I experience the same thing, I'm thinking when Earth fetches new data it loads it/populates it in the browser app - during this "update" it will freeze up as it loads the new data (posts)- You can watch your CPU performance spike from an idol %3 to %77 each time an update/new post occurs. If there's a lot of info to update it might spike to %100 causing a temp freeze.

Any movements you make to the globe will occur after the update.

mine won't install at all. I have installed the damn thing like 20 times in two days and it keeps saying it won't run and to install google earth again...ARGHHH

I'm having the same issue!!!
I'll try running the uninstaller

Edit: Just uninstalled then reinstalled... Still doesn't work!

Yeah worked first time, since then? crashed every time.

Have Google Earth installed.
Plugin worked.
Firefix 3 on XP.
