It seems that whenever I try to send PMs, I get a blank white page. I tried on all sorts of browsers, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome, and nothing seems to be working.

Just givin a heads up.

hmmm
more details please?

working there on chrome, ie, ff

Periodically, when I hit "reply" to a PM I get the "page cannot be displayed" page. I have to wait a few moments for it to sort itself out. If I refresh, it will just take me to my inbox. Same issue in all browsers.

I got the same thing only I was replying to a mod after hitting pm in the left box. It didn't work itself out until a good while later.

Yeah, I've been trying to pm all the mods about getting a goddamn view new posts button already, but it hasn't been working.

Let's quote from the *other* thread you've been yelling in:

P.S. Use something other than Firefox. I've had problems with PM's as well using Firefox 3.0, but no problems at all using Chrome.

I was having issues. But once I logged out and then logged back in I was able to PM once again.

09/08/08 7:46 PM

I click to PM a user and the page won't load, I just get a white page.

I'm running Firefox 3.0

attempting to answer a pm and getting blank page/page cannot be displayed in both firefox and IE.

pms seem to be working again fyi

Temporary solution (until the devs/progs can get on it): logout then log back in. Or use Chrome(I've had no problems thus far).

09/09/08 11:20 PM

So mine didn't work, then I was finally able to send one, and now they're not working again.

09/12/08 2:37 PM

The PM function is all fail.

Again.

I'm having erratic PM problems with Firefox 3 - they worked earlier today, don't work now. Safari works fine, though. I've passed the message along to our devs so hopefully they'll fix it quickly.

To the admins here, I still say that VBulletin would have been the better software choice :p

I'm having the 'erratic' problems with pms just now... i was able to send some earlier on this evening, but trying to write/reply to any at the moment is a no-go. i can read any i've recieved, which is a bit frustrating.

funnily enough, this problem does seem to randomly crop up with viewing threads; i just get a blank page.

i'm using firefox 3, haven't had the time to try chrome...

I'm starting to get the same thing.Blank white page & what not. It's off & on.

09/16/08 3:33 AM

Along this thread, I had this problem (I think this morning?) I thought it was Moz3 but using Safari I had the same problem. I tried signing in, and out again and that didn't work either.

It's not a problem for me, it happens irregularly at best. I just thought you might want a record of the occurrence.

Also, if this happens to others, I found that responding to a PM did not work, but there didn't seem to be any problems with leaving a message, clicking on someone's profile and starting a new PM.

(Sorry if this is already irrelevant.)

09/16/08 9:02 PM

I echo this, except my PM won't work at all, regardless of it being a reply or a new one initiated via a profile link.

09/16/08 10:04 PM

logging out and logging back in seems to work for me at the moment.

09/16/08 9:09 PM

Mine are off and on depending on the day. I just try again later if it doesn't work the first time, and usually it works.

they tend to suck the most right when you are in the middle of a good conversation. i just wait for a bit and then it goes through.

Why does anyone else have a direct link to pm him/her under their avatar next to the link to the profile? I don´t find a way to have this displayed for my account.

Thanks, peggysuicide. After realizing that when I am logged out I can´t the the PM button for none of the other members it came to my mind that I maybe don´t see my own one to prevent me from spamming my PM inbox myself.

When you reply to a pm and it says 'message successfully sent', shouldn't it then show up in your 'Sent' messages folder? Or not. I think I've replied to two PMs but there is nothing in the 'Sent' folder.

I believe you have to check the box that will add the PM to your "sent messages"
