all things west coast! events, oddities, hella, and everything in between.

08/15/08 8:25 PM

Hella is it's own subject now?

08/15/08 9:10 PM

heh. no. just getting the ball rolling i guess. it just came out when i was typing smiling smiley im curious to know if there is anyone here not from sacramento that will be coming for the state fair? is it a fairly big deal elsewhere like it is here in sac.?

08/15/08 10:49 PM

I will be going to the fair sometime this week, but I was raised there so I totally don't count. Hella dank, son.
I live in Oakland now, and my NIN tickets sit, lovingly, next to a Homer Simpson statuette wearing a sombrero.
EDIT: I totally didn't realize who I was responding too. HAHA.

holla from the beach yo!

no state fairs for me tho.

08/15/08 11:35 PM

Holla.

And no. 'Hella' is totally NorCal. I'm from Socal (Temecula) and I hear people say 'hella' all the time up here in Norcal. It drives me batshit.

08/16/08 12:34 AM

I'm in LA

08/16/08 1:08 AM

I just moved from Stockton to Vallejo. I'm glad to put that hot nasty weather behind me. yawning smiley

I'm guessing the State fair's somewhat of a big deal for the valley/nor cal people. The last one I went to, around 3 years ago wasn't very fun, and I doubt I would go again, unless there's a good performer that night.

08/18/08 5:52 PM

I think this weekend it was over 100 degrees.

But i wasn't at home! grinning smiley

They're fun, but kick up my allergies like a mofo!

Las Vegas, Nevada. Maybe not west coast, but it's still Pacific Timezone.

The temp in my area of the city hit 107 today. This is one cold summer we're having. Usually it's up to the 110's this time of year.

whew! my blood is too thick for nevada (as HST said). my area of cali has had only a handful of 100+ days so far, which is sorta unseasonable. im a heat wussy though. hopefully i can go to the beach soon, im due to get out of sac for a while.

08/18/08 11:03 PM

Las Vegas, usually a dry heat, right?

I'll take that over a bako, muggy, smog filled heat!

But seriously, catch a day when its about 95 out here, you'll see alot of people in hoodies.
jacket weather!

they're nuts.

08/18/08 11:07 PM

the opposite end of that spectrum is the crazy folks in the midwest that wear shorts in 45 degree weather confused smiley

not this summer. We've had up to 35% humidity. Ever been in 110, 35% humidity weather?

And I don't care what people say about Wet and Dry heat. It's just two different evils.

108 and 27% humidity. Nothin' better than your clothes sticking to you! barf!

I think we win for the most energy expensive summer!

Oh for certain.

My family actually has to go room with the grandparents if our A/C dies.

I'm from Anaheim, but my band plays all over the place. Even places filled with skin heads, sorta just like Lancaster, but that's a tale for another day! I think it would be awesome to meet other CA ETS'ers, and I've tried to organize several meetups on ETS (I started the 'Welcome to Sunny CA' thread over there), but they always seem to fizzle. Why the hell is everyone out here so standoffish? Meh, I guess I kinda am too. Nonetheless, I've met a bunch of ETS'ers, so I'm hoping that maybe with a little luck we can get an LA fan community going.

If you ever need something to do on any given night something is usually going on, so pm me if you're bored.

By the time that it hits 45, it's warm ;-) I've worn sandals when it was 32 degrees and snowing. I used to live in New England; now I live in LA. I giggle when I see people wearing heavy coats, scarves, hats and gloves when it's only 60 degrees.

08/19/08 3:31 PM

60 degrees is hoodie weather!!!

08/19/08 3:46 PM

Its icky in San Francisco. I like it. HELLA!

08/19/08 8:19 PM

^so good to see you smiling bouncing smiley

08/19/08 10:39 PM

Hella is definetly a Norcal thing. I was up in Norcal for 10 years. But now I'm in Socal, out in Hemet. Talk about heat. It was a nice cool 90F today. LOL

08/20/08 12:38 PM

San Diego here, and LA/Whittier in about a week for college :-)

I'm so sorry... I live in Temecula, so I understand.

I used to go there for soccer tournaments. It was awful. My apologies to you, as well.

I totally want to meet other ETS'ers. I can't anytime soon though, and I have a feeling that not many will be at the Sacramento show...
