Well some work, but the RAW files that are 1mb don't work for some reason. It says that the file is not compressed or encoded, and asks if I want to try to use stuffit expander. When I do this, it never works.

Shame...since Linux runs the tour...but not the remix website.

I'm using Fedora 9 and having the exact same problem.

whenever I try to rate a song, the screen just goes blank, like there was no song window on remix.nin.com, just black and off to the left, the bit with the current playlist.
same thing happens whenever i try to post a comment.
someone fix this or tell me how to get around it!!!

Was there any resolution on the problems with being able to rate songs? When I go to the rating bar and try to click and drag the slider, the whole rating box disappears. It's driving me crazy. I'm using Explorer/Windows XP.

Thank you. I'm sorry if I missed that when going back through the previous posts.

Concerning the login problem, I use two different browsers and log into the remix on one (and nothing else) and have the other open for everything else. It's a pain to switch back and forth between browsers, but I think it's easier than logging in constantly.

...

I'm really sorry there are so many bugs with the remix site. sad smiley They will get to us eventually, but for now all we can do is help each other the best we can.

Just had this problem too. Thanks for posting a strategy to work around this bug. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. In the meantime, I guess I don't need to be logged in to lurk...cool smiley

First, I have read this entire thread, so I know about Firefox and safari and about being logged onto both NIN.COM and the REMIX site at the same time.

I have tried several times last night and today to download some of my playlists and it is not working for me.

It will let me login and find my playlists, but I can't edit them or download any of them.

I am using Internet Explorer and even resorted to AOL, but still not working.
I also cleared my cache, even deleted my browsing history and temp internet files.

Any other suggestions?confused smiley

For some reason, it is not registering when I logout (on the NIN site and the REMIX site).
It showed me as logged in almost all day, but whenever I logout, it tells me I "have successfully logged out".

Anyone else having this problem?

Phoenix,

There is definitely a problem with saving playlists in IE (I just checked in IE7). However, I am still able to download playlists this way: go to profile and playlists, and drag the rss feed icon of a playlist (from the left side of the screen) into the podcast window of iTunes. Dragging from the bottom right area does not work for me. If you can though, it would be best to switch to another browser, like firefox or even Chrome seems to work OK with the remix site.

We have had some problems with logging out but not really being logged out completely. (I'm wondering if you are using IE6?) Try logging out by clicking 'logout' on all open tabs/windows and then exiting your browser.

I got it working late last night. I thought I had read not to use Firefox, sorry. Anyway, I cleared it's cache and removed cookies, and it worked fine. I also cleared the cache in my phone (just in case).

I have not tried dragging playlists to a podcast because I thought would sort them into podcast only and not in my playlist section. I didn't want to have to switch between them.

oh, Firefox seemed to logout correctly too. (version 3.0 I think)

I am operating on Vista, so basically nothing works quite as it should.angry smiley

Hey all, it's comforting to see that I'm not the only one having problems with remixNIN.com. I have just come from the said site after repeated kick backs at-
1) Not being able to download tracks.
2) Not being able to comment on or rate tracks.
And my biggest bugbear-
3) Not able to edit my own profile bio etc...
There are some nasty little trolls out there in hyperlink land and they require tracking down and obliterating from the community.

Am having problems downloading the remixes. Managed to download one a few weeks ago, but nothing since. Have updated flashplayer and run windows explorer and have allowed pop ups on the site.

Basically nothing happens at all when i left click on 'download mp3', whilst right clicking doesn't come up with any 'save as' options which i would have expected.

Frusration is not the word....

Any one out there have any ideas?

The cutser goes from an arrow to a hand and the text goes from blue to plae grey when i hoever over the 'download mp3' box, but basically nothing happens at all when i left click on 'download mp3', whilst right clicking doesn't come up with any 'save as' options which i would have expected.

Frusration is not the word.... I think I'd rather not know about these tracks than have them dangled in front of me but not copiable!

Any one out there have any ideas?

Hi. I had the same problems (a few posts back).

First, try to clear your cache on Internet Explorer.
Click on "Tools" top left
Click on "Delete Browsing History"
Click on "Delete All"
Click "yes" on the pop up box

However, the Mozilla's Firefox browser seems to work alot better for me.
Here is a link - Firefox
Download this, it should do the trick.

Also, don't sign on the remix site until you have logged of the nin.com site. Always try to log out.

good luck

havent been a able to locate the continue to next stage button when uploading the past three times i've been on is there aproblem?

11/10/08 11:10 AM

You could read my last couple of post on this thread or just do yourself a favor and download Firefox. It is a browser, it just doesn't suck like Internet Explorer and AOL, etc.

And log out of nin.com site before you log into remix.nin.com.hot smiley

This is actually an issue with firefox: press tab after checking the box and you should see the 'continue to next step' button.

Is Firefox a problem with uploading only, because I haven't had a problem with the downloading?

You are correct - firefox has a problem with upload only (missing the button); IE has problems with downloads. It's a good idea to stay away from using IE and AOL with nin.com in general.

What a really tactful and polite way to tell people, to step out of the dark ages.
Internet Explorer (version6 or below) - bad (geek squad will make fun of you)
AOL - far worse (my grandmother would make fun of you)
Firefox and Chrome - good (acceptable, but we still make fun of you)

or you can learn the hard way,....like metongue sticking out smiley

hmmm... the 'tab' trick doesn't work with my firefox either. it brings up the 'continue' button, then begins the upload, but after a while it just stops and never brings up 'step 2' of the song upload. sad smiley

EDIT: after a few more attempts it finally came through smiling smiley

I'd like to say thanks as well; I was so surprised when I went to remix.nin.com (forgetting that I was on my ubuntu machine instead of the MBP) and I could log in! Woohoo!

Thank you Phoenix_Enflame for the suggestion. I shall indeed attempt your proposal and let you know how it comes along.
