never downloaded the files on a mac so I probably won't be of much help, but I think you may need to be more specific for someone to help; are you having trouble actually downloading or un-zipping the files? - or loading them into garageband? Not sure what you mean by 'expanding.'
