So what exciting thing can we do on those days between the Sydney shows? What has Sydney got to offer me? I want cheap thrills baby - and not of the Kings Cross kind thank you.

You know what's thrilling. Selling your body for Candy-canes to be able to afford proper thrills.
p.s. Kings Cross isn't THAT cheap, thus it does not qualify for cheap thrills in the first place... I recommend porky's *smirks*.

Well, strip clubs might be among our only options on a Monday night.

A few drinks at the Townie and I'm sure we'll come up with an awesome-o plan.

So I'm guessing that getting to and from this racetrack is going to be difficult? I get in with Eric at 9am, I dare say we won't even think about leaving til like 12.
There'll be three of us getting there so if someone (Petra?) wants to maxi taxi it with us there to save money and the frustration of public transport that could be a cool way to go.
I have also decided to chuck it all in and go to Melbourne! I haven't been in a while so I guess it's a freakin good excuse. And I can party with ex-Brisbanite Jake smiling smiley

I don't think getting there will be too much of a problem, apparently they're doing a bus service from the nearest train station (blacktown i think)
getting back will be a serious bitch though, cause it will be a shitfight to get onto/near the buses after its all over.

Firstly Hi I'm Dan from Melbourne, going to soundwave and the show at festy hall next month (and pretty fucking excited about that).

Has anyone got a clue who's supporting NIN in Melbourne??

Anyhow would like to beat myself up with other Melb fans - who's up for it eh?

01/10/09 7:54 PM

hey,

is anyone grabbing their nuts and downloading the 405GB here in austraya?

if anyone does I'd be willing to pay you some $$$ for a 7200 internal HD of the raw footage.

thanks,

cameron.

I'm actually looking forward to eastern creek. There are no sound restrictions or curfew so the organisers have promised some extra bands and a bit more volume.

Yeah its a pain to travel from Newtown but I've never been one to shy away from trying something different :p

Besides, if it sucks, we'll have the Hordern on the Tuesday.

01/10/09 10:10 PM

And my icon is hypnotic. Every time I post I spend the next 60 seconds staring at it and laughing to myself.

Crazy.

Can someone give me an estimate on how far Eastern Creek is from say like.. Hyde Park?

01/12/09 12:21 AM

hey, i've ended up with an extra GA ticket to both the melbourne and sydney sideshows. both are presale tickets so you'll get a funky ticket but won't get it until the day of the show. face value of course (which is about $95 including the booking fee thingy)

i don't look here often so please email me at camparrent@optushome.com.au

By train it will take you about anywhere from 40 - 50 minutes to get to Blacktown depending on what time you go (if its an express or an all stations etc) and then you'd have to bus it from there.

If you are getting a train from right in the city I can suggest getting one from central, from the blue mountains lines, as they do super express trains that stop basically strathfield, parramatta and blacktown. So it would be a lot faster.

Theres no official info on what station they are running the buses from (i.e. the free ones announced) but my guess it would be Blacktown as its a major station and can hold the crowds.

01/12/09 2:07 AM

oi petra, i set up a fb group for this bus. join it hoe!

Don't really like your chances.
Further expanding the talk about the bus, the bus will cost around 600 dollars all up so people would have to pitch in 20 dollars each. I will get more details and pass them on to you.

01/17/09 9:34 PM

$20! Bargain.

And before anyone asks, I was the one that posted that from my sister's account. -_-

I meant the bus... I'm not sure a corset would work on my skinny male frame.

01/18/09 7:14 PM

Thanks Erikku - I will join ye on Facebook soon enough. Only two weeks 'till I get my intertubes sorted.

$20 is a bargain. I'm in and will pass the word around. Do you know if we are allowed to consume alcohol on the bus? I remember seeing that some buses allowed it and others didn't.

In other news: my office is far too cold.
